00:28Senior police sources told TV6 News that the alleged suspect was interviewed on Monday and he was positively identified by the victim following an ID parade conducted by officers of the Special Victims Department of the Child Protection Unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service earlier today.
00:46Based on information presented to the police, the mother of the victim had known the suspect in a professional capacity.
00:52He, having previously provided professional services at the company she worked for,
00:56The suspect, police say, often assists persons with behavioural and other mental challenges.
01:03A senior police source explained that the mother had been faced with some behavioural issues with her son and decided to seek the services of the expert to assist her son.
01:12Earlier this month, during a phone conversation with her son during a counselling session,
01:17the professional from East Trinidad allegedly asked the victim if he had a bird or a girlfriend.
01:22Seconds later, the suspect allegedly asked the victim to switch the call to a video conversation and allegedly showed his private to him through his pants.
01:32The victim, police say, became scared and hung up the phone and reported the matter to his mother immediately.
01:38Since he had not secured any evidence, his mother asked him to call the suspect again,
01:42who in a second conversation allegedly exposed himself to the minor.

01:52and his mother later contacted a suspect, who she said apologised profusely.
01:58The suspect, police say, also sent a long-written apology to the mother, claiming it was a mistake and it was accidental.
02:06The suspect later went to the police and, in the presence of his attiree, offered no comment during an interview with the police.
