00:17Well, I always wanted to foster. It's been something that I've always wanted to do in my life.
00:22I love children and I always felt it would be really nice to take a child who doesn't have a home to live in.
00:30When I was a child, we had a little boy. He came and stayed with us for a week and we had the most amazing time with him.
00:37And I suppose that's where I got this feeling of having a child with me and how nice it would be to do that.
00:43Whenever the wee man came into my life and we just fell in love and the time came where it was obvious that he needed to move on and find a permanent home.
00:52I just said, well, can he come and can he stay with me? Can he live with me?
00:56And that's when the whole fostering began.
01:00I would say to someone who would want to be a foster carer that definitely do it.
01:06You don't have to do it as a long time. You don't have to do it.
01:09You can do respite. You can try that out at the start just to see how it fits in in your life with your family.
01:15You don't have to be a certain age and you don't have to have a family around you.
01:21You can do it on your own. It doesn't matter whether you're a man or a woman and you can still become a foster carer.
01:28You just have to have lots of love, lots of patience.
01:34Be prepared to put this little person first and foremost in your life.
01:38The best thing about being a foster carer is I have my wee mam with me all the time.
01:43I love him so much. I couldn't imagine my life without him.
01:47We're like two wee peas in a pod. We're here for each other.
