00:01Previously on Project Runway...
00:03For your next challenge, you'll be designing for a client.
00:07The winning look will be featured in a Marie Claire editorial.
00:12Dying.
00:13I would shape it kind of a slight cow.
00:16I hate cow.
00:17You think you can make this?
00:19It just feels a little dated.
00:21It's mousy and mousy.
00:22I'm feeling an awful bang in my stomach.
00:26The stitching here, I could do that in black.
00:28No.
00:29No.
00:34Kimberly, you're the winner of this challenge.
00:37If Nina came to the office in this, I would think that she was asking to be fired.
00:42The fabric is a disaster.
00:45You could have dyed this.
00:47It was too late.
00:48Cecilia, you gave up and you gave us way too many excuses.
00:52Julie, you're out.
00:55This!
00:56This!
00:57This!
00:58This is the search for the next big fashion designer.
01:01It's about style.
01:02Fashion.
01:03Attitude.
01:04Three finalists.
01:05And one winner.
01:06This is for real.
01:07Be good.
01:08Be great.
01:09This is Project Runway.
01:11The winner of Project Runway will receive $100,000 from Laurel Paris to start their own line.
01:16The fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine.
01:18The $50,000 technology suite from HP and Intel to enable their creativity and run their business.
01:24And the opportunity to design and sell an exclusive collection on PiperLime.com.
01:28The model paired with the winner of Project Runway will receive a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine and $25,000 from Laurel Paris Studio Secrets Professional.
01:37There are sneakers and t-shirts and shorts.
01:52I'm like, okay, it's an athletic challenge.
01:54Uh-oh.
01:55Cecilia.
01:56We have presents.
01:57Oh, no.
01:58Josh.
01:59What?
02:00Come here.
02:01Cecilia.
02:02We have presents.
02:03Oh, no.
02:04Josh.
02:05What?
02:06Come here.
02:07Cecilia, we have a note here.
02:11It says, good morning, designers.
02:13Meet Tim and me at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory in Washington Heights.
02:18To find out more about your next challenge.
02:20See you soon.
02:21Heidi.
02:22I am so hungry because the judges sent Julie home and I'm still here.
02:30I definitely want to step it up and show them some work that they will like.
02:35All right, ready?
02:42Ready?
02:43Okay.
02:48So we're all like racking our brains to figure out what twist they might have on this one.
02:54Good morning, designers.
02:55Good morning.
02:56Good morning.
02:57And welcome to the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory.
03:01I'm certain you're wondering why you're here.
03:03I thought that you guys might have a little cabin fever and I thought it would be fun to
03:08get out of the house.
03:09Get the blood flowing a little bit.
03:11Designers, for this challenge, you will be working in four teams of three and each team
03:17will have a team captain.
03:19So we have another team challenge and I just don't want Bert.
03:24I want to win and I want to choose the person who's going to work with me.
03:27I do not want Bert.
03:30And to determine who will be the team captain, you guys all have to run once around the track,
03:36which is 200 meters, and then the top four runners will be the team captains.
03:41When I saw Tim and Cecilia speaking, I knew it was serious.
03:45I knew this meant she was making some kind of a decision.
03:48Cecilia's thinking she doesn't want to continue.
03:51Oh, you don't?
03:53You just have to make that decision right now before they start running.
03:57I'd rather go.
04:00I really don't think I'm going to be helping anybody.
04:02Then you should go.
04:03Cecilia has made a decision she wants to share with you.
04:06I'm not running with you anymore and I wish you all the best.
04:09If Cecilia really and truly feels the way she says she does, then it's good that she's gone.
04:15Oh, now we run.
04:19Let's do this thing.
04:21On your mark, get set.
04:28Being the leader would be an amazing opportunity, so I'm going to run my fastest.
04:35Oh, shoot.
04:36Oh, my God.
04:37My God, Oliver.
04:38Look at this.
04:39One.
04:40I made the choice to win that race because I knew I could do an amazing job
04:44as a leader.
04:45Yeah.
04:46Good heavens.
04:47Bryce, two.
04:48Anthony, Ryan, three.
04:49Three.
04:50Four.
04:51Victor, four.
04:52Good going, guys.
04:55Wow.
04:56Look at that.
04:57That felt like...
04:58Good heavens.
04:59Oh, my gosh.
05:00That looks bad.
05:03Did Oliver just pass out?
05:09This looks bad.
05:10I felt this strange feeling of dizziness,
05:13and I couldn't really breathe.
05:14I couldn't feel my arms and legs.
05:16I had a panic attack.
05:20Can you join?
05:21I think I'll be fine.
05:23All right.
05:24I'm especially impressed by you, Joshua.
05:27Super fast.
05:28So you were the winner.
05:31Second best runner was?
05:32Bryce.
05:33Bryce.
05:34Congratulations.
05:35Third was Anthony Ryan.
05:37Congratulations.
05:38And fourth is Victor.
05:41You four get to choose who you want to design with.
05:46And Joshua, you were first, so you get to choose first.
05:49I think I'm going to go with Anya.
05:51I'm going to go with Kimberly.
05:54Yay!
05:55Laura.
05:56My team name.
05:57I am an Oliver fan, so I want Oliver.
06:02We would like to go with Becky.
06:08Woo!
06:09Okay.
06:10Bryce, who do you choose?
06:13I'm going to go with Danielle.
06:16Yeah.
06:17Anthony Ryan, this means Bert will be on your team.
06:20Oh, Lordy.
06:22Bert is definitely very stubborn.
06:23Bert is also very childish.
06:24This could be a total disaster.
06:25Victor and Oliver, obviously you guys are only two.
06:28So since it is early in the competition, we had a little idea.
06:31You can choose anyone that has been eliminated to come back and be on your team.
06:35And they also will be in the competition again.
06:37We got it.
06:38So who are you?
06:39We got it.
06:40We got it.
06:41We got it.
06:42We got it.
06:43We got it.
06:44We got it.
06:45We got it.
06:46We got it.
06:47We got it.
06:48We got it.
06:49We got it.
06:50So who would you like to bring back?
06:51Josh C.
06:52Woo!
06:53Yay!
06:54I think Josh C would do better coming back because I think he wants to learn more.
06:59Okay.
07:00Well, he will join us later today.
07:01Okay.
07:02I have been designing for New Balance for the last year.
07:05So I want you guys to create a look to go with my sneakers.
07:11Think fashion.
07:12Don't think about it just as gym.
07:14It could be a dress.
07:15It could be a suit.
07:17Think basic with a twist.
07:19You also must use the materials used in my sneakers, which is denim and suede.
07:23You can either use denim or suede or both.
07:27Okay.
07:28Each team will be responsible for three cohesive looks.
07:31The incentive to win this challenge is huge.
07:35The winning look will be manufactured and sold exclusively on Amazon.com and will be part
07:41of my line for New Balance.
07:43Wow.
07:44Oh my gosh.
07:45You're going to have 30 minutes to caucus as a team and sketch, and then we're going
07:49off to mood.
07:50So caucus and sketch.
07:52Oh my God, I'm so excited.
07:54I'm super excited because I've designed looks that go with this.
07:58So I have done knitwear that's bridging between fashion and sports.
08:02Right.
08:03I would like an off-the-shoulder dress that could be worn with leggings or without.
08:07No leggings.
08:08They are over.
08:09They are so honestly over.
08:11Okay.
08:12Uh-uh.
08:13Becky was chosen based on her energy and she can sew her butt off, but she's not someone
08:18that I think of as a style icon.
08:21I was thinking the idea of like, Cash of a chic.
08:24Mm-hmm.
08:25Like this is so cool and simple.
08:26I love it.
08:27And this one is like motorcycle-ish.
08:29So if we add that to it, that could be one look.
08:31It would be like a dormant sleeve, drapey, and it's a big cow hood.
08:36And if you put it the other way, it's a sweater dress.
08:39One shoulder and then trying to incorporate the denim throughout.
08:43If I did something like this with a cigarette pant.
08:45I bought a dress like that.
08:46No tears, yeah.
08:47No, not that.
08:48Yeah.
08:49Denim, black suede.
08:50Denim, black suede.
08:51It might be jail birdie, right?
08:52Oh.
08:53Designers, time is up.
08:56I want you to get back into your street clothes and then we're headed off to mood.
09:01Follow me.
09:05The team captains have a $300 budget.
09:08You have 30 minutes to shop and your time starts now.
09:12What about this color?
09:15Oh, that's pretty.
09:16What's really cool is the power.
09:17Okay.
09:18I don't want to get too sporty.
09:19I don't want to touch my shirt very.
09:21I think that's so cool.
09:22This actually is kind of fun.
09:23I like it.
09:24Okay.
09:25Yeah.
09:26Did you see this blue one?
09:27That's it.
09:28Yeah.
09:29Mine has to be drapey, guys.
09:30This will work for your shirt.
09:32Do that.
09:33Time is up.
09:34All right.
09:35Let's head back to Parsons.
09:36Thank you, mood.
09:38Thank you, mood.
09:39You found the leather and the suede that needs to be prominent in each look.
09:50It does not have to dominate it, but it needs to be evident.
09:53And, drum roll.
09:54What time?
09:55What time?
09:56What time?
09:57What time?
09:58Yeah.
09:59You have until 11 p.m. tonight.
10:01Oh, really?
10:02Oh, my God.
10:03What's up with midnight?
10:04What's up with midnight?
10:05Have fun with this, all right?
10:07It's Heidi's challenge.
10:09If this is simplified, you're going to have to start designing these a little more crazy.
10:14I'd rather have the jacket beat the butt part, wouldn't you?
10:16Yeah.
10:17I just want you to be successful, that's all.
10:19I don't think that's the coolest idea.
10:20I don't think that's the coolest idea.
10:21I'm definitely worried about what we will be able to accomplish because, you know, Bryce
10:25has been in the bottom, so it's a little concerning.
10:29Oh, my gosh.
10:30Welcome, Josh, back to the competition.
10:31Every day I've been gone, I felt like I would move heaven and earth to come back.
10:48Okay.
10:49Are you excited?
10:50Yes.
10:51Okay, well, it's time to work because we're working.
10:53Get to work, everybody.
10:54Nice to see you.
10:55Bye.
10:56And that was over.
10:57Coming up on Project Runway.
10:58How is Dowdy a good work?
11:00I'm not having drama with you.
11:01If you're tired, take a nap.
11:03Your demographic is 40 to death.
11:05Oh, God.
11:11He's working on the top right now.
11:12Okay.
11:13So, he could work on the skirt.
11:14Got it.
11:15I'll just start doing that.
11:16Today's challenge is to design three looks that women would want to wear with the sneakers
11:22that Heidi has designed for New Balance.
11:24The winning look from that group will actually have that garment manufactured and sold on Amazon.com.
11:30Are you rompering this or is this a jumper?
11:33It's a romper.
11:34Should this be a maxi and stuff?
11:36I love maxi with sneakers.
11:37I love...
11:38That's a cute idea.
11:39Don't you think?
11:40Take it, maxi.
11:41Do we have enough yardage?
11:42I really want to have an input in this challenge because I've worked with knitwear.
11:47I've worked with this stuff before.
11:48You like this?
11:49Yeah, I think that would make a great bag too.
11:51I might have time for a bag.
11:52Well, let me finish these panels so we can get that cut.
11:55I need Becky to be working, sewing, and completing these garments.
11:59The only thing that's concerning me is that tennis shoes and a long skirt.
12:03It looks droopy and almost like Amish.
12:05I know they're going to say that.
12:07I already know.
12:08It's Amish.
12:09Yeah.
12:10Bert, what you think?
12:11First and foremost, the captain needs to keep the piece.
12:14I don't really like it.
12:15But the neckline's pretty.
12:16But Bert is just very difficult to work with.
12:19From the comments to just his overall attitude.
12:22It's sour.
12:23We need to incorporate this fabric into yours as well.
12:26Mm-hmm.
12:27Let's see.
12:30Uh-oh.
12:31Hi, designers.
12:33Hi.
12:34So Heidi and I are making the rounds together.
12:36All right, team Bryce, talk to us about what you're doing.
12:39We are trying to do kind of these off-the-shoulder silhouettes.
12:44Which is a hoodie?
12:45It's kind of like a cowl neck that goes over.
12:47It's a cowl hoodie.
12:48Cowl hoodie.
12:49You can play with it.
12:50Is that really fashion-forward?
12:52Is that really cool?
12:53Is there a dress?
12:54Do you have a dress?
12:55Yes.
12:56So this is the shape.
12:57It looks very boxy.
12:58Yeah, we basically have to start over and we don't have much time.
13:02Welcome back, Josh.
13:04It's nice to be back.
13:05I'm making a denim jacket and the sleeves are leather.
13:08I kind of wanted to make it a little bit motorcycle but not too motorcycle.
13:11This is a little bit more of a casual top.
13:14The skirt is a long skirt.
13:16It's like this.
13:17This looks like something Auntie I'm whipped up at home.
13:19Yeah, it's a bit barmy.
13:20You immediately said this looks like something you wear on a farm.
13:23And I thought, you know, I can prove you wrong.
13:25Make something cool.
13:26Hello.
13:27Hello.
13:28Lori, why don't you go ahead and talk?
13:30All right.
13:31What I'm doing is a suede jacket and then when you reveal underneath, it's a fun bodice
13:37and then the netting's carried through crossing.
13:39You guys all loved this net?
13:41Um, I did.
13:42I have a little complication.
13:43My model seems a really large grayed out to how big this portion is.
13:48Because she has a big gadong gadong.
13:50Yes.
13:51Real big.
13:52Hello.
13:53Hi.
13:54What do you think?
13:55Would you wear this?
13:56No.
13:57You like modern, sexy clothes.
13:58Yeah.
13:59It's like a sexy racer back.
14:01What have you been doing, Becky?
14:02You're very quiet.
14:03I patterned this dress.
14:05I sewed that dress.
14:07Are you just sewing and you two are designing?
14:10So far.
14:11But here's my concern.
14:12I don't want your role to be so trivialized, in a manner of speaking, that you're thrown
14:17under the bus.
14:18Oh, my God.
14:19I didn't quite see it that way, but that's not good.
14:23It's 9 o'clock.
14:24You only have two hours to go.
14:26You guys are way behind.
14:28I have to tell you that I am a little bit worried.
14:31This is a big challenge.
14:33I'm going to give you guys until 4 o'clock in the morning.
14:36Really?
14:37That would be amazing.
14:38Hooray.
14:39Bye.
14:40Bye.
14:41Bye.
14:43That's amazing.
14:44This will make an amazing mini skirt.
14:46Will you let me design the top for the skirt?
14:48Becky, you do dowdy dresses.
14:51You know that.
14:52Excuse me?
14:53This is not cool.
14:55I'm leaving.
14:56Uh-oh.
14:57You called my stuff dowdy.
15:00That wasn't meant as a bad thing.
15:02It is a bad thing.
15:03Why is it a bad thing?
15:04How is dowdy a good word in any situation?
15:07Style-wise, it's not a fashion...
15:09No, I don't think dowdy is a bad thing.
15:11You told me to make a princess seam dress, and I made it.
15:14Okay.
15:15So you can't blame me for the dress being dumpy or not cool.
15:19I'm not having drama with you, Becky.
15:21So you can cry and do whatever you need to do to get over it.
15:25But I will not sit here and console you like you're a baby.
15:29You're a grown woman.
15:30Seriously, you're nuts.
15:31You can stop and breathe if you need to.
15:34Okay?
15:35Don't keep doing this.
15:36You're upset.
15:38Okay?
15:39It's just his opinion and there's nothing to dress you.
15:42Becky, if you're tired, take a nap.
15:45Cause I don't have time for it.
15:46I'll do it myself.
15:47Gosh.
15:54Coming up on Project Runway.
15:56Drop dead.
15:57Drop dead?
15:58Yeah, just go away.
15:59He's gonna be out.
16:00Holy .
16:01My fate feels completely out of my hands.
16:03Here we go.
16:15Can we have a moment, please?
16:16Listen.
16:17I apologize.
16:18I know we are all tired and we are all under stress.
16:19And I did not mean to have it come off that way.
16:20Sometimes my head is speaking before I'm registering what I'm saying.
16:35Yeah.
16:36I've apologized and I do mean it and I hope that she can accept that.
16:40You for your armado.
16:41I hope so.
16:42Guys, here's the leather.
16:43What do you think, Laura?
16:44I don't know.
16:45I'm just like, the skirt with the tennis shoes just isn't reading right to me at all.
16:47I think so, too.
16:48Well, that's all I got, so.
16:49Well, I know, but I mean, I'm restarting cigarette pants cause we needed to rethink,
16:50you know.
16:51We can't all have pants.
16:52When a team doesn't work together, it's emotionally exhausting.
16:53If we get up there and they're like, what is going on here?
16:54I think it looks very modern and young.
16:55But Laura and I are like, we told him that she can accept that.
16:56Mm-hm.
16:57Mm-hm.
16:58He didn't want to compromise, whatever, but that we're not throwing you under the bus.
16:59Right.
17:00Not at all.
17:01Right.
17:02Not at all.
17:03On runway day morning, I feel like crap.
17:06I'm just kind of half here.
17:07I'm running for you.
17:08He's driving.
17:09Isn't he?
17:10Yeah.
17:11Yeah.
17:12It's that, yeah.
17:13Yeah, you feel like a Helsinki close up there.
17:16Yeah.
17:17How are you?
17:18Are you still watching at the border between 10,000 and 43,000 and 45,000 and 45,000?
17:21Not at all.
17:23Yeah, come on.
17:24And at the time you're off to.
17:26You think that's a little funny, aren't you?
17:27I'm just so scared of everything to the rest.
17:28I'm just hanging out.
17:29I'm just kind of half here, I'm running fever.
17:34Good morning, everyone.
17:35Good morning.
17:36All right, it's a big runway day.
17:37You have two hours to send your models
17:39to the L'Oreal Paris makeup room
17:41and to the Garnier hair studio.
17:44The Piper Lime wall, use it thoughtfully.
17:50You gonna be long, Bert?
17:52A while, I'm putting the zipper in.
17:56I didn't see your name on this machine.
17:57You have no courtesy, especially at your...
18:00Josh, it's not all about Josh, okay?
18:02It's not all about Josh, Bert,
18:04but it's not all about Bert and Bert.
18:05Where does it say on this machine that you're using it?
18:08Watch your language with me, please.
18:10Drop dead?
18:11Yeah, just go away.
18:12Bert, you're closer to death than I am,
18:14so I will be careful when I see this.
18:15Death might be a blessing with you around.
18:18Hey.
18:21Hi, gorgeous.
18:22Jump it up a little bit so it can be seen up there.
18:24A little bit of color on the cheek,
18:25neutral lip with a little bit of gloss.
18:27I just want to make sure they look really fresh.
18:32Slick-packed bony-tail, kind of low.
18:45The time has come.
18:46We're going down to the runway.
18:47Here we go.
18:49What a cute jacket.
18:50Welcome to the runway.
18:59As you know, in fashion, one day you're in,
19:01and the next day, you're out.
19:06Josh, you're back.
19:07I'm back.
19:08Welcome back.
19:10For this challenge, you worked in teams of three,
19:13and we asked each team to create three fashionable looks
19:17that can be worn with sneakers.
19:22Okay, let's meet the judges.
19:23First, we have CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award winner,
19:26Michael Kors.
19:27Hey, guys.
19:28Fashion director for Marie Claire Magazine, Nina Garcia.
19:31Hello.
19:33And guest judge, model, and designer, Aaron Wasson.
19:37Hi, Aaron.
19:38Nice to meet you guys.
19:39Welcome.
19:40We will score your designs as they come down the runway.
19:43One of you will be named the winner.
19:44One of you will be out.
19:46Okay, let's start the show.
19:58I am very excited.
20:01My model number one is working it.
20:02I told her to be very rock and roll.
20:05The motorcycle jacket looks amazing,
20:07and the dress is totally working.
20:10I think the whole vibe is really cool.
20:12I'm just loving the whole look.
20:16I think it looks phenomenal.
20:22It's definitely a wearable rocker kind of look
20:28that I feel like a lot of people would want to wear.
20:31I just feel like it looks fantastic.
20:41We managed to reach a certain level of cohesion
20:46and also present a decently interesting collection,
20:50so I thought that was an amazing job done.
21:03Out of our collection, my dress is my favorite.
21:07I think it's very cute.
21:08I think a lot of girls would like to wear it,
21:10and I think it looks very polished.
21:13I really am proud of my dress.
21:14I think it looks so good.
21:20I am pleasantly surprised.
21:22I really like it.
21:23We decided to use snap details.
21:25We have black suede going,
21:27and all the looks look great with the New Balance sneakers.
21:30We really pulled it together at the last minute.
21:31As I'm watching my team's collection come down the runway,
21:41I think it looks really good.
21:43It looks cohesive.
21:44I was a big contributor to the overall look,
21:47so without that, I think the collection could have gone
21:50in a totally different direction.
21:51My look just fell apart.
22:04You know, to me, it looks like a hot mess.
22:06It was not me.
22:08It was not anything that I typically would do.
22:12I sent gym shorts down the runway.
22:14I really should have stuck with my gut on this one.
22:22The vest looks good, but the rest of it
22:25just is not exactly the correct fabric that I wanted to use,
22:28and it was literally put together in the morning.
22:32But I do think my look works with the shoes.
22:34I think that that's a saving point.
22:43It looks amazingly fresh and young,
22:46and what I wanted it to look like.
22:48I could see some things that I didn't like
22:49about the construction, but I thought it looked great.
23:02I'm pretty happy with how it looks.
23:07It's very me.
23:08I thought there was a great flavor and a great feel to it,
23:11and it was very fresh.
23:13There's something also really, you know,
23:15urban and ethnic and fantastic about it.
23:25I'm a little concerned about my look
23:26because it's not 100% my design,
23:29but I have to own it, you know,
23:30or I'm going to look like an idiot,
23:31even though it's not completely mine.
23:34I think the collection looks decent, so I have hope.
23:44On my own dress, there are little things
23:45that I would tweak,
23:46and it doesn't necessarily read athletic wear,
23:50so there's definitely a little anxiety.
23:53But overall, it looks great,
23:54and I think this piece is something that people will wear.
24:01Well, this was a little bit all over the place today.
24:17Within each team, we had looks that we liked
24:21and looks that we didn't like so much.
24:23And this means that there wasn't a clear high or lower team.
24:30So now we have to talk to all of you guys
24:33and figure out who did what.
24:36We will talk to Joshua and Anthony Ryan's team first,
24:41and the rest of you can leave the runway,
24:43and we'll bring you back out in a little bit.
24:54All right, let's bring out your models.
25:03Anthony Ryan, please tell us about your looks
25:05and who did what.
25:07The first one's Bert.
25:08He did a skirt and then worked with the print
25:11in a little bit of a different way
25:12from his original sketch.
25:13The second one's mine.
25:15I'm not crazy about the bottom half.
25:16In the end, it felt like gym shorts.
25:18And then Laura did the last one.
25:20We still kept the original top that she had
25:22because that was one of the things you really like.
25:24And how did you guys work together?
25:27Laura and I worked very well together.
25:29Bert, I feel like he just kind of, you know,
25:32didn't want too much to do with us.
25:35I sort of disagree with that.
25:37I walked up to them, I said,
25:38listen, let's do this as a team.
25:39They said, sketch something a little drapier.
25:42So I went with the top that you saw.
25:44Anthony Ryan, do you like Bert's look?
25:46No, I don't.
25:47I think it looks like a cocktail waitress.
25:49And I expressed that to him from the get-go,
25:51and he was not willing to compromise or change
25:53with what me and Laura's opinions both were.
25:56Here's the one thing that I asked is that we...
25:58Our tastes are very, very different.
26:00We did have that conversation, did we not?
26:02That Anthony and I felt that...
26:04Your looks needed to change.
26:05Which I agree.
26:06And yours did too.
26:06I don't think it is.
26:07That's my opinion.
26:08You see, the thing is Laura and I were willing
26:10to work with each other.
26:12And I even said from the get-go,
26:14this looks like a cocktail dress.
26:16I'm sorry, you're wrong.
26:16That she threw on sneakers with.
26:18And there is no confronting you,
26:19and there's no budging with you.
26:20I've pulled you on the sides trying to express to you
26:24how people feel.
26:24You have not.
26:25That's a...
26:26That's a lie, Bert.
26:27Well, good.
26:28I agree with you.
26:29Okay.
26:29You're just lying right now, right?
26:31No, I'm not.
26:31Yes, you are.
26:32Now that you got it all out, it feels good?
26:33Yeah, it feels good, finally.
26:35You can see that you had problems
26:37without anyone saying anything.
26:38Yeah.
26:39Yeah.
26:39Anthony Ryan, you are saying that Bert's outfit,
26:43she's a cocktail waitress.
26:44Where is yours going?
26:46Nowhere.
26:47Instead of spending so much time focusing on Bert,
26:52I think you should have spent some time on your outfit.
26:55This looks like pajamas.
26:56You achieved the impossible.
26:59The shorts are big and tight at the same time.
27:02She has camel toe in big shorts.
27:05What's it look like from behind?
27:07Yeah, I was just going to say, what's the back?
27:08Worse?
27:09Oh.
27:10Yeah.
27:12Got a camel butt, too.
27:14If you look at Bert's piece,
27:15I think that there's a sophistication there.
27:18Bert's look is the only good outfit
27:20standing on that runway from your team.
27:23Does it look ultimately appropriate
27:26for what this is all about?
27:28No.
27:28But at least you ended up with a garment
27:30that is presentable.
27:32I mean, the other two were so wrapped up in this war
27:37that, I mean, you ended up with a mess.
27:39And also the top underneath, if you
27:41would take that jacket off and show us that.
27:43It's a silk jersey.
27:44And I don't.
27:45Put the vest on.
27:48It's rough.
27:49I think the attempt of the vest is quite nice.
27:51If you had something long and drapey,
27:53it could be that sort of grungy, sort of loose vibe.
27:56Yeah.
27:57What do you have to say for yourself and your team?
27:59I mean, all I can say is that I just got caught up
28:02in just trying to work with everyone.
28:04Laura was a pleasure to work with.
28:05She and I really tried to just help each other out.
28:07I think that's what a team should be.
28:09It was distracting and hard.
28:11And yeah, I'm not the outcome I think we were hoping for.
28:15But Joshua.
28:17As the leader, I had a hand probably in most of the pieces.
28:21But I primarily did Sonia, who is in the middle.
28:24Becky worked on our first look.
28:27And Anya took the initiative on our maxi dress.
28:31The hours that I gave you guys to design more clothes,
28:34I feel like you used it to start bedazzling your clothes.
28:38Well, I love a great pop color.
28:40And I think, you know, the hot pink,
28:41it gives it a little something, but it's not too over the top.
28:44In terms of my piece, without the detailing on the front,
28:47it really looked really generic.
28:49Your look is my favorite look.
28:51It goes really well with the sneakers.
28:54It walked great down the runway.
28:55I love the back.
28:57I think it's sexy.
28:58I think it's now, I think that there's tons of girls
29:01that would want to wear that in the summer.
29:03It's very flattering on the collarbone.
29:04And I think it looked, the fit is really beautiful.
29:08What bothers me a little bit about that dress,
29:11you took something very soft.
29:14You tried to tailor it a little bit too much.
29:17Now, Joshua, your outfit is the middle, right?
29:20Mm-hmm.
29:21I like the top.
29:22I'm very confused about this shredded jacket.
29:25I actually like Joshua's look.
29:28I like the shredded vest.
29:29What's on the side of your shorts over there?
29:31It's the denim.
29:32I actually appreciate the fact that when you look closely,
29:35there's all these small details.
29:36But the one that I really I don't like is Becky's,
29:40because I think the T-shirt is too short.
29:43That's true.
29:44I agree.
29:45The skirt is too tight.
29:47It's just bad.
29:49It looks tight.
29:49I wouldn't say it's all Becky's,
29:51because I did have a lot of direction within that.
29:53T-shirt looks like you hacked up a dress.
29:55Oh, OK.
29:56The T-shirt's, unfortunately, about three inches too short.
29:59We did have a little thing.
30:01We had a disagreement.
30:02If you want to go on a thing.
30:04It shows.
30:05Joshua and I had a disagreement.
30:06Tell us what happened.
30:08Becky came to me and said, I know that I can make a top
30:11to match the skirt.
30:12As a leader, like, I need to give people
30:14the opportunity to design it.
30:15Actually, he didn't trust me to design something.
30:18I just can't have anything that's going to be dowdy.
30:22Because you think she's a designer that does dowdy clothes.
30:25I don't think she's dowdy.
30:26I think the clothes that she's doing might be a little
30:29on that edge of what I see.
30:30So you basically are saying you designed this.
30:32We designed the skirt together.
30:34She designed the top for us as a group.
30:36I won the race.
30:37I'm the leader.
30:37Every idea I had was shot down immediately.
30:40So she's going to be upset and throw me under the bus
30:42that I had the authority to tell her what to do.
30:44There's nothing that I can do further about it.
30:46You guys could have had a fist fight,
30:48but they have the same fighting,
30:49but you have more of a collection than they have.
30:52At least you guys hit a stride of synchronicity.
30:54That's an accomplishment.
30:58OK, we've heard what you had to say.
31:00Now we're going to talk to the other teams.
31:02And then I'll call you back out.
31:03You can leave the runway.
31:04Thank you, thank you.
31:10All right, Victor.
31:11The strongest one that we thought was going to lead
31:13was Erica in the middle.
31:14Oliver did this top.
31:16He designed this, and Joshua sewed it.
31:19I did the jacket, and also I did the dress.
31:23Joshua did the top, and Oliver did the pants.
31:26My favorite look is yours.
31:29The dress is quite cute.
31:31I love the leather jacket.
31:32I mean, the jacket, I have to say, is really well done.
31:37Oliver's skirt, I think it just looks very farm.
31:42This is very Sound of Music.
31:44Maybe it's for Heidi's German kind of background.
31:47Who designed the t-shirt and the holster?
31:49I did.
31:49It looks modern.
31:50I like the fabric.
31:51She looks great.
31:53What I love about the t-shirt, it's really interesting,
31:55because this is meant to be streetwear.
31:56And the way that you've done the holster looks like a backpack.
31:59Everybody's always trying to reinvent the t-shirt.
32:01And I like the angle of the neck.
32:03I really like this collection.
32:04I like this kind of road warrior look.
32:07Who came up with this vibe?
32:09I probably brought it up because of the jacket.
32:13The jacket is such a motorcycle jacket, so it's a little edgy girl.
32:16Bryce.
32:17I did the dress here in the middle.
32:19Danielle did the tank there on the end, and the leather jacket here.
32:23Kimberly did the shorts, this knit top, and the skirt there on the end.
32:29Your dress looks fantastic.
32:31I like the shoulder line, the darting with the pleat at the waist, the snaps on the side.
32:36It's a garment that works with the sneaker, but also could be with heels.
32:42You had full control over your own look.
32:45I think this turquoise silk rag tank is just terrible.
32:52The blouse is just like a souffle that flopped.
32:55I feel like you are doing that same thing.
32:58You've done the green blouse before, and now it's kind of a version.
33:01It did start out as something different, and then it was going to go with a short,
33:05like a tight-fitting short, but we scrapped that.
33:07And that's a bra underneath, or is it that?
33:09Oh, no, it's the lining that's sort of...
33:11The knit.
33:12Oh, it's knit, lining in black, in the silk.
33:17You know that you can't make those two things together.
33:19It's really, it's sloppy.
33:21What I don't understand is why all of a sudden you put this color in, but it's nowhere else.
33:30We were just thinking three-piece collection.
33:31We wanted one area of a pop color.
33:34The haphazard top of the turquoise would be so much more hidden under that jacket,
33:38and I think the jacket and its details would pop more.
33:41Okay, we've heard what you had to say.
33:43We're going to have a little chat, maybe a big chat, and then I'll call you back out.
33:47You can leave the runway.
33:49I don't know if I remember people having that many problems within a group ever before on Project Budway.
34:03I mean, especially Anthony Ryan's team.
34:06I mean, they seem to not get it together at all.
34:09God, I'm so surprised, especially from him.
34:11Not one bit.
34:12If you're the team leader, you have to make sure that your team works as a team.
34:16The whole group's a mess.
34:18It's a mess, and he's responsible for that, that the whole group is a mess.
34:20Did he spend all his time fighting with Bert?
34:22No camaraderie.
34:23He's the team leader.
34:24At least his outfit should have been the inspiration point for the rest, but his outfit, it was
34:32the worst.
34:33And that poor girl, the way her crotch was looking.
34:35I know that girl walked out here and was bummed to have to walk and wear that outfit.
34:40I don't know what happened.
34:42He lost control of the bus.
34:44With that group, we also had Joshua, Anya, and Becky.
34:51Obviously, there was a lot of friction here, too, but Joshua's having none of it.
34:55I think he's smart, you know?
34:57I agree.
34:58For him to step up and articulate the fact that he chose one girl straight off of vibe and
35:02another girl off of skill, that's a leader.
35:05He picked the right team.
35:06He directed them well.
35:07He was involved in every garment there.
35:09You've got a cool pair of shorts.
35:12I like the tie-dyed tank.
35:14I think the little fringed vest is great.
35:17And I think the maxi dress is great.
35:19To me, this is very sellable.
35:21He really did a good job.
35:22Yeah.
35:23Then let's go to Victor's team.
35:25It's a very urban look.
35:27It's slouchy with heart.
35:28Yes, it's cool.
35:29I like that.
35:30That's my favorite.
35:31Yeah.
35:32I just didn't love that skirt.
35:33Yeah, I think the skirt's the only weak link here.
35:36Victor did a great job.
35:37He was a great captain and his look that he designed and so it is one of the best ones
35:42there.
35:43That's the most ambitious garment.
35:44You bet.
35:45Executed really well.
35:48I'm telling you, Victor has really stepped it up.
35:50And then we have Bryce's team.
35:52These are the kind of clothes that, in fact, you would wear with sneakers.
35:56It's modern and it is the right attitude.
35:59Bryce, Bryce, Bryce.
36:00I love that dress.
36:02You could even do that out of like a sweatshirt material.
36:04I think the shape works so well.
36:07It's great on a million girls because it's going to do great things for your body the
36:10way it's cut.
36:11Yeah.
36:12That's real thought.
36:13Real thought.
36:14Danielle is a bit of a problem.
36:15She has very ambitious plans and then she cannot deliver.
36:20She thinks that she's a wizard with chiffon and soft silk.
36:25I know.
36:26She always has to do that.
36:27Stop with the silk.
36:28It's not sportswear to me either.
36:29It's not sporty at all.
36:30No.
36:31Aaron, who do you think is the worst one today on that runway?
36:36I think that Anthony Ryan's piece was just messy.
36:39He was the team leader and he messed up.
36:41But he's got more promise as a designer.
36:45We go week by week, challenge by challenge.
36:47Yes, and I've seen challenge by challenge.
36:49He failed in all of it this week.
36:51Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
36:52I don't know if it's so cut and dry.
36:54See, I always thought that our show was cut and dry.
36:57One day you're in, the next day you're out.
37:00It's not fair to let him go on when someone else, like Danielle, did actually something
37:06that was all right.
37:07What has Danielle done?
37:08What has Danielle done?
37:09Can you remember anything that's good?
37:10Do you remember anything that Danielle has done that you've liked?
37:13This jacket today.
37:14She did an okay jacket and a really bad chiffon top.
37:18I like her jacket.
37:19So who's going today?
37:21I don't know.
37:26Well, some of your teams worked well together and some did not.
37:34And you have made this a very confusing judging for us.
37:40So I want to do one more thing to mix it up.
37:55This is my challenge.
37:57So now I want to do one more thing to mix it up.
38:03Victor, you are the winner of this challenge.
38:08Oh, thank God.
38:10Congratulations.
38:11So good.
38:16Josh, you're also the winner of this challenge.
38:21Oh.
38:22Awesome.
38:23Two winners.
38:24Why not?
38:25Yay.
38:26Victoria, your dress and your jacket will be manufactured and sold as part of my line
38:36for New Balance exclusively on Amazon.com.
38:38Oh, my God.
38:40That's awesome.
38:41Joshua, your team's maxi dress will also be produced and sold.
38:46Congratulations.
38:47Very cool.
38:51You both will also have immunity for the next challenge and cannot be eliminated.
38:55Also, your teams are in.
38:57You all can leave the runway.
39:03Bert, you're in.
39:08Laura, you're in.
39:12You can leave the runway.
39:15Kimberly, you're in.
39:25Bryce, you're in.
39:37Danielle, Anthony Ryan, one of you will be out.
39:46This was not an easy decision, nor was it unanimous.
39:53Danielle, you bored us again with another poorly made chiffon blouse.
40:01Anthony Ryan, you completely fell apart on this challenge.
40:09Anthony Ryan, you're in, and you can leave the runway.
40:29Danielle, I'm sorry, that means you're out.
40:36All the best to you.
40:38Thank you, everyone.
40:39Bye-bye.
40:40I'm sad to leave all the great people that I've met, and disappointed to have to leave the
40:44competition now.
40:45Danielle.
40:46Hey.
40:47I'm so sorry.
40:48It's okay.
40:49Oh, my God.
40:50I'm going to take her away.
40:51Oh.
40:52It was a tough one today, huh?
40:53Yeah.
40:54But I have to tell you, it was a tough one today, huh?
40:56Yeah.
40:57But I have to tell you all, I am so proud of you.
41:01I have such admiration and respect for each of you for being just very straightforward
41:05and honest and truth-telling on that runway.
41:08And Danielle, I have to send you to the work room to clean up your space.
41:12Love you guys.
41:13Bye.
41:14Bye.
41:15You know, I don't really have any regrets.
41:20I definitely don't think that my look was the worst on the runway.
41:25I don't think that I should have gone.
41:27I think that I'm a great designer.
41:30Next time on Project Runway, I'm going to send you back to school to further your education.
41:35Working with children.
41:37How cute is that?
41:38Losing my mind.
41:40It looks like Carmen Miranda in a vampire.
41:43I don't think this is doing enough.
41:45He's worried more about being safe than showing us what he's made of.
41:49Just don't want to blow it again.
41:50You've actually glued the top to your model.
41:53It's against the rules.
41:54You're out of here.
41:55I'm going to be your hooker for Halloween.
41:57It looked like something a Teletubby would wear to a party.
42:00This is just too outside the box.
42:02They're Valium clothes.
