00:00Why don't we just get right into those first and foremost male fighter, female

00:06fighter of the year for the PFL this year for us the ones that we looked at

00:10that we thought maybe should make this list and be in the running you brought

00:13up Musaev 4-0 three finishes won the lightweight title this year

00:16Denis Golstov 4-0 three finishes one submission won the heavyweight title

00:21Johnny Eblen 2-0 but had great fights over Kasangai and of course Edwards

00:26onto the two biggest cards for the PFL this year and then Paul Hughes 3-0 in

00:31his career not all about in PFL right you had one fight outside the

00:35organization then the one fight inside Bellator then the PFL fight to elevate

00:39him now into this title fight I mean if there's anybody who's been on a more

00:42rocket trajectory this year in the PFL I don't think there you could find one

00:45more than Hughes of those four fighters who do you think should be the male

00:49fighter of the year for the PFL for me it's gonna be Musaev this is somebody

00:54that I would put in any organization the top 10 between 155 and 170 who I

00:59think presents a danger everywhere the fight goes people don't realize he's an

01:03excellent wrestler you can't take him down but his kickboxing is through the

01:07roof you saw him do this to him a lot off you saw him do it to his other

01:11opponent before that who's known as a big top-tier Dagestani wrestler so for

01:15me it's gonna be Musaev I understand what Hughes did in the one fight I think

01:19for him I would give him rookie of the year with PFL so if we had to go into

01:23that topic I might have jumped the gun there's a lot with Paul Hughes that that

01:27we really like right there's a lot of fun things that are coming up but if he

01:32goes out there and gets destroyed by Usman Emre Gametov that's where I'm

01:35gonna have a little bit of an issue here not saying that happens but it's a big

01:38task with your second fight calling it really in the big leagues Musaev

01:42though I think is a diamond in the rough that PFL really held on to and he

01:47performed and I think he's gonna move on I think he's a future champ I think

01:50you're gonna see some fun matchups with him coming up I'm excited for his

01:53future. He had an absolutely great year for sure great pick by you then female

01:58fight of the year you mentioned Ditchevo we have her in there 4-0 after

02:01winning that title going from PFL Europe champion 2023 to being PFL champion

02:062024 Talos Santos in there but you know obviously lost to Ditchevo so that's

02:10got to be a little bit of a mark there to kind of ruin that record for a

02:13cyborg only had one fight this year unfortunately for the PFL but it was a

02:17huge one winning that that title out against Pacheco and the super fights

02:21pay-per-view and then we threw in there as well Clarissa Shields only one fight

02:25in the PFL she also had a boxing match where she won a bunch of titles as well

02:29so it was a good year for her overall despite only two fights who do you think

02:32is I mean it seems to me pretty easy who is the the PFL women's fighter of the

02:37year but what is your take on that? Sure for Clarissa Shields look I give her a

02:43lot of credit for putting what she's done in boxing kind of on the line the

02:47jump to MMA however her fights really showed that she should not be in MMA I

02:54mean the ground game is really not there the takedown defense isn't there she won

03:00right that last fight but like I said I'll give her credit for jumping in I

03:06don't see much of a future there she doesn't have enough time to dedicate to

03:09both sports it's just it's just not the way but I give you all the credit in the

03:12world she got in there she made no excuses and she did it for Cyborg she

03:17beat Pacheco there's a reason why she is you know probably one of the two best

03:21women's fighter to ever do it I hope she fights someone of that same

03:25caliber on her legacy tour she calls it the thing my only issue with her is or

03:30whoever that runs that social media account you got you know me at this

03:33point man I'm as honest and transparent as it gets calling out people like Leah

03:37McCord is just not it for someone of her level of legacy so maybe her Pacheco do

03:42it again or they find someone else Tyler Santos I would give her comeback

03:45fighter of the year for the PFL she was out for a while she came back and she

03:49looked great up until she fought Dakota and then of course Dakota without a

03:53doubt female fighter of the year for the PFL
