00:00The race for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards is here and with Emmy nominations just around the
00:05corner, THR TV critics Daniel Feinberg and Angie Han are diving deep into who they think should
00:11be the rightful contenders. For Best Comedy Series, Feinberg notes that it could be another
00:17showdown between Hacks and The Bear. After Max's Hacks upset The Bear in this race last Emmys,
00:23there was some speculation that FX might consider a jump in categories for the restaurant drama.
00:28Nope. Other shows he'd like to see nominated include Shrinking, A Man on the Inside and
00:33Somebody Somewhere, plus Abbott Elementary and The Rehearsal. As for Best Actor, Han is pushing
00:38for Somebody Somewhere's Jeff Hiller. She also adds Nathan Fielder for HBO's The Rehearsal,
00:44Ted Danson for Netflix's A Man on the Inside, Adam Brody for Netflix's Nobody Wants This,
00:50as well as Seth Rogen's never-ending panic attack on Apple TV Plus' The Studio and Everything
00:55Everyone Is Doing on FX's What We Do in the Shadows. As for the actresses, Feinberg sets his sights on
01:01Stephanie Hsu in Laid, Kristen Bell for Nobody Wants This, and returning favorites such as Quinta
01:06Brunson for Abbott Elementary, Iowa Debery for The Bear, and Natasha Leone for Poker Face.
01:12He also notes, this is where Hannah Einbinder belongs, right alongside Hack's co-star Jean Smart.
01:18As for drama, Han says it's hard to think of a series more searingly of the moment than Andor.
01:24She also credits Max's The Pit, HBO's Industry, and AMC's deliriously twisted interview with the
01:29vampire as hopeful contenders. For actors, Feinberg has his eyes on Adam Scott for Severance,
01:35Noah Wiley for The Pit, Zahn McLernan for Dark Winds, and Diego Luna for Andor.
01:41A good list could also include Matthew Goode for Netflix's Department Q,
01:45Sterling K. Brown for Hulu's Paradise, and the reliable Gary Oldman for Apple TV Plus' Slow Horses.
01:52And for the actresses, Han says Bella Ramsey blew me away with their fury and vulnerability on HBO's
01:57The Last of Us, and also includes Britt Lauer for Severance, Marissa Abella for Industry,
02:03and Melanie Linsky and Sophie Nellis for Yellow Jackets.
02:06Nominations for the 77th Primetime Emmys are set to be announced on Tuesday, July 15th,
02:11with the telecast airing on CBS and Paramount Plus on September 14th.
