00:00The Utah Jazz feature maybe the most discussed rookie
00:04from this year's class in Ace Bailey.
00:07There was a push and pull.
00:09You know, is he actually going to show up?
00:12Well, he did.
00:13And he's played for this team in the Utah portion
00:17of the summer league, showing us a little bit.
00:21I guess I should just start here, coach,
00:22and then we can, you know, put it in a box,
00:24maybe hopefully forever.
00:25Do you now feel like Bailey and Utah all good
00:29he's locked in, he's there,
00:31whatever the issues were, they've been worked out?
00:34Well, I think it's very simple, is he wanted to be a star
00:36and he wanted to have the playing time.
00:39And I told people, when we looked at it, I said,
00:42I'm looking at four guys, right?
00:44I'm looking at Sexton, Clarkson, Collins, Markkinen,
00:48and I said, you got to move at least three of them.
00:50And every time that you move a player,
00:52that opens up shots and opportunities
00:54for a player like Ace Bailey.
00:57Well, Collins, Sexton, check, gone, right?
00:59Jordan Clarkson, gone to the Knicks.
01:01Collins, we'll talk about that later,
01:03what his impact would be with the Clippers.
01:05So now there's a pathway and a playing time
01:07for Ace Bailey.
01:09And listen, I'm going to say the same thing
01:12I said about Cooper Flagg.
01:14I don't care if you make shots.
01:19I don't care about field goal shooting percentage.
01:21Go look at what Wemby did his first game
01:23in summer league.
01:24Go look at Porzingis.
01:26Very rarely does a guy in a first year
01:28in a first family game come out hotter than fish grease.
01:30You know it and I know it, right?
01:32I want to see the other stuff.
01:34I want to see if you rebound.
01:36I want to see if you pass the ball.
01:38I want to see if you play defense.
01:39And all of those things were what people,
01:42honestly, were questioning about Ace Bailey
01:45coming into the draft.
01:46Does he play enough defense?
01:48Michael didn't hold him accountable enough.
01:50You know, guy with the amount of volume
01:52that he had with the ball
01:53averaged like 1.5 assists.
01:56Doesn't he rebound enough?
01:57Well, to me, if he struggles on the floor shooting,
02:01but I got all the rest of it,
02:03then I'm good.
02:04I am, I was all on board.
02:06I still said going into this draft,
02:08he was the number three overall prospect.
02:10I could, you could argue he could have been number two,
02:12but the way he acted slid him down to boards.
02:15Utah got their guy.
02:17And I think it's all good now
02:18because a lot of the other guys got moved.
02:20Yeah, I think that Ace Bailey,
02:22whatever, whatever the holdup was,
02:24it feels behind us.
02:25And I was, I liked what I saw from Ace Bailey
02:29in those games.
02:30I thought he, to coach's point,
02:31was doing a lot of the other stuff.
02:33And I think a lot of people who were not
02:35as in on Ace Bailey as I know my, I was myself.
02:38Well, oh, he's never going to do those things.
02:40And I thought those things were the aspects
02:42of his game that shined, which was nice to see.
02:45But now we can then move on
02:46from the oddness of the Ace Bailey situation
02:49and now address the outrageousness
02:50of the Utah Jazz situation.
02:53Danny Ainge goes to Utah to take over
02:55and be a big part of what they're doing.
02:57Then they bring in Austin Ainge
02:59and basically upon arrivals,
03:01like the tanking is done.
03:04And either the Ainge's have completely lost
03:08their touch as dealsmen,
03:10or they are purposely losing trades
03:14in order to give themselves a chance to tank
03:17and nosedive towards one of the top three players
03:20in next year's draft class.
03:22Because Colin Sexton to Charlotte
03:24for Yusuf Nurkic and a second is outrageous.
03:29Actually, I think the second might've gone.
03:30The other, it was a awful trade.
03:32Colin Sexton is a legitimately good player
03:34that I think you'd like to have on a maybe winning team
03:36if you could as like a sixth man option.
03:38I don't know why he's on Charlotte.
03:40Yusuf Nurkic is a backup big to Walker Kessler,
03:43who's like clearly never getting traded
03:45despite the fact he's always in trade rumors.
03:47Then they got Jordan Clarkson.
03:50Okay, that's fine.
03:51That is what he ultimately got signed for the minimum.
03:53It's not like they could have done much better.
03:55But then you get this, you know,
03:57three team scenario where Norm Powell's in Miami.
04:00Okay.
04:01John Collins is with the Clippers.
04:03Okay.
04:04And the return for the Jazz is Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson,
04:07who feel like they may play a combined zero games
04:10for the Utah Jazz.
04:10Kevin Love is definitely not playing for the Utah Jazz.
04:15No, done.
04:15So we look at this basketball team here, JY,
04:19and, you know, Lowry Markadon seems very comfortable
04:22with the early SGA OKC plan of I'll play 50 games
04:27and then you can send me off for an early summer
04:29and I'll sit out and make sure all the losing is good.
04:33I'm not going to, I don't need the league to step in.
04:36I just don't know why the Jazz tried to say
04:38they were done tanking
04:39because every single thing they are doing screams,
04:41we want to, we hope we go 0-82 next year.
04:44All right.
04:45Here we go.
04:52Here we go.
