Sunderland creating “good atmosphere” in pre-season says Le Bris

00:00Sunderland are creating a good atmosphere. They are the words of head coach Regisla Brice

00:05from their training camp in Portugal this week. Sunderland are still very much in the

00:10midst of preparations for the Premier League.

00:12I think the atmosphere is really good to work hard. I think this part of the season is really

00:18important to set the foundations, to set the standards, to work hard and to enjoy the sun

00:25because it's sunny, it's hot but I think we need to feel this atmosphere to build strong

00:32foundations.

00:33You obviously had some really nice weather over in the North East in the last week or so

00:38but like you said, to come over here in extremely hot conditions, what is the big thing you want

00:42to get out of this week?

00:43I think it's always interesting to change the place just to create like a starting point.

00:52So we did it last year at the beginning of the season and just before the playoffs as

00:57well. So it works well to create connections with players. We spent time together and the

01:06objective is really clear without something to disturb. We are only focused on our preparation.

01:14And Middlesbrough head coach Rob Edwards has remarked on what he has described as a valuable

01:19week as Middlesbrough have also been away on a pre-season training camp ahead of the new

01:24championship season.

01:25Good for us to get to know them more and for them to really get an understanding of what

01:29we want and what we're going to be and how we're going to go about our work. And we're

01:34a new group of staff, you know, so it's been a really valuable week, really enjoyed it.

01:37Moving it next week now, back to Rockliffe next week, what are you looking for in terms

01:41of the next signs of progression from the team?

01:42There will be some good stuff to get from today. So we can review that. There will be some good

01:51things that we will be able to break down and show some individuals, some really good individual

01:54performances. But I'm just looking for more now, looking for better. We want to build a

01:58winning environment, a winning culture. And I believe the way we want to go about it is

02:03the right way. I feel like the lads have really bought in. I really do. So just more, more, better,

02:09drive the standards even higher. I'm really looking forward to getting back to Rockliffe

02:14and seeing everyone as well.
