Sunderland developing “team spirt” claims Le Bris after encouraging result against Sevilla

00:00Sunderland are continuing to develop their team spirit, said Regis Labrice, following

00:04their 1-1 draw against Sevilla in pre-season.

00:07I think the main point today was to keep moving on with the team spirit, because it's one

00:14of our key pillars, the way we want to attack together, the way we want to defend together,

00:21so it was two different games in the same one.

00:25So the first half, I think, we had the opportunity to score two or three goals, but we didn't,

00:30but I think the team spirit was good, and the second half was a bit different, because

00:34I think Sevilla had its best squad at that moment, so we defended well, and we had two

00:41or three chances, with the opportunity to score again.

00:45So I'm really happy with the togetherness, because I think it's the identity of Sunderland.

00:54Some of the other downsides to this pre-season trip so far, seeing when May and Wendel travel

00:59back to the UK, it's due to injury, can you tell us the latest on him?

01:06Yeah, he had a surgery today, so we'll have to wait for the recovery.

01:15According to Middlesbrough head coach Rob Edwards, Borat are still learning as a side and developing

01:20cohesion following their three-all draw against Mansfield on Saturday afternoon.

01:25It was alright, got some good feedback from it, I think, you know, we're still learning

01:30a lot about the group, about the players, and yeah, I think I took a lot from the day.

01:34Yeah, and you can obviously see the patterns of player coming through, especially in that

01:36first half. How pleasing is that to see so early on still?

01:38Yeah, it's good. You know, the lads, like I said, they have been really, really good and

01:43they're trying to buy into what we want to do. We want to press high, we want to be aggressive,

01:48we want to win the ball back quickly, we want the game, you know, we want it to be exciting

01:52and just keep the ball as far away from our goal as possible. I thought we saw elements

01:55of that in the first half and some good stuff, scored a couple of great goals, scored a goal

01:58from a set piece, which shows lots of positives. And in the second half, I wasn't looking the way I

02:04wanted to be looking in the pitch as much, you know, and the boys know that then. So we,

02:10there was some bits to, you know, that we found out, I think in the second half as well.
