00:03There's been some sharp showers across the far south of England through today, but as
00:06we head into the overnight period, those will slowly start to ease away.
00:11We have this ridge of high pressure extending across most of the UK, and that will give
00:14a fairly dry night for much of us.
00:17And heading in towards Thursday, that ridge of high pressure is still in place, so plenty
00:21of places will be seeing some sunny spells and with those lighter winds.
00:25It won't be until the evening time on Thursday where we do start to see this frontal system
00:28arrive from the west, introducing some further rain and drizzly conditions into the far west
00:33of Northern Ireland.
00:35Back to this evening though, so there is a fair amount of cloud around and there will still
00:38be showers as we head through this evening, but we do start to see those slowly start to
00:43die away.
00:45Parts of northwest Scotland are still going to hold on to a fairly damp picture overnight,
00:49and parts of Lincolnshire and Yorkshire will start to see some rain arriving into the early
00:54hours of Thursday.
00:56Elsewhere, it's going to be a fairly mild night overnight, temperatures holding up into the
00:59mid-teens, perhaps a little bit cooler in some rural spots, but on the whole, a fairly
01:04mild night and not too warm for sleeping.
01:08Heading through the morning then, so this area of rain on the eastern coast will slowly and
01:12steadily sink southwards through Suffolk and Northwick through this morning and reaching
01:16parts of London by late morning and early afternoon.
01:20Elsewhere, we're going to see pretty fine conditions across most of the UK.
01:24There was a fair amount of cloud around, but there will be plenty of sunshine around as
01:27well.
01:28And with those light winds where you see that sunshine, it will be feeling quite pleasant.
01:31Parts of Devon and Cornwall, Wales and parts of Cumbria and even western Scotland will be
01:35seeing some decent sunshine through Thursday.
01:39And those temperatures in those sunny spells, so only just about breaking into 20s or early
01:4320s for the northern half of the country.
01:45But for the further south, southern Wales, Devon and Cornwall on the south coast, perhaps up
01:49to 25 degrees.
01:50And again, feeling quite pleasant there.
01:52Further east though, underneath that cloud and with that rain and that breeze on that
01:56east coast, it's going to be feeling much chillier in those eastern parts.
02:01Heading through the rest of the evening then on Thursdays, so that rain across the far southeast
02:06will tend to move away overnight.
02:08And most places start to see some clear spells developing ahead of this frontal band arriving
02:13into the early hours for Northern Ireland and for most of Scotland.
02:19With that rain and with that wind, it's certainly going to be stalling onto quite a mild night
02:22here.
02:23Temperatures around 15 or 16 degrees.
02:25A touch cooler across central parts could get into the sort of low teens.
02:29And in those rural spots, again, it will be feeling a touch cooler there as well.
02:34And so a day of two halves on Friday, so across the southeast plenty of sunshine around.
02:39But as this frontal system starts to approach, we do start to see further cloud and rain and
02:43drizzle arriving.
02:44It is fairly weak, so it will only be drizzly conditions, but it will be quite murky, particularly
02:48of high ground across the far western parts.
02:52Noticing with this temperature the difference here, so we've got our best high teens, early
02:5520s for the northwestern half of the country.
02:58But in that sunshine further southeast, parts of perhaps London could see up to 28 degrees.
03:03Again, feeling quite pleasant and summery in that sunshine.
