00:25and the threat of worsening wildfires.
00:30Far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Bengtvir visited and prayed at Jerusalem's holiest site,
00:37the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, breaking a decades-old agreement that allows Jews to visit the site but not pray.
00:43The provocative move was met with widespread condemnation from Palestinian and regional leaders
00:48who view it as an incitement.
00:50His visit and prayer comes in protest to Hamas releasing a video of an Israeli hostage under captivity in Gaza
00:56which he says was tactically released to pressure Israel into a deal.
01:01The video showing a 24-year-old Israeli appearing thin and malnourished sparked uproar
01:06and piled pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government to strike a hostage deal.
01:11Netanyahu says Hamas is using videos of horror to break Israel into entering a deal
01:16and promised to continue fighting until all hostages are returned.
01:20Netanyahu also said his office spoke with the International Committee of the Red Cross
01:25to seek help in providing the hostages with food and medical care.
01:29The Red Cross called for immediate access to hostages to provide them with urgent care.
01:34Hamas says it's ready to respond positively to the Red Cross' requests
01:38if humanitarian corridors in Gaza are opened in a, quote,
01:41regular and permanent manner.
01:44The UN says 500 to 600 trucks carrying aid are needed daily to satisfy the needs of Gaza's 2 million population
01:51while only a fraction of that enters.
01:54The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry says so far 93 children and 82 adults have died from malnutrition-related causes.
02:02The UN says these numbers are expected to increase as Israel continues to limit aid entering the enclave
02:08accusing it of manufacturing a humanitarian catastrophe.
02:1233 Palestinians were killed on Sunday en route to an Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid site.
02:19GHF sites have seen regular fatal violence since the U.S. company began operations in late May.
02:25Eyewitnesses say Israeli soldiers opened fire at crowds of people,
02:29allegations the group in Israel deny.
02:31Braving torrential rain, tens of thousands of demonstrators crossed Sydney's iconic Harbour Bridge,
02:43calling for peace and immediate distribution of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.
02:47In addition to placards and Palestinian flags, participants carried pots and pans as symbols of malnutrition.
02:55The organisers were given the go-ahead to hold the march at the last minute by a Supreme Court decision.
03:00Despite initial objections from the authorities.
03:04Among the marchers was Julian Assange, founder of the WikiLeaks platform.
03:09The Australian government is under domestic pressure to move towards immediate recognition of the state of Palestine,
03:16following recent examples set by France, Canada and the UK.
03:20In an interview, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese set as a precondition for recognition of a Palestinian state,
03:28the fulfilment of long-term security conditions for Israel.
03:36OPEC Plus agreed to boost oil production by 548,000 barrels per day from September,
03:44in a move that could further reduce gas prices this year.
03:47The group had been curtailing production for years to support oil prices,
03:52but changed course after calls by U.S. President Donald Trump to ramp it up.
03:58The decision comes amid increasing U.S. pressure to bring Moscow to the negotiating table
04:03to end their ongoing, full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
04:07Azerbaijan has held its new natural gas pipeline to Syria following the completion and inauguration of the project
04:17and a coordinated regional effort to stabilise Syria's energy sector post-Assad.
04:22Speaking to Euronews, Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikhail Jabirov,
04:27said Syria now becomes the 14th country that Azerbaijan supplies natural gas to.
04:32We all know that Syria is going through the process of rebuilding,
04:38bringing back the economy, back to normalisation,
04:42and of course reliable energy supply is of crucial importance in that regard.
04:48Gas to be supplied by Azerbaijan to Syria
04:51will no doubt contribute to ensuring more stable energy supply, power production,
05:00and according to our estimates, will satisfy the demands of millions of people there.
05:05So with this step, we reopen an important page of bilateral relationship,
05:12and I think this is just the beginning.
05:15This project is also a result of the alliance-strategic partnership relationship
05:22which Azerbaijan and Turkey enjoy.
05:25This project would not be possible without goodwill and cooperation of both of these countries' leaders.
05:32Syria is the 14th country that is going to receive natural gas supplies from Azerbaijan
05:40via pipeline, different pipelines,
05:43and this is what is making Azerbaijan a growing energy supplier.
05:51The project is expected to provide electricity to around 5 million households in Aleppo
05:57and improve supply from between 3 and 4 hours a day to 10 hours a day.
06:03Poland is extending its temporary border controls with Germany and Lithuania until October 4th.
06:13This was announced by Interior Minister Marcin Kierwinski on Sunday.
06:19The reason given was continued concerns regarding irregular migration.
06:23Increased security measures have made the route via Belarus and Russia largely impassable,
06:28which is why the migration movement is increasingly shifting to other EU states,
06:32especially Lithuania and Latvia.
06:35Warsaw also claimed that illegal migrants were entering Polish territory through Germany.
06:40In response to illegal migration, Germany has also introduced controls at all its borders.
06:46Germany and Poland are both part of the visa-free Schengen area,
06:50which typically allows citizens to travel across borders easily for work or pleasure.
06:55Member states are allowed to introduce border controls in times of serious threat, according to the EU.

08:32Forest fires continue to rage and threaten to worsen due to the weather.
08:36Spain will also experience high temperatures as a mass of hot air from North Africa
08:42hovers over the Iberian Peninsula.
08:45It's currently enduring the summer's second heat wave,
08:47expected to last until the end of the week.
08:50The heat wave in both countries is expected to reach its peak intensity on Monday and Tuesday,
08:56with red health alerts being issued across the region.
09:00Typically cold Nordic countries are also being seared by truly unprecedented heat,
09:04according to local authorities.
09:08Scientists say the region went through its longest heat wave since the 1960s,
09:13with temperatures regularly soaring past 30 degrees Celsius.
09:18The area has also been hit by storms and lightning strikes that have sparked wildfires.
09:25Warnings were issued in eastern Poland for storms, rain and heat over the weekend.

10:11has begun erupting for the first time in nearly 600 years,
10:15according to the region's Volcanic Eruption Response Team.
10:18It comes after the region's Ministry of Emergency Services issued a tsunami warning
10:24following a 6.8-magnitude earthquake, which has since been lifted.
10:29The volcano is situated in Russia's eastern volcanic belt,
10:33one of the most active volcanic regions on Earth.
10:37Scientists say Sunday's earthquake and subsequent volcanic eruption
10:40could be connected to Wednesday's massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake
10:44that triggered tsunami warnings across the Pacific.
10:48South Korea's military said it started taking down propaganda speakers
10:57along its border with North Korea.
11:00The move is part of an effort by South Korea's new liberal government
11:03to reduce tensions with Pyongyang.
11:05The speakers, which would blair anti-North Korean propaganda and K-pop songs
11:24had been turned on by the conservative government in June of last year.
11:28It had done so in retaliation for North Korea flying trash-filled balloons across the border.
11:35North Korea has not yet commented on South Korea's decision to remove the speakers.
