00:00Hi there.
00:01The intense thundery downpours that some places experienced through Thursday will ease overnight
00:07as higher pressure builds back in from the north.
00:09However, they'll still rumble on for the first few hours of the evening.
00:13By midnight, most of them disappearing and for the vast majority, it is a dry night with
00:18clear spells.
00:19The most extensive clear spells towards the south and the west, but some mist patches
00:25will form and there will be extensive low cloud affecting the north and east of Scotland
00:30into the northeast of England.
00:32That's obviously going to produce a few spots of rain as well where it hovers over hills,
00:37but otherwise it's a dry start to Friday.
00:40It's a warm night for many of us and there will be plenty of sunshine at first thing.
00:44The best of the sunshine across much of England and Wales, but some patches of cloud around
00:48and any mist will tend to fade away as the morning progresses.
00:52And then long blue skies for much of England, Wales, some patchy cloud for Northern Ireland,
00:57but decent sunny spells here.
00:59Likewise for southern and central Scotland.
01:01However, it's across eastern Scotland where we'll see some low cloud and that low cloud
01:05could just lap onto the shores of eastern England as well at times, particularly parts
01:09of Lincolnshire into Norfolk.
01:12That combined with an onshore breeze will make it feel much cooler on that immediate east coast.
01:17Also it's going to feel cooler across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Northern England compared
01:21with recent days.
01:23But the heat rebuilds further south with temperatures reaching widely the high 20s, perhaps up to
01:2830 or 31 Celsius in some spots.
01:32So another hot day for some, but not for all.
01:35And the low cloud that I mentioned in the east will tend to creep back westwards as the
01:39night progresses.
01:41With Saturday morning starting off fairly cloudy across parts of eastern Scotland, eastern and
01:46central England.
01:48A warm night to come wherever you are, but that cloud means that it will be a grey start
01:53to Saturday.
01:54And I suspect it will be slow to clear through the day.
01:57In fact, it could linger across some eastern parts throughout much of the day because this
02:01high pressure situated to the west and northwest of the UK means we've got an easterly breeze.
02:06Best of the sunshine, Western Scotland, Northern Ireland, West Wales and the southwest, that's
02:11where the highest temperatures will be.
02:13But where we've got that cloud only very slowly retreating back eastwards and even so still
02:17lingering in some parts of northern and eastern England, it's going to feel considerably
02:21cooler.
02:23Temperatures on Saturday, mid 20s at best across the Midlands into parts of northern England,
02:30for example, on the immediate coast.
02:32High teens, low 20s more likely, but still hot for south Wales and southwest England.
02:39That's where we're likely to see the high 20s once again.
02:42A similar picture into Sunday.
02:44One thing worth noting as well, strong breezes developing through the southwest and parts
02:49of Wales on Saturday and into Sunday.
02:52So plenty of things going on really with the weather over the next two days.
02:56We'll keep you updated on YouTube.
02:58Bye bye.
