00:09Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:13Through the next 24 hours, we're seeing a fair amount of clouds, some brighter breaks.
00:17At the same time, there will be a little rain and drizzle around, even some showers.
00:21But if you cast your eye down towards the southeast of Europe, where we've seen extreme heat through the last week,
00:27good news for locals as well as tourists, that heat is gradually waning here.
00:32High pressure extends from the Atlantic towards the UK through the next few days,
00:36but a weather front on Thursday could trigger some heavy showers,
00:39and the air turns a lot more humid, particularly across central and southern areas.
00:43But Friday into Saturday, fairly fine conditions.
00:47For the time being, you may run into some patchy rain, one or two showers if you're heading out and about.
00:53There's a lot of cloud overnight, and that cloud will be low,
00:56and what that means, poor visibility, particularly over the hills and mountains as well as the moors.
01:01And through the night, yet again, some dampness in the air,
01:04and those showers could just come and go across central and eastern areas.
01:08It's going to be a mild night, warm for some towards the south,
01:11and quite a murky start to the day come Wednesday morning.
01:15Now, if you are stepping out first thing on Wednesday,
01:18again, there could be spits and spots of rain in the wind.
01:21And for most, it's a dry start, just a lot of cloud.
01:24But the cloud will break at times, through the morning into the afternoon,
01:28particularly across central and eastern areas.
01:29At the same time, by lunchtime, you'll see some patchy rain for Northern Ireland.
01:33It will clear, brighter skies to follow as that rain and drizzle just arrives across the Western Isles.
01:39Notice this slitherous sunshine just extending down from central Bell to Scotland,
01:43northern England towards Wales and the West Country.
01:46Further east, yet again, one or two light showers to end the day,
01:49and a fair amount of cloud here.
01:51But some brighter skies across Orkney as well as Shetland.
01:56Temperatures then will feel warm, actually, in any brighter parts of the day
02:00and in any sunshine through the afternoon.
02:0323 or 24 will be your high.
02:05Now, through Wednesday evening and overnight, some clearer skies yet again.
02:10But notice this weather front here.
02:12This is going to slide down from Northern Ireland with some outbreaks of rain,
02:16clipping the far southwest of Scotland,
02:18eventually reaching Wales as well as the West Country
02:20into the early hours of Thursday morning.
02:23Starry skies across eastern counties and still some dampness in the air
02:26with one or two showery bursts across the north as well as the west of Scotland.
02:30Now, through the morning, notice we'll see some showers develop across Wales
02:35as well as central southern England.
02:36They'll migrate their way eastwards as well,
02:38and they could turn heavy with the risk of thunder.
02:42So we could see some impactful weather associated with a heavy downpour here.
02:46They'll be fairly scattered, but it's worth noting there could be some wet weather
02:50around through Thursday afternoon if you are travelling elsewhere.
02:52Some brighter skies, a few showers around, but it will feel warm.
02:56So temperatures through the afternoon on Thursday across Scotland and Northern Ireland
03:01around 18 to 20 degrees Celsius further south across Wales down towards the southeast.
03:07We're likely to see probably 24 to 26, so feeling very warm in any brighter breaks,
03:12but watch out for those heavy downpours.
03:16Now, as we head through Thursday evening and overnight,
03:19those showers continue for a time before they gradually ease.
03:23And what that means for Friday, there will be a few showers,
03:27particularly from the East Midlands, East Anglia, down towards the southeast.
03:30Elsewhere, some fine weather, a mix of cloud and sunshine.
03:34A similar situation into Saturday, probably the best day of the week
03:37where we'll see mostly dry conditions and some warm, brighter breaks coming through.
03:42I'll see you later.
