00:00July 18th, The Precious Blood, Healing for Wounded Hearts
00:05The Precious Blood of Jesus is a balm for every wounded heart.
00:10It is not simply a symbol of love.
00:13It is love poured out in the deepest act of solidarity with our pain.
00:18When Christ shed His blood, He entered into the very core of human suffering.
00:24Betrayal, abandonment, injustice, physical agony, and spiritual desolation.
00:31He did not remain distant.
00:32He allowed Himself to bleed so that our wounds might not remain open forever.
00:38Each of us carries hidden wounds, some from childhood, others from recent hurts.
00:44There are betrayals we've buried, fears we've silenced, losses that feel too heavy to speak of.
00:50The world tells us to move on, to be strong.
00:55But the cross invites us to do something deeper.
00:58To bring our wounds to the wounds of Christ.
01:01To let His precious blood flow into the places we are afraid to let anyone else see.
01:07Only divine love can touch these places without further wounding them.
01:12The blood of Jesus has power to restore what was broken.
01:16It can soften hearts that have turned to stone.
01:19It can wash away bitterness and rekindle trust.
01:23It speaks not only of forgiveness, but of healing.
01:27A healing that reaches beyond the surface.
01:30When we allow Jesus to touch our wounds with His blood,
01:34He does not simply bandage them.
01:36He makes them part of our redemption.
01:38He makes them holy.
01:40Saint Mary Magdalene knew this well.
01:42She had been a woman of deep sorrow and shame.
01:46Yet when she encountered Christ, her life changed.
01:50She was the first to stand at the foot of the cross and the first to see the risen Lord.
01:55Tradition holds that she spent the rest of her life in penance and contemplation.
02:00But she didn't live in regret.
02:02She lived in love.
02:03The precious blood had touched her so deeply that she gave the rest of her life in reparation and devotion.
02:12Her wounds became a place of encounter with mercy.
02:15Let us ask today for the courage to open our deepest wounds to the healing blood of Jesus.
02:23Not to hide anymore.
02:25Not to pretend we are whole when we are still bleeding.
02:28But to say with trust,
02:30Jesus, I place this into your wounds.
02:34Let your blood wash over it and make me new.
02:38Let us pray.
02:40Jesus, you see every wound in my heart.
02:42I bring them to you now, my past, my sorrow, my shame.
02:48Let your precious blood cover what I cannot fix.
02:51Heal what I cannot name.
02:53Through the intercession of Saint Mary Magdalene,
02:55who found in you the mercy that heals,
02:58help me to live not in regret, but in gratitude.
03:02May your blood be my medicine, my hope, and my healing.
03:06Amen.
