02:12ready to do this so I'll give you the frosting from here on okay we came to Austin from California
02:17about four years ago Kyle and Al were living in Manhattan and they had their first daughter and
02:25quickly learned that it takes a village with a baby what are we watching today an unexpected Christmas
02:30I have an amazing relationship with my daughter Paige and my daughter-in-law Al who's really just
02:35my daughter at this point we're really close and do a lot of things together can I just say
02:41I'm so excited to go on this cruise with you I'll cry oh cheers cheers we're so excited we love you
02:50I grew up in a really broken family and I was an only child which was isolating and I remember
02:57starting to watch Hallmark movies in junior high what I love about Hallmark is it's just cozy and
03:04encompasses everyone and everything which makes the Hallmark community so special also thank you for
03:10having the house so beautifully done it looks amazing seriously this is some of your best work
03:14and then when I met the Vermeer family they obviously loved Hallmark too and it was just kind
03:19of a really cute marrying of like both of the things that we both loved what's new this year did you
03:24add anything that's Christmas tree row okay I added some new trees my mom has spent her whole life
03:29doing things for other people she's always been the driver of this family they literally the driver
03:36oh nice joke thanks you guys and did you finish packing I'm bringing a lot I know I have to yeah I'm gonna go

05:12down that's amazing my name is Donna and I am Rob we have been together for nine years we met at the gym
05:19out of all the Hallmark stars so who do you look forward to meeting I actually like Paul I can't
05:25wait to meet Nikki Nikki is one of our favorites she does a lot with Paul all the time when we first
05:30met we had both gone through a divorce so we talked as we walked on the treadmill and that's how it all
05:35started well first you broke my ribs and I actually broke two of her ribs adjusting her back on a bench
05:42popped it so I thought I would never see her again much less at the gym no I was still together nine
05:48years later not one kid has missed Christmas Eve ever I'm going to make sure that always happens
05:53between the two of us we have seven kids Rob has two and I have five it's the best blended family there
05:58is wow it looks amazing all these magnets are the ones that I made that we're going to put on the
06:03door I can't believe you made one of every Hallmark star I think we might be a little Christmas
06:09crazy but there's nothing wrong with that never never too much Christmas ever my mother was always
06:14into Christmas growing up and Hallmark brings my mother and I together they got me into it you
06:19know they were watching it when I met them and I just got sucked in and I loved it because it takes
06:25you to a happy place it takes you out of the reality of life which is sometimes hard what are you
06:31going to watch when it's Christmas and you're in this house you can't watch something with sad and
06:35you got something uplifting and sometimes I actually cry I don't he does cry I can't believe
06:40he's a man in that but he does he does a little yeah or something he does oh Jonathan's right
06:48there we're meeting everyone I am a gay man over 40 you I'm gonna I'm gonna put the thing on an on
06:54an arm up in the sky so we have a good chin there boom ready one two three oh we did it
07:03we're gonna have so much time we can't wait welcome aboard welcome aboard welcome aboard we
07:09thought maybe we'd maybe get one selfie and if we were lucky and we got one within five minutes of

08:09my wife's two favorite things in the world cruising and Christmas movies from Hallmark there is no way
08:22that we were not going to be here my name is Laura Duncombe I'm going on this cruise with my very best
08:38friend in the whole world my little sister Victoria happy Christmas when I was a kid all that I
08:47wanted for Christmas was a baby sister and once she was born my life was never the same I just want
08:53to tell everyone Merry Christmas I know I'm gonna start decorating like right away oh my gosh you're
08:56so right let's go decorate the door home sweet home I can't remember the last time just the two of us
09:04went anywhere yeah I live in Tulsa Oklahoma and my sister and best friend lives in New York which is
09:14very far away I just want to like stay in our room and just hug like for just like six to ten hours
09:20yeah I have 61 boxes of Christmas decorations my sister's like that's kind of like you could
09:32probably pack my entire house in 61 boxes so it's a lot you may or may not have stood in my driveway
09:38this weekend like an evil genius and good Christmas because it was it's it's everywhere and it feels so
09:46good we get to watch Hallmark all the time I should probably be next to the blow dryer

12:58celebration party is just so exciting to us it's like 3,000 souls just united in this common sense
13:08of wonder and it's just it's spectacular it's so magical oh my gosh look look all my Christmas
13:17crew no could not imagine look at that crazy Gail is my very very very dear friend we met in the
13:2610th grade and we hit it off immediately joking around on the track team supposed to be practicing
13:32you really ran and I just was on the track team because of the uniforms actually she got kicked off
13:36the track team you think the kids are gonna be super hungry because I made a lot of waffles
13:43looking great ladies y'all doing an awesome job there why thank you so much you know we don't mind
13:50treating the sand sales yeah these are my buddies family is extremely important Gil's husband and my
13:57husband the friends and so that made our relationship even greater our families are now connected I our
14:08grandchildren are now connected we are definitely more than just friends in fact sometimes we refer
14:15to each other as cis and what do you guys have planned all me and Gail heard was Hallmark that's
14:19all we heard and saw oh because you guys are like super fans yeah so we like we didn't care what they
14:24were doing when I get out of church on Sunday everyone knows not to bother me and I'm watching
14:30Hallmark celebrities are gonna be on there some of the actors from the actual movies are gonna be on
14:34there like my Tyler Tyler Hines will be there you know that hair is like the bomb his hair is always
14:40so perfect I like love and I like togetherness and just the simple things in life I think that's
14:47what really attracted me to Hallmark when I started watching it years ago was like no matter how you were
14:53feeling you could turn on Hallmark and you could always leave feeling like there's hope so that's
14:59who's ready who's ready who's ready for the day we are ecstatic about this cruise I'm busting at the
15:09seams y'all parasailing we're not doing that anything like that right Alicia was always what I was not
15:16the the daredevil the take risks where I was the rule follower don't push the line take that leap of
15:23faith I don't know about faith okay just take the leap I'm just kind of a little anxious because
15:30I know Alicia she is the adventurous one 46 years later here we are her still the risk taker me still
15:37the I want to color inside the lines as many of the cruises that we've been on I've never seen the
15:44sell-off party with this many people never it is beyond the perfect kickoff for the Hallmark cruise yes
15:51so many people I know that bothered you because you like it's like you could only shimmy you

20:12That was insane! I don't even know. I can't believe that we're here, like, together. You're healthy, right? I mean, like...

20:38It's been a long year for you.
20:39I've had two major surgeries.
20:42So now I am cancer-free, reconstruction later.
20:47I have two half-sisters. They both tested positive for a gene called the ATM gene mutation, and they both battled cancer and have both since passed away from cancer.
20:58I immediately went and got tested, and it turns out I also had the gene, and probably the best thing for me to do would be to do this preventative double mastectomy.
21:06And I'm back, and I'm ready to have fun.
21:10I'm just so excited to spend the next couple days with you guys.
21:13You don't get to do this a lot in life, and I'm so grateful. Like, seriously, thank you to you for making it happen.

21:26I know that my mom values the family being in Texas, but on this cruise I need to build up the courage to deliver some news to her that might be a little upsetting.

25:33It's a condition where part of the brain that controls your balance extends into your spinal
25:37canal.
25:38She had to go through brain surgery.

25:43And it was leaning on my brain stem and it could have been bad.
25:47There she is.

25:50The surgeon had a spot in October.
25:53She says, nope, not to left on my Christmas party.
25:55So she suffered with severe headaches for another two months.

26:03She believes her Christmas party is her.
26:05I wanted to go out in a bag.

26:13It was the best decision I made, I think.
