00:00Hello, I'm Stefan Vogel. I'm General Manager for Rabobank's Research in Australia and New Zealand.
00:05I'm here at Innovation Generation and it's a fantastic time to be with young people
00:08because the world is getting more complicated. We see geopolitics influencing prices quite heavily
00:14on the input side with fertilizers and energy, but also when it comes to marketing our grains
00:19in oilseeds. It's always discussing the flows of goods across borders, what the tariffs do to us
00:24in terms of beef, but also how we can actually be happy that canola still moves across the borders
00:30between the Americas back and forth, between Canada and the US, so that we're not facing too much
00:36competition from Canada in addition to what we already see. And I just think it's a unique
00:40opportunity because there's so much energy in this room, young farmers getting together from
00:44the country all over and building a network, but also taking a few things back home to farm.
00:50This is the generation that will farm the future here and I really love to see that young people
00:56are actually getting into the agri-space. As a European, I have to say, this is the place to be
01:01in agriculture in Australia, so that's why I'm here. And it's so lovely to have actually a lot of different,
01:07also a lot of female in the room, so it's a really mixed crowd and it's just fantastic to actually
01:13have the vibe with everybody that's puzzling in the daytime, it's puzzling in the lunch breaks,
01:18but it is also good to see them in the room really engaged.
