00:01Previously on Project Runway.
00:03You'll be using items from her shades
00:05for an outfit of your choice.
00:07Now!
00:08I'm kind of freaking out right now
00:10because I'm not happy with my dress.
00:12So I'm like,
00:13what am I going to do now?
00:15I'm changing my mind.
00:16You're killing me.
00:17I came up with very Maria von Franz's interpretation
00:20of Gretel from Hansel and Gretel.
00:23It worries me.
00:30Congratulations.
00:32Rami, you're the winner of this challenge.
00:34It feels amazing to be the winner.
00:36It looks like it was very easy.
00:39You know, it's not wearable, but it's not fabulous.
00:42It didn't work for me in that way.
00:44Elisa, that means you're out.
00:51The winner of Project Runway will receive a spread in Elle magazine,
00:54an opportunity to sell their line on bluefly.com,
00:57an all-new 2008 Saturn Astra,
01:00and $100,000 to start their own line,
01:02furnished by Tresemme Professional Hair Care.
01:05This is Project Runway.
01:07Let's go.
01:08Hell yes, I'm the best.
01:09You're either in or you're out.
01:11I'm in, they're out.
01:13I would be caught dead in his clothes.
01:15Fashion is my life.
01:16Who will be the next big fashion designer?
01:18That's me.
01:19Bottom line, I'm the best.
01:21I will own the runway.
01:23For these 15 designers, Project Runway is a chance
01:26of a lifetime.
01:27I won for the second time.
01:41I am confident that I do have something that sets me apart from the rest.
01:47Crazily enough, I miss Elisa.
01:52I felt very connected to her.
01:54But since Elisa has been eliminated,
01:57I will be in 33H with Kit, Jillian, and Sweet Pea.
02:01Hello, new roommate.
02:02Are you ready?
02:03We're leaving.
02:04Let's go to Parsons.
02:05Hello.
02:06Hi.
02:07Hi.
02:08Are you ready for your next challenge?
02:09Sure.
02:10Your next challenge is all about creating memories.
02:26You will be making an outfit for one of the most important days of a woman's life.
02:31I'm just hoping that it's not a wedding dress.
02:36Okay.
02:37Let's bring out your models.
02:41I look over at the scrim.
02:42I thought they were like midgets or Oobaloos.
02:56All these little kids come out.
02:58I'm like, great.
02:59What are we making now?
03:01Oh, my God.
03:02They're school kids.
03:03And they're all pretty short.
03:07Designers, as you can see, you have new models for this challenge.
03:12These young ladies are from St. John Vianney High School in New Jersey.
03:18And you will be making a prom dress for them.
03:24Whoa.
03:27The other designers actually seem to be kind of excited.
03:30But I think prom is horrible and tacky and gross.
03:34These ladies had a chance to have a little look at your portfolios.
03:41And they have made some decisions on who they would like to work with.
03:45Okay.
03:46That's awesome.
03:47That's a dream come true.
03:48Oh, God.
03:52I don't know what the poor girl who chose me must have been thinking
03:56because my portfolio is full of crazy stuff.
04:01Katie, who do you want to work with?
04:04Jillian.
04:06Brianne.
04:07Okay.
04:08Cool.
04:09Tiziana.
04:10Kevin.
04:12Maddie, how about you?
04:13Christian.
04:14Katie.
04:15I choose Ricky.
04:18Nicole, how about you?
04:20Jessica.
04:22I choose Victoria.
04:24Christa.
04:25Chris.
04:26Don't be too scared.
04:28And finally, Bianca.
04:30I choose Rami.
04:31Okay, you have your new clients.
04:34Tim will meet you in the workroom to fill you in on some of the details.
04:38Have fun, and I'll see you on the runway.
04:41Let's go, ladies.
04:43Hi, everybody.
04:56Hi.
04:57Hello.
04:58Designers, I am about to send in your new clients.
05:01I just want to say that it is inevitable that many will have strong ideas about the design
05:06of this dress.
05:08You need to keep that in mind, but you also need to assert who you are and your point
05:12of view as a designer.
05:13You will have 30 minutes to meet with them.
05:16Then we're going to Mood, where you will have a budget of $250.
05:20You have until midnight tonight, and you have all day tomorrow.
05:24Okay?
05:25All right, I'm going to send in your clients.
05:29I'm Nicole.
05:30Hi, Nicole.
05:31I'm Zoe.
05:32I'm Jess.
05:33Hi.
05:34Hi, Joe.
05:35How are you?
05:36I'm good.
05:37Have you ever had something specially made for you before?
05:38No.
05:39It's my first time.
05:40And I'm so excited.
05:41What do you want to feel like?
05:42Oh, it's not like an elegant, but like something like flesh, like I can pop.
05:46We all knew that eventually there would be an evening wear challenge.
05:50I don't think we thought it would be on 16 and 17-year-old girls.
05:55You have to regear your thinking.
05:58Low cut in front or low and back?
05:59Both.
06:00Okay.
06:03So why'd you pick me?
06:04You were very edgy.
06:05We got a chance looking at your portfolio, and you were very my style.
06:09You have to consider that they are younger, and I definitely think the dresses should be more modest.
06:15I like this whole thing right there.
06:17You know, it's tight right there.
06:18That'll make your figure look really good.
06:21I come from New Jersey, so I know that old Jersey high school thing.
06:24And the problem in New Jersey is basically everyone goes tanning.
06:28Everyone basically steals booze from their parents.
06:31So it just freaks me out to see these kids are so young, and they're like about to engage in the prom,
06:36and hope that the parents are watching this, but I'm sorry.
06:38I will put a chassis belt inside of my garment.
06:41We have a good start here.
06:42I just want to get your body type down.
06:43Would you prefer something that is more fitted or drapey?
06:46I could go either.
06:47Most times something fitted.
06:49Bianca does not like things that are too traditional, which is perfect.
06:52A fun color, I think, is very important.
06:55Yeah, definitely.
06:56Okay.
06:57Sounds awesome.
06:58Good.
06:59I want to kind of get an understanding of why you thought we could work together.
07:03Well, actually, I've got the last choice.
07:06Okay.
07:07But that's fine, because I really like the portfolio.
07:09Okay.
07:10So it's fine.
07:11Okay.
07:12Because my butt kind of like sticks out really far, but it does, so like the low back kind
07:15of like makes it look nice.
07:16Yeah, sure.
07:17Yeah.
07:18Nicole wants a very plunging neckline, and she wants a very low back, like below the waist.
07:24Because I'm thinking like off-white maybe.
07:26So really super glamorous.
07:27Yeah, like walking the red carpet.
07:29I'm so into that.
07:30She also wants ivory, and I'm kind of scared of that because this is not her wedding day.
07:37Hopefully, she's not even going to lose her virginity.
07:39I've been doing action design for two years.
07:42Oh, really?
07:43Awesome.
07:44I met my fabulous client, Maddie.
07:47First thing she told me was that she's a designer.
07:50What if we did this would all be lathes?
07:53Hmm.
07:54I know this is going to sound difficult, but like a little train coming out here.
07:59These are good pleats.
08:00You know, she's so cute, but she has some strong opinions.
08:03She got that pencil right out and started sketching on my paper, and I was like, oh, okay.
08:08Okay, so what colors do you like?
08:10So light brown and maybe gold.
08:13For some reason, I want lace in the back.
08:15Okay.
08:16You don't want to put too much stuff.
08:18I know you do.
08:19You're killing me.
08:20And she wanted so much tacky stuff.
08:22She wanted gold and black and white and lace and ugh.
08:26Now once I start, no more changing.
08:28You think I'm going to change that?
08:31I was very scared.
08:34Designers, we need to say goodbye to our clients.
08:40Very excited.
08:41I'll see you.
08:42Awesome.
08:43She's coming.
08:44Bye, Kate.
08:45Bye.
08:46Thank you, ladies.
08:47I want to cry.
08:48Bitter.
08:49Bitter.
08:50Bitter.
08:51All right, designers.
08:52Let's head off to mood.
08:54Go get it.
08:55Yeah.
08:56We have $250 to shop.
08:58I find this really amazing red silk, and that's my base fabric.
09:00Put this aside as well.
09:01Yep.
09:02The red is so gorgeous that it's going to glow on the runways.
09:04You know, she wanted, like, ivory or bone, but I think that's too wedding-ish.
09:05She only mentioned black and white, and I'm not doing black, white, or ivory.
09:09All right.
09:10And I find this beautiful champagne-y charmes and sorry, Nicole.
09:14Look, I'm making a Christmas dress for her, don't you think?
09:15I'm going to make a poinsettia.
09:16Thank you, Lulu.
09:17Hi, Sarah.
09:18Hi, girl.
09:19Rita.
09:20Hi.
09:21Hi.
09:22Hi.

09:53Hi.
09:54Hi.
09:55Hi.
09:56Hi.
09:57Hi.
09:58Hi.
09:59Hi.
10:00Hi.
10:01Hi.
10:02Hi.
10:03Hi.
10:04Hi.
10:05Hi.
10:06Hi.
10:07Hi.
10:08Hi.
10:09Hi.
10:10Hi.
10:11Hi.
10:12Hi.
10:13I've never worked with somebody
10:14that had that many specific requests.
10:17I'm not feeling fierce right now.
10:24We're making pretty dresses.
10:27Is it just me or is my hair bigger than usual?
10:29Pretty Tina Turner today.
10:31It's a little bigger than usual.
10:32Pretty Tina.
10:33I never made a prom dress before,
10:36but I make a lot of dresses,
10:37and I want to make something that's kind of like a mosaic.
10:40The silks that I chose will look like
10:42the inside of a jewelry box.
10:45I just want her to look really pretty.
10:48Was anyone the prom queen?
10:50You can be the queen, and I'll be the king.
10:52I'm the king, and Christian's the queen.
10:56My senior prom was fun.
10:58I was a prom princess, and funnily enough,
11:02my date was a prom prince.
11:04It was very Orange County.
11:07The dress I want to make for Brie
11:10is definitely unconventional,
11:12but I still want it to be pretty.
11:14Anybody got any good jokes?
11:16What would you call the Flintstones if they were gay?
11:18What?
11:19Facts.
11:24I get it.
11:26The night that I'm making this dress,
11:28most of my thoughts are in the dress,
11:30but I'm also thinking about my mom.
11:32She was a seamstress when we were kids.
11:34She made all my sister's prom dresses,
11:36and she was self-taught.
11:38By watching her, I learned about the technique of it.
11:47As a kid, you were poor.
11:48You weren't allowed to be creative
11:50because it wasn't gainful employment.
11:53You couldn't pay the rent.
11:54Like,
11:55if you win something like Project Runway,
12:00every door opens up, and...
12:03It would be the best thing that could happen.
12:10Okay, bye-bye, ma.
12:13Okay, bye-bye, ma.
12:18How did it become 8.30?
12:20Holy .
12:22She said she likes her butt sticking out.
12:24There you go.
12:26Nicole wanted lunging neckline
12:28and lunging in the back,
12:30and I tried draping that,
12:32and it just was not working.
12:34So I changed gears.
12:35I did my interpretation of what she wanted.
12:38I hope she likes it,
12:40but I'm not going home
12:42because I'm listening to a teenager.
12:44No, no way.
13:01I don't know if I can work anymore.
13:02I'm too tired.
13:03Okay, I'm stopping for the day.
13:08I'm at a stopping point.
13:10I want to stop looking at it for today.
13:14The dress is pretty much all together,
13:15and I made the tackiness that she wanted,
13:18and I just hate it.
13:19It's so tacky.
13:20No, because it just doesn't look like you.
13:22But I think if you got those details...
13:23Yeah, it's just because it's so tickety-tack right now.
13:27God.
13:28I need to make this dress my point of view,
13:31and I cannot let a 17-year-old girl
13:34overpower me.
13:36I just can't let this happen.
13:44Coming up on Project Runway.
13:45I'm looking at it.
13:47It's just...
13:48Hmm.
13:49I have no idea how to fix this dress.
13:51That's not the right attitude to have.
13:53Rally.
13:54Good morning, good morning.
14:01Today, we have till midnight to finish this challenge,
14:05and I definitely need to kick ass.
14:08Good morning, dress.
14:09How are you today?
14:10I did change things from the original design.
14:13I hope you're doing well,
14:14because I'm Randy.
14:18I'm doing this extensive beadwork and lace,
14:20and it's very intricate and very detailed,
14:22which is very me.
14:24I'm going to try my best to make something that I love,
14:26and hopefully she'll love it,
14:28even if it's not exactly what she wanted.
14:30I hope she likes it.
14:31My biggest fear is that she walks in and is like,
14:33blue!
14:34I never asked for blue.
14:36I thought I would like this,
14:37but it just doesn't look like me.
14:39It really looked like something
14:42an Italian older divorcee would wear.
14:46I wanted to, like, break it more.
14:49Yeah.
14:50I kind of made the executive decision
14:52to change the silhouette.
14:54I felt a bit nervous that she wouldn't like it,
14:56but at the end of the day,
14:58I decided to go with what I wanted.
15:00I trust you.
15:01I trust your attachment.
15:04Hi, everybody.
15:05I have a nice surprise.
15:08I'm sending in your clients for a fitting.
15:11You'll have 30 minutes with them.
15:13All right?
15:14Have fun.
15:16When the models come in,
15:17I see these older ladies.
15:18Nice to meet you.
15:19Nice to meet you.
15:20And I immediately think these are the mothers.
15:22So not only do I have to please Katie,
15:24I also have to please Katie's mother, Shirley.
15:27Wow, girl, you look hot.
15:29Hey, that's my daughter.
15:32I'm kind of, like, afraid on this part here to Kevin.
15:36It's kind of, like, bulging in this front here.
15:39It's kind of, like, that new baby doll style
15:42that just came out.
15:43Mom's a little skeptical about the halter dress.
15:45I just had to sell it to her.
15:47You don't look pregnant here?
15:49Stop.
15:50Mom's just a little crazy.
15:52It's all two, Kevin.
15:54All you.
15:56Can you turn to me?
15:57I changed it up a little bit,
15:59and it's not finished.
16:01It's not finished.
16:02So it was so different from how we had discussed,
16:05so I was nervous because I didn't think
16:08that she would like the dress.
16:10I love this.
16:11I'm glad.
16:12I was glad that I didn't have to compromise
16:14any sort of principles that I had
16:17as a fashion designer.
16:18My legs look nice in there.
16:20This is, like, a great color for her.
16:22It was so hard to find.
16:24Was it?
16:25Oh, my God.
16:26I'm so sad.
16:27I was talking to the mom, and I said,
16:29OK, I want to ask you a question.
16:32What did you think when you looked at my portfolio?
16:35Great.
16:36Well, it's a pretty cool costume portfolio.
16:37Yeah.
16:38Oh, thank you.
16:39My portfolio is full of pictures of me in drag
16:42wearing, like, ten-foot hair and giant fake boobs.
16:46Those are all me, you know.
16:47No.
16:48Oh, you didn't know that?
16:50I thought you would for sure know it was me.
16:54This is the style of it.
16:57It's not as low on the back.
16:59We'll go in there and try it on,
17:00and we'll see about the fitting of it.
17:01I did not cut the gown as low as she wanted
17:04because I was sort of worried that her parents
17:07would have me arrested.
17:08Looks very nice.
17:09I like the color a lot.
17:10I love it.
17:11They both love it.
17:12Very good.
17:13Oh, my God.
17:14Let me pull this in where it goes.
17:15I was happy her mom was there because I wanted a little backup.
17:20You look like a movie star.
17:21Yeah, definitely.
17:22Looks like I have a little rabid booty going on over here.
17:26The back is annoying here.
17:28I'm just looking at the back.
17:30Don't worry with the back.
17:32It'll be fine.
17:33So we put the dress on.
17:34She thinks it's awful.
17:36This thing in the sleeve here.
17:38You want another sleeve there?
17:39I'm not, like, bit all, like, this is so...
17:41I'm not a dressmaker.
17:43I'm a designer.
17:44That's very couture.
17:45He's the wonder kid around here, you guys.
17:47A little help from me.
17:48Mm-hmm.
17:49Lots of help from you.
17:51She was like, well, I designed this with him.
17:53It's just very annoying.
17:55I think that Christian should have steered the wheel
17:58maybe a little bit more with her
18:00because at the end of the day,
18:01it's his name that is on the dress.
18:03Very cute.
18:04I'm looking at it.
18:06It's just...
18:07Hmm.
18:08I have no idea how to fix this dress.
18:10I literally wanted to rip the dress off and give up.
18:13All right.
18:14I feel bad.
18:15There's, like, children suffering.
18:16Yeah.
18:21I want to be in the top this time.
18:23I am the underdog right now,
18:25and I really want to win this challenge
18:27because I feel like it's my turn.
18:29I've been on the bottom.
18:30You know what I mean?
18:31Like...
18:32I've been twice, once with my group.
18:34I've been voted off.
18:36I understand.
18:41Sorry.
18:42I'm not.
18:43I have no idea how to do it.
18:56I know.
18:57Hi, Chad.
18:58How are you?
18:59Hi, Ted.
19:00Hi, Kevin.
19:01Hi.
19:02So, how did it go this afternoon?
19:03How did Mom respond?
19:05Her mom was a little worrying about...
19:08About what?
19:09Just gathering.
19:10Really?
19:11I was a little concerned when I first met the mother
19:12because she was like,
19:13I don't know about the halter.
19:14I don't know about that.
19:15All right, just be really critically objective
19:17about everything.
19:20Okay.
19:20Because you know how the judging has been going.
19:22Yeah.
19:23How are you finishing the hem?
19:24I don't know.
19:25I might leave it.
19:25I might leave it raw.
19:26It just has to be exquisite.
19:29If they even notice that, to be honest.
19:30Oh, they'll notice.
19:31Nina will notice.
19:32Don't worry.
19:33Right.
19:34Okay.
19:34All right.
19:34Okay.
19:35Thanks, Kevin.
19:37All right.
19:38Hi, Rami.
19:38Hi.
19:39How are you?
19:39I'm good.
19:40The fitting one really well.
19:42She loved it.
19:43Can I just make one comment?
19:45Is she going to look like she's wearing her mother's dress?
19:47Do you know what I mean?
19:48There are a lot of, like, 17-year-olds these days
19:50that are really interested in, like, major fashions.
19:53They do tend to sort of grow up fast
19:55and look a little more, maybe a little older.
19:58But the fact that I'm happy with it
19:59and she's happy with it, I've already won.
20:01All right.
20:01Thanks, Rami.
20:02Thanks, Kim.
20:02I know that it's different.
20:04It's a risk.
20:05But having immunity can encourage me to take a risk.
20:09Hi, Victoria.
20:10Hi, too.
20:10How are you doing?
20:11I'm getting there.
20:13I got those crystal trim.
20:14I don't know if you recall.
20:15I do.
20:16They're going in this area?
20:17Yeah, exactly.
20:18So I think you'll make it look rich
20:20because I do think it's going to make a difference on the runway.
20:23All right.
20:24You still have a lot of work to go.
20:25Yes.
20:25So I'm hoping.
20:26All right.
20:26I'm going to let you do it.
20:27Okay.
20:27All right, Victoria.
20:28Work, work, work, work.
20:29Okay.
20:29I'll leave you alone.
20:31Kristen.
20:32Hello.
20:33I have been concerned about you all afternoon and evening.
20:37Why are you so doom and gloom about this?
20:40Why?
20:40Once I put it on her, she kept nitpicking, and I wanted to die.
20:45Well, I don't hate it.
20:46I see you in this.
20:48So how are you mitigating it?
20:49What are you doing?
20:50I'm just, I don't even know what I'm doing anymore.
20:53What's your fabric situation?
20:55I have none.
20:56None.
20:56Not one thing.
20:57What's this?
20:58This is a lot of fabric.
21:00This is your savior right here.
21:02And also, there's some flotsam and jetsam there on the floor.
21:05Trust me, I'm done.
21:07The matter of the fact is, somebody does have to go.
21:11So it probably won't be me.
21:12No, that's not the right attitude to have.
21:15Don't say that.
21:16Kristen, don't give up.
21:17You're too talented.
21:19You're too good.
21:20Don't give up.
21:21Rally.
21:22Okay.
21:22Thanks.
21:23All right, designers, you have a little less than two hours tonight.
21:29So make it work.
21:31I'll see you tomorrow.
21:32Thank you, Tim.
21:33Thank you, Tim.
21:34I don't want to hem this.
21:36What do you mean you don't want to hem it?
21:37So I think that would be unfinished.
21:39I'm not going to do it.
21:43That kid pistol.
21:45What the hell is with a pistol anyway?
21:48What's her mom's name?
21:49Machine gone.
21:50No, it's oozy.
21:55No, it's oozy.
22:07Okay, I'm done.
22:08Come on, go.
22:09All right, all right.
22:10Come on, little Korean girl.
22:11Come on, little tiny.
22:13My roommates.
22:13I'm on.
22:22I think Christian's just kind of, like, loosened up.
22:28It's that Erykah Badone.
22:30I don't know what it is.
22:32It's the comedy.
22:33You guys are really going to miss me tomorrow when I'm eliminated.
22:36Shut up.
22:38Coming up on Project Runway.
22:42Almost finished.
22:43Almost finished.
22:44Oh, we're not done.
22:45Until it's done, then you can't walk away.
22:48Admit it.
22:49You'll love me.
22:50I think Heidi should have made a prom dress, too.
22:59See what she would have come up with.
23:01I was raised in Jerusalem, and there is no prom there, so I have not experienced a prom.
23:08What would Heidi come up with?
23:10A very mini dress?
23:11A shirt.
23:12A later house in dress, I think, for Heidi.
23:14It's a new day, and I'm going to finish this dress.
23:26I'm going to make it work for her.
23:27It's going to be fabulous as much as it possibly can.
23:31I'm going to work it out.
23:32I need my model.
23:35How is everybody?
23:36Good morning.
23:38Good morning.
23:38Good morning.
23:40I'm about to send in your clients.
23:42You will have an hour with them before sending them to the Tresemme Hair Salon in the L'Oreal Paris Makeup Room.
23:48Wow.
23:49All right.
23:49Use your time well, okay?
23:52All right, guys.
23:53I'll see you later.
23:58There you are.
23:59I have so much work.
24:02You nervous?
24:03A little bit.
24:04Don't be nervous at all.
24:06When I had a girlfriend, I actually made her prom dress.
24:09There should have been a clue right there, right?
24:11Let's go in and put this on.
24:13It looks really cute with, like, these three buttons.
24:17I think we're going to be in the top today.
24:20Really?
24:21Go ahead.
24:22Go ahead.
24:23We should have bang.
24:25You look like a doll.
24:26Really good.
24:27It came in, right?
24:28Yeah.
24:29Yeah.
24:29She looks really pretty.
24:31She looks happy in her dress.
24:33My only concern is everyone else's color is really pop.
24:36It's a really loud color.
24:37And I'm the only one that really played with subtlety.
24:40But for her, it was the right color.
24:42Show me how you're going to walk.
24:43And I didn't feel like this.
24:47They were very giddy and loud and hyper and wild.
24:51That was a little bit different to kind of tune out all of that noise.
24:57Girls who go to Catholic school, they're really wild.
24:59I know.
25:00Oh, yeah.
25:00We love that.
25:01Honey, I went to Catholic school.
25:03Take a look at all y'all and take a look at me.
25:05Hello.
25:06Hello.
25:06This is you in 30 years.
25:08I went to Catholic school, and I was definitely one of those misbehaving types.
25:14I had a great time at my prom.
25:15That's all I'll say.
25:18So what do you guys want to do in life?
25:21Absolutely nothing.
25:22Public relations.
25:22Well, that's good.
25:23I want to sit at home.
25:25I did not go to my prom, no.
25:27I stayed home and watched old movies and got drunk.
25:31That was my life in high school.
25:35A little appreciation.
25:35Mixed with Hollywood glamour.
25:37Probably for prom, we should have the hair up.
25:39Like, pow, when she walks out.
25:45Electric blue, and it's a little edgy.
25:56Oh, we don't have to do much of anything.
25:59I fix everything.
26:00Awesome.
26:01Did you hem it, Kevin?
26:02I just put a stitch on the bottom.
26:04No hem.
26:06Just stitch.
26:08Why?
26:10Don't make me nervous.
26:12I told Kevin from the very beginning, I thought it was a bad idea not to hem the dress.
26:16You know, the thing of the stuff walking down the runway unfinished is just, you know, they kill you for it.
26:23No, not yet.
26:24We're not done.
26:25Can you get the shoes down?
26:26Well, when we're done.
26:27Just hold on.
26:29We're not done, sweetie.
26:30Almost finished, almost finished.
26:31Oh, we're not done.
26:33We're not done.
26:33Well, we're not done.
26:34And until it's done, then you can't walk away.
26:39Oh, poor Christian.
26:40Christian had a model who was, um, how shall we say, kind of outspoken.
26:47But the dress he made is really adorable.
26:52We're going to ask you how you feel in the dress, if you love it, what do you like.
26:58And, you know, I'm going to have to defend myself, so be prepared.
27:02Admit it.
27:03You love me.
27:07I feel like I want to give you a big hug.
27:09I feel like I'm going to have to go outside.
27:12Pin up, shoulders back, swing those arms.
27:16I thought the girls in the outfits looked stunning.
27:20I was giving you shoes, and I definitely really loved my dress.
27:23It looks fantastic.
27:24I'm super happy about it.
27:26Wow.
27:28All right, designers, models, we're heading to the runway.
27:33All right.
27:34You're fine.
27:35Out we go.
27:37Everybody looks gorgeous.
27:39Wow.
27:41Coming up on Project Runway.
27:43I am not crazy about that color at all.
27:45It looks cheap to me.
27:46That's not the issue.
27:47You need it to just take the volume, dial, and go.
27:53Welcome to the runway.
27:58As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
28:03For this challenge, we ask you to create a prom dress.
28:05For some discriminating young clients from St. John Fianney High School in New Jersey.
28:11We gave you $250 in two days to complete the prom dress.
28:16Let's meet the judges.
28:18First, we have top American designer, Michael Kors.
28:21Hey, guys.
28:22Next, we have Nina Garcia, fashion director of Elle magazine.
28:26Hi, everyone.
28:26Hi.
28:27And renowned designer, Gilles Mandel, head designer for Gilles Mandel.
28:32Hello, everyone.
28:32Hello.
28:32We will score your designs as they come down the runway.
28:36One of you will be named the winner, and one of you will be out.
28:40Let's start the show.
28:47When I see Nicole walk down the runway, I just want to cry.
28:51I love the dress.
28:52She looks so pretty, and I'm so happy.
28:56I'm happy with the dress.
29:07It's something that I definitely think that I would wear, that I'm happy to see Jess in.
29:14She was adorable.
29:14I think my prom dress, it's glamorous, and it's just what my girl wanted.
29:24It's not that crazy out of the box or anything, but I did it really well.
29:29I loved it.
29:34I kind of took a chance on this one.
29:35I was very daring.
29:37I thought it was great for Tizzy.
29:38It was a well-made dress.
29:44As my dress is walking down the runway, I'm happy with the way it moves and with the design,
29:54and it definitely fulfilled the challenge of satisfying the client.
30:05I love the dress in the front.
30:07The back was just awful.
30:09It was so short.
30:10It was really embarrassing.
30:14I'm really excited about the prom dress.
30:21I can tell that she feels great, and it suits her perfectly.
30:32I feel really good about my dress.
30:34I guess the best thing for me was my client was really happy.
30:37What more could I ask for?
30:44I love my dress.
30:47I know it's a risk, but I feel confident because Bianca is very happy with the idea and the design,
30:56and I thought she looked great.
30:57I love my dress.
31:06We've scored your designs.
31:09Will the following designers please step forward?
31:12Kit.
31:15Jillian.
31:18Chris.
31:19if i have called your name congratulations your scores have qualified you to move on
31:28to the next challenge you can leave the runway thank you
31:30the six remaining designers have the highest and the lowest scores one of you will be named
31:44the winner and one of you will be out let's bring out your models
31:49sweet pea tell us about your prom dress she wanted something grecian and she mentioned
32:09hollywood glamour i think it fits her body really good and and i personally love it
32:14nicole is this the dress that you asked sweet pea to make for you yeah this is exactly what i want
32:21the choice of the color i think is really good it's really very nice you know on her skin
32:25overall i think it's a pretty dress it's a little sophisticated for a 17 year old
32:32i guess it's my point of view but the fabric is very beautiful it's very pretty and as far as it
32:39being adult well let's be honest i mean look what hollywood at 18 is do me a favor turn around i i
32:46think overall it's really done well it's very flattering on her i think you look gorgeous
32:49okay kevin tell me about your dress lizzie walked in and i saw that she was um she was filipino and i
32:59wanted to do something that would complement her skin color so i automatically thought of red i am not
33:03crazy about that color at all she looks much older than her 17 years the dress to begin with is not
33:12really young looking and i think the cut of the dress is adding to the kind of matronliness of it
33:19and the other thing is i am distracted by the hemming i put a stitch on the bottom i didn't fold it under
33:25because i was scared it was gonna get worse it was gonna make it worse it also you know it looks cheap
33:30to me i agree i agree with all of you victoria is this the dress that jessica asked for i think it
33:39was the girl that she wanted to project herself to be for prom night i think that it's chic and
33:45young at the same time she looks like she's gonna have a good time in that i really like the choice
33:51of color it looks great on her it's fun it's modern it's appropriate and do you feel i love it you
34:00love it you know she looks terrific when i saw her on the runway she walked it and she felt like sparkling
34:06so it's wonderful christian tell us about your prom dress i will just be honest it was very hard
34:14she's very she's very opinionated i will tell you honey you know you are
34:21i actually like the dress i like the color and i love the work that you've done on it
34:25gil what do you think well there's definitely a conflict between both of them that really reflects
34:31already you know in the result he definitely is very labored uh there's a lot of work uh somehow
34:38definitely it doesn't for me totally relate with the lady who is wearing it i do agree with gil you
34:43have a lot of ruffles and you have a lot of lace which is exactly what she loves i want like lily
34:50legs here place here she wanted this whole front to be completely rhinestone and jeweled the whole time
34:57i think maddie is writhing wanting everything she wants but you as a designer need to have some kind
35:04of finesse and tact and how to deal with that i just don't like the fact that you're blaming maddie
35:11for some of your you know i don't know i don't like that thank you ricky what were you trying to
35:22say with this dress as a designer it's me the girl inside me would wear this perfect with your hat right
35:29how do you feel i like it i feel really good in it overall i think it's a cute dress execution i have
35:35some some issue at the bottom of the dress i just think that when it comes to the ruching
35:40it gets a little sloppy it it doesn't look like it's meant to be that way when i saw it for the
35:47first time i thought it just washed her out completely pretty but it's kind of boring i thought
35:54you needed to just take the volume dial and go you know what i mean the color volume up the drapery
36:03turn it up
36:03rami tell us about your dress when i met bianca the first thing she emphasized is comfort and
36:14something that is different it's really a a draped cocktail dress that's what i chose
36:20the color choice it doesn't to me uh give me the idea of prom it looks too lady at lunch to me you know
36:27the length is like at the knee mostly i think it's maybe too sophisticated for her may i respond to
36:34that yeah my work is always sophisticated as a designer this is my belief i think the most
36:39important thing is that i did not really give up too much of my vision but when i look at that dress
36:45she's a 35 year old woman in new york going out to dinner which is usually my customer it's it's old
36:50fashion it just is okay we've heard what you had to say thank you very much you can leave the runway
37:11so we really only like two this week it seems like there was definitely something about the gown
37:21that sweet pea made first off i think she finished it meticulously it fit her client very very well
37:28it's not easy to make a simple dress like that you know sexy but sort of elegant i liked it a lot
37:34and then there was victoria really really cute and it was really gutsy of her to go with something
37:41that bright it just looks like what a modern prom dress should look like i think she looks so adorable
37:47and the whole package was right with the rest of the designers we had some problems for example rami
37:57i think that the dress was beautifully draped but the color was old you know well also then his excuse
38:05is i don't work with young girls you know the challenge is a prom dress he was just designing
38:11for rami and that's it then you have someone like christian who clearly had a battle with his
38:19model i understand she was difficult and she had a personality but he kind of blamed everything on maddie
38:25i didn't appreciate that at all from christian i think he was working too hard on those details
38:31i feel the dress is way too worked i mean it's just like all over the place to me
38:38ricky i think it was such a non-event that dress you know the color washed her out totally i just think
38:45that in a weird way he had all the good intentions but at the end the drape was not very good it's like
38:51kind of like close but no cigar it's always the same every time
38:59that leaps is with kevin cheap yeah it doesn't look cheap i mean i think she looked like you know
39:0529.95 prom yeah the dressing look rich definitely and she looked older so much older than her 17 years
39:13it was with poor taste so we've made our decision yes okay let's call them back out
39:29one of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out
39:48one of you will be named the winner
39:49one of you will be out and now for the winner of this challenge there were actually only two of you
39:59that we liked victoria and sweet pea
40:08congratulations
40:09victoria thank you you are the winner of this challenge and as the winner you have immunity and
40:19you cannot be eliminated in the next challenge you and sweet pea can leave the runway all the
40:25self-imposed torture that i went through with this dress was worth it to get immunity because immunity
40:32is priceless
40:41ricky you're in you can leave the runway
40:53rami you're in you can leave the runway
41:02kevin christian one of you will be out
41:18kevin from head to toe the overall look was cheap and unflattering tiziana looked like she was 17
41:27going on 40. christian blaming maddie for the failure of your prom dress is inexcusable
41:37the execution was poor and that was your fault
41:46kevin
41:49you're out
41:49christian christian christian christian that means you're in you can leave the runway
41:54thank you thank you
42:01what he does mean kevin
42:06thank you very much i appreciate everything i really do i will promise you that you guys will
42:09see me out in the market definitely and i'm very proud to be here thank you bye
42:19i definitely wanted to go to brian park i want to show a collection but i'm gonna show a collection
42:25anyway hi everybody kevin we're gonna miss you a lot i will too i'm gonna be putting out a nice little
42:33line for all you guys and girls out there and uh you're gonna love it so this is just a stepping
42:37stone for the next uh chapter of my life plus i got a hug from heidi klum i mean that's that's not
42:44the worst thing in the world next on project runway i have a special announcement to make
42:55i wanted to throw up oh my god i was so pissed oh my god
43:04i'm trying to build us a cell phone tower so we can call out i'm not in school for a long
43:09okay that was frustrated the way she works i don't agree with it don't do just calm down
43:15the construction is a bit sloppy he ripped the sheets off the bed and ran out the door
43:20that is really distracting i don't want to go home visit bravo tv.com to learn more
43:24about the fashions you've seen on today's show
43:39it's a chamber plate
43:51thank you
