00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Hewson-Bertz and we're once again about to embark on a wonderful week here in Greater Manchester.
00:06As such, it only feels right that I tell you some of the very best opportunities available to you in the region this week so that you can make the most of it all.
00:13We're going to start off with a couple of fun fairs that are springing up across the region, starting with the Summer Fun Fair over at Withenshaw Park.
00:19It kicks off on Friday the 25th of July and be a great way to get kids excited for what the summer holidays can bring.
00:25It runs up until the 3rd of August so you've got over a week to get there and give it a good try with rides, food, drink, activities and more.
00:32It promises to be a wonderful time.
00:34And there's also a fun fair at Charlton Park running from this Friday to this Sunday, meaning that you could feasibly fit in two fun fairs in one week.
00:41Again, there'll be great rides and a whole host of other offerings that guarantee it'll be a good day for the whole family.
00:46If your little ones are more adventurous though, there's a great trail that's just opened over at Tatton Park based on the much love story, we're going on a bear hunt.
00:53There are 10 bears to be found in the park with each sculpture telling its own story.
00:57It's there until September 2, so there's no excuse for not giving it a go.
01:00Sticking with adventure, instead of exploring a park though, this time we're going to be exploring space with Jodrell Bank Observatory celebrating 80 years since their opening.
01:07They've teamed up with the University of Manchester to put on an art project in which members of the public can submit a 23cm by 23 textile square inspired by space to make up a new commemorative quilt which will be put on permanent display.
01:19It's a great activity to get your teeth into before the competition ends on the 31st of August.
01:23Finally, Creatures Comedy Club have a comedy festival that started this weekend and runs up until the end of July with more than 30 comedy acts being featured, many of whom will be testing out some of their Edinburgh Fringe jokes.
01:33There's going to be some locals and some big international names, so get some tickets and don't miss out.
01:38That's all for now though, thank you very much for watching, have a great week and follow Manchester World for more.
