00:00Damon. Hello, brother.
00:06Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most unforgettable characters in their first and last appearance.
00:13This list contains spoilers for multiple shows.
00:16You, Eleanor Shellstrop, are dead. Your life on Earth has ended, and you are now in the next phase of your existence in the universe.
00:2510. President Jed Bartlett – The West Wing
00:30Throughout the first episode of Aaron Sorkin's political drama, the president is mostly unseen.
00:36But as soon as Martin Sheen enters the scene quoting Bible verses and standing up to a hypocritical Christian political lobby,
00:43we know exactly what kind of leader he is. He is good-natured until crossed.
00:48CJ, show these people out.
00:51I believe we can find the door.
00:54Find it now.
00:56After serving his two tumultuous terms, the series finale ends with him being flown out of the capital city and into his future as a former president.
01:05It's a bittersweet departure for both the character and the audience.
01:09But as a man who has always had his eye on the future, Jed is able to leave us with the perfect words for the occasion one last time.
01:16Fittingly, the first time we meet the pizza delivery boy turned hero by a zombie apocalypse, he's taunting Rick Grimes over the radio like a boastful gamer.
01:37Hey, you. Dumbass. Yeah, you in the tank. Cozy in there?
01:48Glenn reappears in the flesh in the second episode, helping Rick escape a horde of hungry flesh eaters.
01:54But it's his last scene where he meets his brutal end that really made an impact on the show's audience.
02:00First impressions are important. I need you to know me. So, back to it.
02:20Ninian does away with the fan favorite character in the most cruel and violent way, bashing away at him with a bat in front of the people who care about him.
02:29Simon's my right-hand man. Having one of those is important. I mean, what do you have left without him? A whole lot of work. You have one? Maybe one of these fine people still breathing? Oh.
02:50Number 8. Omar Little, The Wire.
02:53You see that? Oh, yeah. There from the end. That's the stash.
03:00One of the most complex characters ever written, the notorious Baltimore drug dealer was a mass of contradictions and a code of conduct to his illegal business practices that set him apart.
03:10When we first meet him, he is staking out a potential robbery target. Already, he demonstrates his methodical approach to criminal activities.
03:19He meets his end in a corner store when a young boy looking to build up his own notoriety in Baltimore. It speaks to the cynical nature of crime.
03:37In the end, Omar is replaceable in the criminal underworld, where people are always looking to claim power.
03:43Your boy robbed him?
03:44Candidate said the hoppers all ran up in there after with souvenirs. Took his shot and he sent me auto, too. Ran all to his pockets.
03:51Number 7. Christina Yang, Grey's Anatomy.
03:55When Sandra Oh left the long-running series at the end of its tenth season, fans were rightfully devastated. Christina Yang had been a stalwart presence in the show and in Meredith Grey's life since the beginning.
04:07Only six women out of 20.
04:09Yeah. I hear one of them's a model. Seriously, that's gonna help her with the respect thing?
04:14From her first judgmental comments about Izzy Stevens, we know exactly how she operates. She's hard-hearted and no-nonsense.
04:23Her friendship with Meredith is one of the things that gave the show its heart.
04:27You're my person. I need you alive. You make me brave.
04:32In their final moments together, they dance it out for one last time and Christina gives her some hard-hitting advice.
04:39It was the perfect send-off and the perfect example of why the show was never the same without her.
04:45You are a gifted surgeon with an extraordinary mind. Don't let what he wants eclipse what you need.
04:52He's very dreamy. But he is not the son. You are.
04:58Number 6. Olivia Pope. Scandal.
05:01If you get subpoenaed in front of a grand jury, you can testify as an officer of the court that I was working on my own.
05:07I didn't blackmail or threaten her. If you don't get subpoenaed, this never happened.
05:11Washington DC's most ingenious fixer begins the series as a character whose career depends on secrecy and keeping a low profile.
05:19She is a creature of the capital's shadows. The first time we see her, she's in her trademark white trench in a dingy service elevator.
05:27We're gonna get killed. Did you propose? Weren't you gonna ask her tonight?
05:30I was doing this tonight. Liv, we're gonna get killed. We're 3 million dollars short.
05:33So you flaked. Why are we short?
05:34The ambassador couldn't come up with rest, which is a problem, a very big problem, why we shouldn't even be going up there in the first place.
05:39And I did not flake. I'm working for you.
05:41Volleying between grilling her associate about his engagement and a high profile client, this is a woman who can multitask like no other.
05:49Over the series, she's unwillingly thrust into the spotlight and must rise to the occasion.
05:54Olivia gets her happy ending. More than that, her place in history is cemented by her portrait hanging in the National Portrait Gallery.
06:02So I made my own decision. My assignment here's done. And I won't let you come and rain on my future sun.
06:09Number 5. Rachel Green, Friends
06:12The writing was on the wall for the show's most fateful couple since the very beginning.
06:17Ross Geller's laments about his personal life are immediately followed by the first appearance of the karmically attired Rachel Green.
06:24Come on, you're single. Have some hormones. See, but I don't want to be single, okay? I just, I just, I just want to be married again.
06:37And I just want a million dollars.
06:40Although it's an ensemble piece, Rachel's entrance sets the entire series into motion. Her manic energy and desperation say a lot about her.
06:49I just had to get out of there and I started wondering why am I doing this and who am I doing this for?
06:54So anyway, I just didn't know where to go and I know that you and I have kind of drifted apart, but you're the only person I knew who lived here in the city.
07:02Who wasn't invited to the wedding?
07:04Oh, I was kind of hoping that wouldn't be an issue.
07:07She goes from runaway bride to self-assured and independent woman, but in the series finale, she can't leave Ross.
07:14The two are last seen with the others as Monica and Chandler finally move out of their Manhattan apartment.
07:20Well, do you guys have to go to the new house right away or do you have some time?
07:24We got some time.
07:29Okay, should we get some coffee?
07:31Sure.
07:32Okay.
07:33Where?
07:35Daenerys Targaryen – Game of Thrones
07:42When we first meet the Mother of Dragons, she is in a dire position.
07:46Her sniveling, abusive brother is using her as a pawn in his own quest for power.
07:52I want us both to go home, but they took it from us.
07:57So tell me, sweet sister, how do we go home?
08:03I don't know.
08:04We go home with an army.
08:07Over eight seasons, one of the show's most rootable characters is reduced to a cruel tyrant, driven mad by her own unlimited power.
08:15When she finally meets Jon Snow, the man whom fans have been convinced she will fall in love with and marry, it's not the whirlwind romance they might have imagined.
08:24It's not easy to see something that's never been before.
08:31A good world.
08:34How do you know?
08:37How do you know it'll be good?
08:40Because I know what is good.
08:42Seeing that she is beyond reason, Jon murders her for the good of the kingdom.
08:46It's a sad and bitter end to a character the fans had invested so much in.
08:51Was it right?
08:56What I did.
09:01What we did.
09:06It doesn't feel right.
09:08Number 3.
09:09Fleabag.
09:10Fleabag.
09:11Throughout the two innovative seasons of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's star making comedy, Fleabag openly addresses the camera and in effect, us.
09:19You know that feeling when a guy you like sends you a text at 2 o'clock on a Tuesday night asking if he can come and find you.
09:24And you've accidentally made it out like you've just gotten yourself so you have to get out of bed, drink half a bottle of wine, get in the shower, shave everything, dig out some agent provocateur business, suspend about the whole bit and wait by the door until the buzzer goes.
09:36We first meet her as she engages in a hookup with a random guy. Even her most intimate moments she shares with us.
09:43And you spend the rest of the day wondering.
09:45Over the series we come to realize we are almost a coping mechanism for her to disengage from her life.
09:52This comes to a head in the final scene when having moved on from the self-destructive behaviors that hold her back, she also leaves us behind.
10:00Literally the last shot of Fleabag as the title character finally content walking away from the camera.
10:07I spent all this time trying to figure out why nobody on my side.
10:19Number two, Leslie Knope, Parks and Recreation.
10:22I like to tell people, you know, get on board and buckle up because my ride is going to be a big one.
10:28And if you get motion sickness, put your head between your knees because Leslie Knope's stopping for no one.
10:35Amy Poehler's Municipal Worker is so optimistic that much of this sitcom's humor comes from the world's complete indifference to her.
10:42In her very first scene, Leslie Knope tries to conduct a survey with an uncooperative child and coaxes an inebriated man out of a park slide.
10:51The last time we see her, we get a glimpse of her future as governor of Indiana.
10:56Not to say that public service isn't sexy, because it definitely is.
11:01But that's not why we do it.
11:04We do it because we get the chance to work hard at work worth doing alongside a team of people who we love.
11:12Our final moments with Pawnee's Parks and Recreation Department see them posing for a picture, unsure of when they will see each other again.
11:20Nevertheless, Leslie is ready to step into her greatness.
11:24You ready, babe?
11:27Yes.
11:30I'm ready.
11:32Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
11:37Lorelai and Rory Gilmore.
11:39Gilmore Girls, Gilmore Girls, A Year in the Life.
11:42The mother-daughter duo went from jonesing for coffee to very real grownup problems.
11:47I want to remember it all.
11:50Every detail.
11:57Mom?
11:58Yeah.
12:02I'm pregnant.
12:03Damon Salvatore, The Vampire Diaries.
12:06He had us at hello twice.
12:08Hello, brother.
12:10Tony Soprano, The Sopranos.
12:18Fade in on a mob boss in a therapist's office, then cut to black.
12:23Villanelle, Killing Eve.
12:35Few characters have the character arc that this assassin had.
12:38I did it, Eve.
12:39Don't you mean we did it?
12:40Yeah, but mostly me.
12:41Selina Meyer, Veep.
12:42The Veep starts surrounded by an eccentric but devoted staff and ends having sold them
12:57out.
12:58I would be more than happy to get you something to eat.
13:00What would you like?
13:01You figure that out.
13:02Why am I coming up with solutions for you?
13:03That's your job, right?
13:04That's not my job.
13:05Sorry, ma'am.
13:06The level of incompetence in this office is just…

13:50This beloved AMC series begins right in the middle of the story.
13:54We have no context for how Walter White has found himself speeding through the desert in
13:58a camper wearing just his underwear.
14:01We know it can't be good.
14:03What follows over the next five seasons sees the mild-mannered chemistry teacher becoming
14:07a crime kingpin who sells out his morals and his own family's safety for power.
14:13Wounded in a shootout in the series finale, Walt dies just as law enforcement arrives.
14:28There's a hauntingly serene look on his face as the camera cranes upward.
14:33He's no longer the panicked amateur.
14:35For better or worse, he dies a professional.
14:38Say the words!
14:39Say you want this!
14:40Nothing happens until I hear you say it!
14:41I want this!
14:42Which of these characters is your favorite?
14:56Tell us in the comments!
14:57I hate to see you walk through the final door at the edge of existence, but I love to watch
15:03you leave.
15:04There we go.
15:05You love it!
