A 50-year-old attorney at law has been charged for perverting the course of justice. The arrest comes days after the attorney was detained and later released. His arrest is connected to the case of Candice Honore's murder, the young woman found chopped and stuffed into a suitcase in the Valencia area, last week. 00:08According to the TTPS on Saturday, the charge was laid following legal consultation with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
00:17It stems from ongoing investigations into the murder of 22-year-old Candice Honoree,
00:22whose decomposing body was discovered stuffed in a suitcase in Valencia last week Thursday.
00:28According to police, the attorney was initially detained on suspicion of harboring a person of interest linked to the case.
00:36However, a recent habeas corpus ruling determined that his prior detention exceeded the permitted limit.
00:43The TTPS on Saturday says, following a detailed case conference with DPP Roger Gasper, legal advice was issued to proceed with the charge.
00:52The attorney was re-arrested today by officers of the Homicide Bureau's intelligence team, supported by members of the Eastern Division Task Force.
01:01He will appear before Master of the High Court in the coming days.

01:42On Thursday, 27-year-old Michael Moore of Sangri Grandi, honoree's ex-boyfriend, was charged for her murder.
01:50When he appeared in court, a sufficiency hearing was set for January and Moore was remanded in custody.
01:57Honoree was laid to rest following a funeral service earlier today.
