Kolkata: A shocking CCTV video from a running Kolkata Metro train has gone viral, showing a passenger defacing the door of a coach by spraying black paint, while fellow commuters looked on without intervening.
The incident occurred on the Blue Line when Metro rake no. MR-409 was in motion. The accused, seen pulling out a spray can from his bag, sprayed Door No. 5 of Coach 4036 and exited the train shortly after.
Metro Railway Kolkata issued a statement confirming the act and condemned the damage to public property, calling it a blow to the "aesthetic look of the coach" and the sentiments of metro users. Authorities have warned strict action and urged commuters to stay vigilant.
Despite clear CCTV footage, the offender remains unidentified. Police and Metro officials are actively investigating.
