00:03An emergency road closure has been put in place following a bridge strike in Derbyshire.
00:08The closure is in place on Lee Road in Dromfield between the Forge and the junction with Chesterfield Road.
00:13It comes following an incident involving a bridge strike which saw part of the structure fall into the road below on Sunday.
00:20Lee Road Bridge is a Grade 2 listed building built in the 1870s for Midland Railway's Chesterfield to Sheffield line.
00:26A network rail spokesperson said,
00:28Our teams were made aware of a bridge strike incident near Dromfield Station.
00:33Our engineers attended the site, assessed the damage and are now undertaking urgent repair works to the bridge structure.
00:39Traffic management remains in place while repairs are being undertaken
00:41and we apologise for any inconvenience caused and will provide updates as work progresses.
00:49Derbyshire Wildlife Trust's Wilding Chesterfield project has received a £245,000 support from the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
00:56The project will aid nature's recovery in urban spaces and make it a priority for people who live there.
01:02With urban wildlife under increasing pressure, the project aims to turn the town streets into home for the species that were once thriving there,
01:10such as hedgehogs, bats, swifts and the Big Five pollinators, including flies, wasps, bees, butterflies and moths.
01:16Projects include creating hedgehog highways so they can move safely through gardens and installing swift boxes to replace dwindling nesting sites.
01:25Catherine Clark, Strategic Lead for Urban Rewilding at Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, said,
01:29Through community-led action, we are creating a space for nature in the town streets,
01:34supporting the recovery of species whilst also helping people reconnect with wildlife where they live.
