00:01Previously on Project Runway,
00:03you will be making a prom dress for them.
00:06I was very scared.
00:07I don't want to hem this.
00:09What do you mean, don't want to hem it, darling?
00:11That would be unfinished.
00:12I'm not going to do it.
00:14This thing in the sleeve here.
00:15You want another sleeve there?
00:16I'm not a dressmaker.
00:18Very cute.
00:19I literally want to rip the dress off and give up.
00:23Congratulations, Victoria.
00:32You are the winner of this challenge.
00:34I just don't like the fact that you're blaming Maddie.
00:38She looks like she's 35 years old.
00:41I am distracted by the Hemming.
00:44Kevin, you're out.
00:46The winner of Project Runway will receive a spread in Elle magazine,
00:54an opportunity to sell their line on bluefly.com,
00:57an all-new 2008 Saturn Astra,
01:00and $100,000 to start their own line,
01:02furnished by Tresemme Professional Hair Care.
01:05This is Project Runway.
01:07Let's go.
01:08Hell yes, I'm the best.
01:09You're either in or you're out.
01:11I'm in, they're out.
01:13I will be caught dead in his clothes.
01:15Fashion's my life.
01:16Who will be the next big fashion designer?
01:18That's me.
01:19Bottom line, I'm the best.
01:21I will own the runway.
01:23For these 15 designers,
01:24Project Runway is a chance of a lifetime.
01:37So how do you feel about yesterday, Christian?
01:39About what?
01:40My client?
01:41That almost got me eliminated.
01:43I had such a hard time with the prom challenge.
01:46I shouldn't have really been in the bottom two, though.
01:49I know my dress wasn't that great, but God, others were not cute.
01:54Ask me about any challenge, I've probably been up there.
01:56Yeah.
01:58After last night's elimination, it's just a reminder that I got a lot of work to do.
02:03I'll miss Kevin, but I'm glad it's not me.
02:06Good morning.
02:07Good morning.
02:08All right, bitches, let's go.
02:09We've got to find out what our challenge is.
02:19Hello.
02:20Hello.
02:21Before I tell you about your next challenge, let's bring out your models.
02:25What's going on?
02:26What's going on?
02:27What's going on?
02:28What's going on?
02:29Oh my star.
02:30What?
02:32You've probably noticed something different about your models today.
02:37And that's because for your next challenge, you will be creating an avant-garde look inspired by your model's hairstyle.
02:44The challenge really just couldn't be better.
02:48This is the challenge that I'm the most excited about.
02:51This is an opportunity for you to push yourselves as designers and to create something artistic and conceptual.
02:59Models, because you weren't used in the last challenge, there are ten of you and eight designers.
03:07So two of you will be out.
03:10Victoria, you won the last challenge, so you get the first pick.
03:15I would love to stick with Jacqueline.
03:24Kit.
03:25Okay, good.
03:26Marie.
03:27Sweet Pea.
03:28This is tough because of the hairdos.
03:31I'm sorry, I want to pick Leigh.
03:33I'm sorry.
03:34I feel so bad, but I picked Leigh over Katie.
03:37Her hair was nothing.
03:38Leigh's was fierce.
03:40Jillian.
03:41I'm staying with Lauren.
03:43Chris.
03:44Marcia.
03:45Rami.
03:46I would love to work with Sam.
03:48Christian.
03:49Lisa.
03:50I picked Lisa, who was my first model.
03:52God, she is so high fashion.
03:56Katie.
03:58Aviva.
03:59Amanda.
04:01Two of you will be out.
04:03Ricky, you have a hard decision to make.
04:06I'm sorry, ladies.
04:07You're all beautiful.
04:09But I want to play with Amanda.
04:15Katie.
04:16Aviva.
04:17I'm sorry you're out.
04:18Auf Wiedersehen.
04:19Tim is waiting for you in the workroom to fill you in on some of the details.
04:31Good luck, and I see you on the runway.
04:34Bye.
04:35Bye.
04:36Designers, as Heidi said, for this challenge you'll be creating an avant-garde look inspired by your model's hairstyle.
04:49This look does not have to be practical.
04:51It doesn't even have to be very wearable.
04:53An avant-garde look is by definition ambitious.
04:56Because of that, you will be working in teams of two.
05:01Of course.
05:02I will draw your names from this bag to determine the teams.
05:08So team one is Kit.
05:12And...
05:14Ricky.
05:16Team two...
05:18Sweet Pea.
05:19With...
05:20Rami.
05:21Oh, that's fantastic.
05:24Team three...
05:25Chris.
05:26With...
05:27Christian.
05:28Woohoo!
05:29Yeah!
05:30I was like, all he does is costume and crazy s***.
05:33He's gonna come up with something fabulous.
05:36Who's left?
05:37Victoria.
05:38And Jillian.
05:40All right.
05:41You'll have 30 minutes to determine which model's hairstyle will inspire the look for this challenge.
05:48Your budget is $300, and you will have two days.
05:53Each team must choose a team leader.
05:57I'm gonna send in your models.
05:59Use your time, Will.
06:03It's gonna have to be one girl.
06:05I know.
06:06We gotta look at their hair.
06:07Since you worked at Alexander McQueen, do you wanna be the team leader?
06:10Yeah.
06:11I'm so scared.
06:12I'm gonna get eliminated.
06:14No.
06:15It's gonna happen to me.
06:16I really don't wanna be leader because I don't wanna be eliminated, but then I feel
06:19really strongly about this challenge.
06:22So...
06:23Let's just decide who should we use.
06:24I think hers is more glamorous.
06:26Use her then.
06:27Go ahead.
06:28We chose Marcia.
06:29She's very tall and gorgeous.
06:32What if we did the entire dress in circles of organza?
06:37Thousands.
06:38Thousands.
06:39We're gonna do this in the most diplomatic ways.
06:40I'm sorry.
06:41Your hair is more easy to work with.
06:42Sorry, girl.
06:43Have a seat.
06:44Maria's hair looks like a bird's nest, so we decided to use my model, Marie.
06:50Our whole concept is based off this idea of nesting.
06:54In my head, these are all totally different fabrics.
06:57That look good together.
06:58That could be cool too.
06:59I like that idea.
07:00It just worked out naturally that I would be the team leader because it's basically my
07:05concept.
07:06Fantastic.
07:07Rami and I decided we will pick Sam as our model.
07:10He is the leader because my mind doesn't really naturally go to the avant-garde.
07:15Wow.
07:16The chiffon is restricted in one area of the bodice and then just pretty much freely falls
07:20out into a gown of some sort, you know?
07:22The vision for this avant-garde piece is hard and soft.
07:25I'm using that concept to create curvy lines and then freely falling out just like her hair.
07:31So what were you thinking?
07:32So I thought about like kind of an apocalyptic, dramatic trench coat.
07:36Actually, when I saw Jacqueline, I know that she definitely has a very heavy like 80s punk
07:41reference.
07:42There was not going to be a chance in hell that either of us were going to say,
07:45okay, you be the leader.
07:46It was not going to happen.
07:47I think we should just flip a coin.
07:48Unless we flip this and if it lands face up, it's mine.
07:51Okay, that's good.
07:52Is it closed?
07:53If it lands face down, it's yours.
07:54Okay.
07:55It's yours.
07:56Okay.
07:57Are you cool with that?
07:58I am.
07:59I'm a little uncomfortable about some of the things.
08:01I think we need to just really solidify a story here.
08:03Right.
08:04Okay.
08:05Designers, time's up.
08:07We're going shopping.
08:12We have $300 for this challenge.
08:14Ooh, look at this one.
08:15That, that, that, that.
08:16We are getting different fabrics that work with the colors that we talked about.
08:19Oh my God, this is beautiful.
08:21Mommy?
08:22Sweet Pea.
08:23Mommy?
08:24Is there enough?
08:25Yeah, there's two, these two rolls.
08:26That's not 40 yards.
08:28Oh .
08:29We need so much fabric.
08:31We need probably 50 yards of organza.
08:35Oh, this is better.
08:36This is way better.
08:37This is perfect.
08:38It works.
08:39Thank you, Moon.
08:40Thank you, Moon.
08:41Thank you, Moon.
08:42Thank you, Moon.
08:43Oh, wow.
08:44We have a lot.
08:45I don't want it to look like Little House on the Prairie.
08:46Our avant-garde look started with the idea of the hair being a bird's nest.
09:01So we did a theme of a girl who'd be in a garden and many aprons to represent layering.
09:07This is some serious drama.
09:09Like, it's the girl in me and it's the bitch in you.
09:12It's the bottom.
09:15Faroche.
09:16If I was a diva, my name would be Faroche.
09:19Marcia has this huge, kind of romantic, braided bun.
09:23So the gown is literally hundreds of layers of tiered, circular ruffles.
09:29And we'll have this giant neck piece and, oh my God, it's amazing.
09:32I'm trying to build us a cell phone tower so we can call out.
09:35How about if it takes us to Elisa's planet?
09:38Didn't you know Elisa left me these instructions?
09:41Unless you feel otherwise, I'd like to style the collar up and just kind of tipping over here.
09:45Awesome.
09:46The model's hair gives the effect of a mohawk, so it allowed us to come up with this theme of, like, rebellion.
09:54And I'm kind of replicating that hairstyle down the back of the trench coat that I'm making.
09:59Victoria's working on the shirt and the pants.
10:02Two days is never enough time for anything for me.
10:04And Victoria and I are both people who struggle with time management.
10:10So I'm pretty worried about it.
10:13So why don't you put it on the dress form and try to put a French seam in the center front, okay?
10:20I chose to take over the corset and sort of the gown part of the outfit because it's very intricate and detailed.
10:29So I asked Sweet Pete if she's able to do a pair of trousers and she reassured me that she can do it.
10:35Do you want to make the apron and the thing?
10:44Oh yeah, you want me to do that instead?
10:45Yeah.
10:46Let me just bone her.
10:47Bone her and then make the apron.
10:49Pin it extremely straight all the way down.
10:50Do you feel comfortable with that?
10:51Are you sure?
10:52I think what is slowing me down is actually having to constantly answer and attend to Sweet Pete because she's struggling with a pair of pants.
11:10I just feel like the pants should be almost finished.
11:13That's my only concern because there's so much work in here.
11:17Look dude, we wanted to accomplish getting the pant and the corset sewn and we've finished those and we've also draped most of the gown.
11:26So I'm not really comprehending why he's so stressed out when we are actually ahead of the game.
11:32These are almost done, Rami.
11:33Okay, cool.
11:34I just told you.
11:35All right.
11:36I'm just thinking ahead.
11:37Any dysfunction that happens in the team, I feel like I'm going to be blamed for it.
11:42My ass is on the line basically here.
11:46Coming up on Project Runway.
11:47I have a special announcement to make.
11:50Oh my God.
11:51My reaction is horror, nausea.
12:04All right, man.
12:06Do I have enough cigarettes for the day?
12:08I'm kind of worried to go into Parsons today because Rami just seemed upset last night so I am hoping things are a little different this morning.
12:19Let's take a look.
12:20Let's get it.
12:21Go.
12:25Sweet Pea's a little dyslexic.
12:26I never know what door to open.
12:28You're going to go do the ruffles.
12:30The crinoline.
12:31Okay.
12:32And I'm going to just keep doing this.
12:33And you're working on her big friends.
12:34Yeah.
12:35We're there, girl.
12:36Work.
12:37The challenge is to do something avant-garde inspired by a model's hair and it can be anything.
12:42So I'm excited.
12:44What do you think should be done?
12:46Something out the back.
12:48Maybe I do think bustle.
12:49Some drama.
12:50What is the goal?
12:51Because it could look like it and be over the top.
12:53Of course.
12:54And I mentioned bustling a few times.
12:56And if we build the back of the dress out, I thought it would look really cool.
12:59But he's not really listening.
13:01Let me take over this.
13:03Okay?
13:04Mm-hmm.
13:05Designers, may I ask you to gather around, please?
13:10I have a special announcement to make.
13:14Uh-oh.
13:15Get scared of special announcements.
13:17Yeah.
13:18There will be another look walking down the runway tomorrow.
13:24What's happening?
13:25Another look.
13:26I wanted to throw up.
13:27Oh, my God.
13:28I was so pissed.
13:29Each of your teams must create a ready-to-wear garment that embodies the essence of your avant-garde
13:31look.
13:32Let me assert that every major fashion designer must do this, provoke and inspire with high-end
13:36conceptual work, and translate it to saleable ready-to-wear.
13:41And this has to be done by tomorrow?
13:54By tomorrow.
13:55Oh, my God.
13:56You will have an additional budget of $50 for this look.
13:58And we're going to give you until 1 a.m.
14:01I'm going to give you 15 minutes to talk among yourselves.
14:05And then we'll be going to Mood, where you'll have 15 minutes to shop.
14:10and only one team member must go i'm gonna give you 15 minutes to caucus and i'll be back thank
14:15you so i already had an idea last dress skirt huh dress dress dress simple dress and then we do a
14:22band right away kit looks at me she's like we should do something like a little dress and i
14:27said you know what i'll figure it out i'll drape it it's cake for me i i do it day in and day out
14:32i want to pick out the fabric we'll just do the simple little chic little outfit i'm not scared
14:38at all just focus on one whoever gets finished starts a shirt dress maybe yeah i'm already off
14:47schedule so my reaction is horror nausea i think navy why is it maybe because it kind of ties in with
14:56the pant and but the i feel like it makes it day i feel like it makes it day though navy's not so much
15:03day i think right away i have an idea and he's immediately like i don't like that color
15:08and i'm like okay sketch for me what you have in mind i go from the form the most i can't be in the
15:14dark i feel like you don't trust that i'm gonna because you don't seem to sure about it you're not
15:18telling me i'm not i'm totally sure your sketch so i'm confused sweet b was not clear to what she
15:24wanted to design but since we are a team i really need to know what it's going to be i'm not asking
15:31for a long time okay all right designers your 15 minutes is up i'm leading the group to mood who's
15:39coming with me okay thank you jillian pray for us
15:44love you back oh wait i need that print i chose to go to mood just because i'm fast and i kind of
15:55knew exactly what i needed like this is my main choices here like a gray oh that's gorgeous i just
16:01started running around and i found some beautiful silver shantung and i think i'll get something
16:06really cute out of this um yeah yeah let's cut that just give me a yard and a half i think i can make
16:12a big deal i pulled everything together that i needed let's get this fabric and get out of here
16:17so we can make something with it time's up let's sit back to the work room now okay
16:26okay i had a gajillion went good let me show you what i bought i got this cool so i will start
16:33draping but i'll just show you just show me before i do it on to the next one from fantasy to reality
16:40designers i'm bringing in the models so you can have a fitting yeah they'll be here for about 30
16:46minutes all right thank you use your time well make it work hi come on in have fun hi ladies
16:56i love this here i think but i'm not sure if i love it here i think it makes it more interesting
17:01no thank you i think rami did end up putting way too much stuff on the dress and he disagreed with me
17:09but i definitely don't think adding so much stuff to it is what would be considered avant-garde step in
17:16this is going to be so heavy this looks crazy i'm so excited once marie put our avant-garde look on
17:24it really transformed the whole piece you have to step back and say wow this is really cool dude
17:29it looks super good as usual i only have a pant on you so at least it's something so jillian has
17:36nothing that yeah not yet because her dress is pretty much really done okay great i'm glad you're
17:42done everybody's done except for me and victoria great we are still in development phase and
17:49we weren't completely prepared to have a full fitting my concern is that victoria is immune
17:56for this challenge and ultimately if we're on the bottom it's immediately me who has to go
18:03oh my god oh yeah i told you she's magical wait just dislocate my shoulders and climb
18:09is this hurt make it a little looser okay don't kill her what i hope happens tomorrow at the runway show
18:16is that our model marcia comes out and people's jaws drop to the floor and they never forget it as
18:24long as they live oh burn it up yes you gotta bring it back girls you gotta bring it back from the side
18:35and turn that's good that's really cute thank you yeah rami's letting me do the ready-to-wear look
18:48and it's super cute and it's it's totally me i need you to finish the dress and run the pants
18:54i'm gonna finish these okay i need to know when we're gonna finish that's all i'm entitled so i walk
18:59into the work room and sweet pea has been on the cutting table for quite some time i'm leading
19:06the team i need to make sure that everything's going on schedule my ass is on the line okay
19:11it's always my routine no mine is more than yours please understand that that's all i need you to do
19:16please okay i'm just saying i'm totally gonna finish these that's it it's so simple what i'm doing
19:20okay let's just have a time plan that's all i'm asking for oh god sweet pea gets defensive so i'm
19:31feeling like i need to be extremely careful and it's draining a lot of my energy it makes it hard for
19:37me to work we have to i'm almost done sorry no it's okay i know this is hard i just was like so mad
19:50this is rough you know like i told him to just calm down i wish rami would just like please get off
19:57my back thank you coming up on project runway i'm worried the problem here is that we think differently
20:08i'm just hoping we don't end up in some kind of fist fight
20:20designers and models may i ask you to gather round please designers and models
20:28i have a special guest i want to introduce
20:41please welcome nathaniel hawkins nathaniel is lead stylist for the tresemme haircare creative team
20:47welcome to parsons the new school for design thank you for having me nathaniel's here to consult with
20:52you on the hairstyle for your ready-to-wear look what we're going to do today is to translate the
20:58avant-garde hairstyle into a look for the everyday woman we want to create something that is beautiful
21:04effortless yeah practical and nathaniel has a special announcement to make the winning team's looks
21:11and models will be featured in a tresemme ad in owl magazine wow thanks nathaniel thank you
21:20to be in l magazine for tresemme that's exciting and it makes us want to work harder hello hello
21:26unheard i would do a little bit of fullness and create a smaller more elegant shape sounds perfect
21:34we still can create the smoother crown building into very loose yeah i love it perfect so jacqueline
21:42has that crazy faux hawk yes i thought that we could do hair pressed perfectly smooth with the long
21:49luxurious hair strong side part and we'll get a nice soft shape it will be so pretty in her
21:59thanks nathaniel bye sweet pea have a good night hi everybody how's team fierce
22:12well what do you fear well i have to tell you guys this is staggering but this translation to ready to
22:19wear worries me this looks kind of cheap oh my god i think it looks so expensive i'm dubious okay i think
22:28it'll be very chic and i'll totally fight that if i have to kit ricky yes we're very excited all right
22:37all these ribbons are gonna just become a big giant nest it's a costume and the answer is yeah but it's
22:47conceptual is there anything else you can do to dramatize this does it need more of this to punch it
22:54out no i don't know about that just have it be exuberant thank you okay just do it santa maria let's
23:03go so rami yes sweet pea how are you doing good this is the corset gown that's worn as a blouse
23:12is this going to surprise them or is this going to be what they expect you don't think it's over the
23:17top enough is what you're saying we're asking you to go many steps higher and have you gone high
23:24enough they have not seen me do corset the only thing i'm going to say yeah i'm worried okay the
23:31problem here is that we think differently and we're working as a team and it's it's a conflict
23:38i think that's more on our work process well how has the experience been so far i want you to talk a
23:42little bit how is that the way you work together we just both work really differently we do so it's
23:47been it's been difficult tim is saying this dress looks too much like you romey it's like
23:54what does that have to do with how we work as a team other than he won't let me in all right carry
23:59on okay thanks victoria jillian how are you doing we're doing okay it's dress for time we're just moving
24:07as fast as we can possibly move i want to assert that this coat is fabulous if you can achieve this
24:15this is incredible yeah the second outfit we haven't even started it it's a matter of finishing this
24:22and it's a matter of that second look okay carry on thank you thanks i'll be in the sewing room okay i
24:33think i will join you jillian oh great so right now we're not talking and it's a little tense i'm
24:44totally expecting to be in the bottom tomorrow that's one reason i really wanted to pull my dress
24:49together so that i can stand strong with something really great on the runway myself
24:53what all right you mother come on let's sail by the end of the evening i still had some finishings
25:11to do on my two garments julian as well had not completely finished her coat i have no idea if
25:19we're going to be able to to even start the second look let's go so tired oh i can't even walk
25:38everybody ready i'm kind of wondering how rami's going to be today i'm just hoping we don't end up
25:45in some kind of fist fight okay let's go i'm ready i'm waiting i just want to make sure that it looks
26:02like an expensive enough dress the first thing that i do is start on that second dress in order to finish
26:10i'm going to move like the speed of light today good morning designers hi tim i'm going to be sending
26:17in your ready-to-wear models momentarily your avant-garde models are already in hair you'll have
26:23a two-hour period of time to send your models to the l'oreal paris makeup room in the tresemme hair salon
26:30all right hi darling let me try this on you see with the no sleeves it's done very chic i think it's cute
26:38it's a dress it's super casual the ready-to-wear dress looks really simple i would have liked to have
26:44done it in a different fabric but because we were telling kit's story that's the story
26:49it's perfect it's fine it's what it is
27:02so this is going to be your front section
27:08just put your hands up this is couture hilarity make sure everything's always tucked in in all
27:17honesty i know we're gonna win just has to happen i smell transomane right here it's supposed to be
27:25about just it's the least of my problems right okay in the end i put the second dress on my model but it
27:32is like a last minute afterthought it's beautiful can you cut me piece of grandmother i can do it here
27:38i really like our final garment because i think it stands apart from the other designers i am a
27:44little bit nervous however because it's just really different from where everyone else went are you
27:49sure about these boots well yeah designers and models this is it we're going down to the runway
27:55okay so follow me let's go i'm just worried that you that you jillian victoria we've got to go we
28:04definitely lived up to team last minute i was proud that we did a great job on the avant-garde look
28:11i think it would be amazing if we won i just at this point i'm not convinced that that will happen
28:18thank you coming up on project runway i wonder if there's something else that you can do it just does
28:25not look well made welcome to the runway as you know in fashion one day you're in and the next day
28:42you're out for this challenge we had you work in teams of two to create two looks an avant-garde look
28:49inspired by your model's hairstyle and a second ready-to-wear look that captured the essence of
28:56the avant-garde outfit the winning outfits will be featured in a tresemme ad in el magazine let's meet
29:04the judges first we have top american designer michael chorus hey guys next we have nina garcia fashion
29:12director of el magazine hi everyone and acclaimed italian designer alberta ferretti hello hi yeah we
29:21will score your designs as they come down the runway one of you will be named the winner and tonight
29:27only one of you will be out
29:32let's start the show
29:33i'm very happy as i'm watching sam walk down the runway i feel like i created something that is
29:46original and beautiful
29:52i definitely really loved my dress i loved ramy's too you know i just think maybe it wasn't big or grand
30:00enough
30:10i always watched the judges faces and nina garcia could not keep the look off of her face i think
30:17that she was impressed by it my avant-garde look was amazing the couture pose is all about the cinched
30:25waist and hunched shoulders it was such a shock factor from the beginning to the end
30:33and the ready-to-wear look was so chic and looked beautiful so i was 10 000 happy
30:39i'm definitely happy with the avant-garde look but i see the very serious fashion of all the other
30:51designers and ricky and i didn't go that direction so that makes me very nervous
30:56to have a second look you really get the extremes you get the really high and the really low of the
31:06whole story we were excited because she looked amazing
31:19we loved the silhouette we were both happy jacqueline really executed that look to perfection
31:26and i don't think that any other model could have done it like she did
31:37i was proud that we did finish the ready-to-wear look but i wasn't satisfied with it at all
31:43we've scored your designs will the following teams please step forward ramy and sweet pea
32:00kit and ricky your teams have the lowest scores
32:08but first we're going to talk to the teams with the highest scores
32:11you can leave the runway
32:19okay let's bring out your models
32:32christian what was your thought process with your look when i first saw marcia's hair
32:39we took it as like a very romantic um old world feeling whose design was it he came up with the
32:47color idea and we decided on the model we just kind of went i can do this you can do that and this
32:53is 45 yards of fabric just let you know can we see the back is that amazing because it is a very
33:02complicated race is a couture dress but the job is amazing congratulations thank you seven it looks
33:11beautifully crafted it's certainly important and exciting looking i think it's very soigné and i
33:19think that the ready to wear the blouse is great looking but i think the skirt's a little bit of a
33:24throwaway let's be honest yeah it's not perfect i know but obviously as a team you guys worked
33:30well together it could be a cover try this this look it's it's really really beautiful
33:36okay victoria tell us about your avant-garde look the immediate reference we had was something very
33:42punk with an equestrian le motif the silhouette is very beautiful cutting very well yes can we see
33:48the blouse in the in the pants i like the dish i do too why'd you hide them yeah why because the
33:55coat is so beautiful can i see the back of the choppers it's adorable the there the back of the blouse
34:02is great and i don't mind the tartan little black dress i mean i think it's cute we have three looks
34:10you have three looks so we should win
34:14okay we've heard what you had to say you can leave the runway thank you
34:18all right let's bring out the teams with the lowest scores
34:35rami please tell us about your avant-garde look when i first looked at sam instantly i thought of a
34:42corset and i imagined something that is flowy and we paired it with a pair of pants to kind of
34:48create sort of two odds and have them meet together who did what exactly here i made
34:55the gown with the corset sweet pea made the pants and the dress the dress is beautiful it's a cute
35:02dress the commercial dress in this instance to me is more forward looking than the avant-garde piece
35:08rami i know that you do draping impeccably i wonder if there's something else that you can do
35:15the dress the volume is not so dramatic and it's too normal maybe the shape of the trouser could have
35:22been more masculine can we see what they look like now that she looks like her ass is in her front
35:29but the gown could have had something that when she walked out it just went
35:32whoosh i wanted to add something back here like an explosion out of her rear you know i know it
35:38sounds kooky but you know i think that he was really taking ownership of his design and didn't really
35:44want me putting too much into it we were two odds working together and that's what sort of took away
35:49from the um loudness we work different ways yes but you do know that the best design teams
35:56are not people who are exactly the same or else you're just sitting and telling you're fabulous
36:02you know you're fabulous i mean you want someone else's opinion you get nothing you get nothing and
36:07you just you you were arm wrestling the whole time
36:13kit hello how did you divide up the work between the two of you i made the skirt and ricky made the
36:20corset and the ready-to-wear dress it's so strange that dress because it's not avant-garde it's cheap
36:26it's real cheap it's a little scarlet o'hara but in a cheap way i have to say what alberta said about
36:36you know scarlett o'hara ripped the drapes down but she made a couture dress out of her drapes this she
36:41ripped the sheets off the bed and ran out the door i think also it just does not look well made you know
36:47if you look at the satin it is all like wrinkly it it i feel like it needs to be steamed or something
36:55if i were pulling for a couture avant-garde photo shoot this would not be it and i think the ready
37:02to wear outfit is equally disappointing okay we've heard what you had to say we're going to have a
37:10little chat and then i'm going to call you back you can leave the runway
37:17so who did we like christian and chris had a i think a remarkable avant-garde piece today is
37:30amazing job that is important and as a team they work together brilliantly normally you know two
37:36designers you stick two things together it looks like two things stuck together but in this case it
37:40didn't she looked like a photo shoot right there with victoria and julian i love the dress i love the
37:51pants and the shirt and i love the coat it just looked terrific very very good job in all directions
37:58you could see a lot of women really wanting to wear those clothes
38:02what do we think about rami and sweet pea's team he knows he can drape very well and that's what he
38:12consistently gives us but show us something else for a change his excuse was sweet pea he was throwing
38:18her under the bus she executed the daytime dress very nicely yeah it was a great great little daytime dress
38:25and then kate and ricky i don't know if they even wrapped their head around the word avant-garde it's
38:35so strange because the realization is terrible she picked out these fabrics which i think looked very
38:41poor if they would have executed it in a beautiful way with beautiful materials it could have worked the
38:46one thing i will say though is the construction of that hoop from scratch that was good but it didn't
38:53help the look of the clothes and then the ready-to-wear dress truly looked like the poorest amateur everything
39:02looked amateur so we've made our decision yeah okay let's bring them back out
39:11one of you will be named the winner
39:27and one of you will be out
39:29let's start with the winner it was between christian's team and victoria's team congratulations
39:53christian you were the winner of this challenge
39:57your looks will be featured in a tresemme ad in el magazine christian because you were the team leader
40:05you will also have immunity and can't be eliminated in the next challenge you both can leave the runway
40:16i want to win them all but the challenge really meant something i'm really excited and it's great to be
40:21be an elk being young i don't have that much press yet victoria jillian good work you're both in you can leave the runway
40:38ricky you're in you can leave the runway
40:43sweet pea you're in you can leave the runway
40:54you can leave the runway
41:02rami kit one of you will be out
41:06rami your avant-garde look wasn't dramatic unfortunately the only drama that we saw was
41:16between you and sweet pea and as a team leader that is your fault
41:21kit we wanted you to give us something fashion forward but instead you took us backwards but not in
41:27a good way
41:34kit you're out that means rami you're in you can leave the runway
41:40you guys have made me cry and start crying i honestly don't believe in regret and i have no regrets
42:08i went out and i went out big well i need to send you upstairs to clean up your space okay
42:16bye kit oh my god i'm really really sad that i'm leaving but i have two full suitcases of
42:24friendship and success it's unfortunate for me but it's also unfortunate for the competition that i'm out
42:37okay here we go can you take a step forward the trust me night is pretty amazing give it an attitude
42:44that's me team fierce oh my god are you joking it was total destiny
42:51next on project one might behind this door you'll find the raw materials for your challenge
42:58i don't even want to know what's on the other side
43:01if you don't understand the situation by now you're refusing to learn are you all right
43:08i'm really starting to feel the weight of all of this pressure i don't know anyone who would really
43:14want to look like that it looks a little home song you were not inspired by this at all this is like a
43:19roller coaster you don't you don't know where to go visit bravo tv.com to learn more about the fashions
43:25you've seen on today's show
