00:00A very, very highly anticipated press conference where you generally don't get much, but this

00:06time around, Bill Belichick, of course, with the University of North Carolina and not with

00:11the New England Patriots, what did you make of the scene yesterday?

00:15That it is, I've never been to an ACC media day where cameramen were lining up to watch

00:21a coach walk in to the podium session.

00:24And Bill Belichick, what we all have perceived, the hoodie, the Patriots, the short answers,

00:31completely different.

00:33He was friendly.

00:34He was congenial.

00:35He was taking great care to answer questions about his learning experience in the college

00:41game.

00:41And, you know, it's not coming with the fanfare and hype that Deion Sanders did, but I think

00:47sometimes we forget, like as Bill O'Brien said, Bill Belichick can connect with coaches.

00:52He can connect with players.

00:53He knows more about football than most people on this planet.

00:57So it definitely raises the stakes and makes that opener against TCU a lot more interesting

01:02in my opinion.

01:03Yeah, I definitely think that like going into this year is very similar to like going into

01:08Deion season where most people are watching those games to see how the coach prepares

01:13and wins or loses.

01:15But the deal, Bill, with this is that odds makers are telling us that North Carolina is going

01:19to still do a lot of losing this season.

01:21And just being honest, the odds show us that their win total is seven and a half going into

01:25the year.

01:27These can be off.

01:28I've seen it before, but that's not a high number.

01:31And if they win 10 games, Bill, for your $100 bet, you can pick up 600 bucks.

01:35So the odds are slowly intact against Belichick going into the year.

01:38And you would think that you would get a little bit of a boost with a guy like Belichick there.

01:43What gives?

01:44Is North Carolina just not good?

01:46I mean, the new roster, that is one thing.

01:48Can he win with these players?

01:50And can he, you know, be the guy that we think he is that I can beat you with yours and I

01:57can beat you with mine and the schemes that he comes up with?

02:01He said they're running it like a pro program.

02:03September is so critical.

02:05They play TCU early in the season, obviously, in an opener that's going to get the Labor Day

02:09night treatment.

02:10They play UCF in September.

02:14They only have one ranked team on their schedule, though, in Clemson.

02:17So after that, if you look at the back half of their schedule, it is manageable for them

02:21to start reeling off wins if the Belichick aura, so to speak, works and they can win these

02:28games.

02:29But, you know, it was wild to think that Clemson, with a two-time national champion and probably

02:34three first-round picks, was probably less of the center of attention than North Carolina

02:40yesterday.

02:40That is the impact that he's making right now.
