00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:04The heat is intensifying yet again across the country with a heat wave on its way as
00:08we head into the weekend, temperatures climbing into the 30s.
00:12For the next 24 hours or so, weather fronts never too far away across the north as well
00:16as the west and that will bring more clouds and also some patchy rain and drizzle.
00:21High pressure building from the south so day on day temperatures will slowly rise, helped
00:26with some sunshine and by Friday most parts of the country, even the north and the west
00:31of Scotland, seeing that blue sky and sunshine as temperatures arrive around 26 to 31 degrees
00:37celsius, turning very warm if not hot.
00:39For the time being it's pleasant outside although damp across western Scotland up towards the
00:44north with some patchy rain and drizzle clipping the far north and north-west of Northern Ireland.
00:48Cloud rolling ahead of it and we could see some dampness in the air, particularly across
00:52Pennines through into the early hours of Wednesday morning.
00:56For the rest of the country it's a dry one, clear skies towards the south, temperatures holding
01:00up 11 to 13 degrees celsius.
01:03So tomorrow morning watch out for that low cloud and that rain and drizzle across western Scotland.
01:10Also for Northern Ireland through the morning and it could turn a bit more persistent this
01:13wet weather across western Scotland through the day.
01:16The cloud breaks across central and eastern Scotland through the morning into the afternoon.
01:19The cloud will break elsewhere across England and Wales, away from perhaps the far north-west
01:24where we could hang on to more clouds.
01:25But brighter skies extending across Northern Ireland as well as that rain and drizzle becomes
01:30confined to the far north and north-west of Scotland through the afternoon.
01:33It's going to feel warm in the sunshine.
01:35Temperatures 22 for Aberdeenshire, 23 for Northumberland, 23 for Belfast, for mid-Wales
01:4126 but 28 down towards the home counties.
01:44Now through Wednesday evening and overnight, yet again a pleasant evening to come with some
01:48late sunshine.
01:49That rain across the far north of Scotland, particularly for Shetland as well as the Outer
01:54Hebrides.
01:55But through the night again, that cloud could roll in from the west with some light rain
02:00and drizzle.
02:01Elsewhere clearer skies, perhaps one or two mist and fog patches with a lighter breeze.
02:05But Thursday dawns fine for most with some sunshine.
02:09On the up slopes of the highlands you could see some patchy rain and drizzle, a bit more breeze
02:12for the Outer Hebrides as well as Shetland again with some rain coming and going.
02:16Elsewhere some sunny skies.
02:18So blue sky and sunshine through the day.
02:20A fine day to be out and about but it is going to feel very warm if not hot.
02:24Look at these temperatures 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
02:27So very warm across more northern areas but turning hot further south and southeast with
02:33that strong sunshine.
02:34Here's your outlook through Friday.
02:36Saturday, yes lots of sunshine around, temperatures climbing into the high 20s if not the low 30s.
02:44So all in all as we head through into the weekend it's going to be very warm if not hot with
02:50some strong sunshine and a light wind.
02:53So temperatures arriving on Saturday probably around 28 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:59It could be even hotter on Sunday.
03:01See you later.
