00:00Greetings, friends. Today we celebrate St. Charbel, the Silent Witness, hosted by A Blessed Call to Love.
00:11St. Charbel, born on 1828 in Lebanon, was a Maronite monk and priest, renowned for his piety, humility, and miraculous intercessions.
00:22Charbel showed a deep devotion to God, often seeking solitude to pray and meditate.
00:26At the age of 23, Charbel joined the Lebanese Maronite order, taking the name Charbel in honor of a second-century martyr.
00:35He lived a life of strict asceticism, dedicating himself to prayer, manual labor, and rigorous fasting.
00:43In 1875, Charbel was granted permission to live as a hermit at the Hermitage of Saints Peter and Paul, near the monastery.
00:50For 23 years, he lived in seclusion, deepening his relationship with God through continuous prayer and penance.
00:58St. Charbel passed away on December 24, 1898.
01:02After his death, many miracles were attributed to his intercession, leading to widespread veneration.
01:08Until we meet again, God bless you.
