00:00on you have had a legendary career before even getting to the pfl anybody who has followed you
00:05knows that you know the names that you have had on your record you have fought rousey tate shevchenko
00:10you know up and down santos up and down you know any women who has been big in the flyweight division
00:15you know since it started pretty much 20 years ago or got big 20 years ago to now you know you
00:20have been in there against the best of the best you know besting many of them and now you look
00:24to do that again in this tournament for the pfl in 2025 what's it been like for you i know
00:29obviously you know that you have looked back at this point in your career and you know seen where
00:34you've been because i heard the first broadcast that first fight they were talking about how you
00:37know you you have your bucket list of things you want to do before you're done so you've obviously
00:41looked back and seen what you've done you've gone through the career before you know in retrospect
00:45what's that been like for you to see where you've gotten at this point in your career after all these
00:50years of fighting and you know where you probably started thinking about what this was going to be
00:54to where you've become yeah it's been a crazy journey definitely kind of pictured for one myself
00:59fighting in the flyweight division um but then having the off the lanes of accomplishments that
01:03i've been able to achieve so far and i just want to keep adding to there's a lot of things that i
01:08would want to have success on my career and be able to fulfill for my own satisfaction and that's
01:13what i'm looking to do in each of these tournaments as i keep competing
01:16well you've had a great journey so far and it continues now uh you know you came into this tournament
01:23this year you fought in all different organizations you know different formats different types of
01:27the way things are going but you know what's it been like for you making this adjustment into the
01:31pfl in 2025 with this tournament obviously you started with you know you had the tournament last
01:35year with the pfl but it was a different format with the playoffs and the regular season and the
01:39points and all that you know just straight bracket style that they went to this year how's that been
01:43for you uh what's the change been making these bunch of fights quickly in a couple of months here
01:48and how have you felt have you gone through these couple fights
01:50yeah i felt good going through the fights and then uh the change definitely makes it
01:55a lot smoother just in the sense that you're not having to try and figure out how things work
02:01logistically points that just because you accomplished one doesn't mean you succeed and
02:05continue on into the tournament this is it's cut and dry you win you lose you win you go forward
02:10you lose you go home and that's pretty cut and dry makes it easy to really focus on what you need to
02:15achieve and uh i'm just coming out here looking at guns blazing get that strong finish and come
02:20out with the championship one and you've done a great job with it so far obviously you know
02:25dispatching your opponents with not much damage to you i mean the first fight i went pretty quickly
02:30against joan uh you know there was a uh when we just came out and dominated you got one of those
02:34bucket list things with the liver shot uh you know what was that like for you to come in there and
02:39get that big win not go deep into a fight not to take too much damage or expend too much just
02:43you know did it help you be ready to go for the semifinals much easier yeah absolutely uh knowing
02:49that i could go back to the gym the next morning with absolutely no damage gas tank feeling good body
02:54feeling good um is always like a a point of comfort and knowing that you have everything you need all
03:01the tools and your body's in the shape it needs to so it's really just refining things for you
03:05uh so that was really good going into the semifinals be out there to get a really game opponent
03:10a tough one that was going to push me and needed to be healthy for it
03:15well you did a great job then right into the semifinals and right back into action you know
03:19this one went all the distance it was a unanimous decision but you know still one where you controlled
03:24where you wanted to be you were doing your thing against donna you know she was a tough opponent
03:28she stuck in there with you but you know just really uh another you know clinic almost for you
03:33just putting on the performance you wanted to and just showing the experience and the veteran
03:37you know domination that you did uh against donna what was that like was she tougher than you
03:41expected that you know she was able to go the whole distance or did you you know expect that
03:45to be a tougher one being the semifinals and being you know that much step closer to the big check here
03:50at the end yeah of course in the semifinals you expect it to be a tougher fight right because
03:55you're progressing and the people that are going forward to the winners um but i honestly didn't
03:59think she was going to be that game of opponents i came out as a surprise she was so much tougher
04:04than what i anticipated and it really made me push myself and take it to a new level so it was a
04:09great fight and a great experience for me against a really humble and respectable opponent which is my
04:14favorite kind and now this propels you into the finals into the possibility of the big payday here
04:20against another tough uh american and veteran and jenna bishop both of you uh have been around for a
04:25while uh similar style with you know the grinding down and you're trying to control your opponent
04:30uh what does it do for you now when you meet up against her uh is it easier for you to fight
04:35somebody who you know has a similar style to you because you know which ways to attack is it tougher
04:39because you know maybe the openings aren't the same especially with her having been around like you
04:43for a while fighting different women at different styles what's it like for you as you prepare for
04:48this fight how different is it facing someone who has that similar grinding style like you do
04:53yeah i feel like our styles are not similar to both i mean for one i think that uh when it comes to
04:59striking that's on her comfort level where she looks for is the opportunity to capitalize on the
05:04ground and in more traditional jiu-jitsu style and i come from 10 plan backgrounds so my style is very
05:09different and um but i do think that us having a very strong grappling sense and uh both having
05:16trained with justin flores and feeling comfort when it comes to grappling exchanges for takedowns
05:22i definitely think that that's going to to play in and make it that much more alluring and exciting
05:28for the fans to watch
