Transcript
00:00Good morning everyone, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Wednesday, July the 3rd.
00:04We're going to use some of our top headlines today.
00:06First of all, a Doncaster mum home has reopened a life-changing playgroup for SEND families.
00:12The comeback of the group called the SENDEN, it's a playgroup designed specifically for children with special educational needs and disabilities
00:21and has officially reopened in a brand new venue at Kirk Sandall Church Hall.
00:26It has been founded by local mum, Lauren Merrington, whose twin boys are both autistic.
00:34So you can find out the reasoning behind that reopening and how it's been received by local parents on the website today.
00:43Then one from last night, which we'll be able to hopefully bring you more of as the day goes on.
00:49So Major Doncaster City Centre Road was sealed off early evening yesterday following a serious incident.
00:57Copley Road was put on lockdown, eyewitnesses told us, near to the roads junction with Christchurch Road.
01:03An eyewitness reported a man wielding a knife towards others in the street and they reported numerous police vehicles and paramedics.
01:12We've approached the emergency services and hopefully we'll be able to bring you more on that, as I say, later today when we receive it.
01:21And then one that I put out yesterday afternoon, a really unpleasant one.
01:26Police are asking for information following two sheep that were injured with a crossbow.
01:31Last week, Wednesday, July 23rd, first thing in the morning, a farmer from the Darlene area of Wadduff reported two of his sheep have been found injured in the field after being targeted with crossbows.
01:45The arrows were actually still stuck in the sheep, causing some distress, obviously, but have seen since been recovered by officers.
01:51The sheep have been treated and are, thankfully, recovering well.
01:55If you've got any details of that, you know where to contact.
01:59The full story is on the website, as of the rest, on www.doncasterpeepress.co.uk
02:05and we'll keep you updated on X and Facebook and have a great Wednesday.
