00:00And then we also had a bantamweight championship.

00:05We talked about, you know,

00:06the check being a little small

00:07in the overall PFO titles,

00:08but still can be pretty big for anybody.

00:10And McGrillon, Lewis McGrillon,

00:12definitely made mention of that,

00:14said he'd feel like he just robbed a bank.

00:16I mean, sometimes in the fight game, as you know,

00:18you know, personality can help propel a fighter.

00:20You know, if you're excited to watch both on the mic,

00:23just as much as you are on the cage,

00:24it can, you know, get you even further along,

00:26quicker sometimes.

00:27I mean, this guy, I loved his personality.

00:29You know, the way he was after the fight,

00:31the post-fight interview,

00:32got a lot of energy, got a lot of personality,

00:34and that's always great to watch in a guy,

00:36especially when he's a champion that he is now

00:38in the bantamweight in Europe.

00:41Yeah, he's an absolute superstar in the making,

00:43and, you know, has certainly become must-see TV this year.

00:47You know, and you look back to the end of last year,

00:49the end of, you know, December,

00:51the last championship where he wasn't in the brackets.

00:54You know, he was fighting a showcase bout,

00:57and he came up short on that night.

00:59And to see his evolution since then, you know,

01:02he got a dominant win over Matiz Zaharoff

01:04in his first fight this year.

01:06And then, you know, the fight against Dean Garnett was,

01:10it may well be the best fight I've ever seen

01:13on European soil.

01:14You know, it was just an absolute wild fight.

01:17You know, one of the best ever.

01:19It really is.

01:20If you've not seen it, go and check it out.

01:22Lewis McGrill and Dean Garnett, you know,

01:24potentially a fight that we're gonna see next year again.

01:27If we can get these guys rematched.

01:31But I have to also give a shout out to his opponent.

01:33You know, Alexander Lustre has had a really good year

01:36as well, another fight that I want to see return next year

01:38and try and get that $100,000.

01:41You know, it's great money for fighters

01:43at this stage in their career.

01:44You know, a lot of these guys are around 10 fights in,

01:47and, you know, to be able to make $100,000,

01:49it just takes that pressure off for a couple of years

01:52where they know they can really focus on, you know,

01:55taking the right fights and building themselves.

01:57And I think that these guys have,

02:00I mean, they both deserve the money,

02:01but obviously McGrillin has, you know,

02:04put himself in a position now

02:05where everyone's talking about him

02:07and what he's able to do.

02:10And speaking of money, we had a number of contracts,

02:12three, I believe, handed out to the PFL in this card.

02:16Talk about some of the fighters who were able to get there,

02:18you know, their ink on the dotted line there,

02:20that maybe, you know, propel themselves further

02:22in their MMA career with the PFL.

02:25Yeah, this was really fun, you know,

02:26to have Cedric Dumbe involved.

02:28And, you know, we had three France v France matches.

02:31And the idea was that we gave two contracts out.

02:34We had a really good performance

02:35with Mahir Campanella winning by arm triangle.

02:39The third fight was Matthias Dürergren,

02:41and he was just a superstar all week.

02:44You know, he was standing on the scales doing a Rubik's cube

02:47and, you know, just spoke to the fans really well.

02:50He had a great walkout.

02:52So I think his performance, as well as the, you know,

02:56the rest of it gave, you know,

02:57really won Cedric Dumbe over.

02:59But then the other kid Salvo, I mean, you know,

03:02he was making his pro debut.

03:04There was a lot of pressure

03:05and he just had a completely dominant performance

03:07over a very tough opponent.

03:09And I just think Cedric looked at him and thought to himself

03:13that this guy's still got a lot of potential.

03:15Let's also give him a contract.

03:16And then, you know, we'll build these guys out

03:19on an undercard of maybe one of Cedric's events.

03:22But it was a fun little event to have within an event.

03:27And I think all the fighters that got the contracts

03:28were really pleased to have Cedric involved.

03:32I'm sure it's changing some of the champions' lives,

03:34the big checks, changing some of those other fighters

03:37up and coming with just being on the roster.

03:38I'm sure that, you know,

03:39a big great way to end the year for the PFL,

03:42a great thing to do, you know, around the holidays.

03:44You know, everyone's gonna have a happy holidays.

03:46They got that win.

03:52Because it wasn't just these title fights up top.

03:54There are plenty of other action at various weight classes.
