00:00Do you think they should put these in their contract? Kevin, that's what I've been kind of proposing that if
00:06you really want the NBA All-Star game to matter and be a focal point on promoting the game, do
00:12you make it so that in the next collective bargaining agreement, you think you add that component to the contract?
00:17Dan, there's a bunch of stuff you have to add to those contracts, but if you're paying a guy $40
00:22million a year or $50 million, you're damn right I expect them to do a lot of things.
00:29And so I think that it'll be a very interesting collective bargaining negotiation this time around because a lot of
00:36things have to change.
00:37Load management is ridiculous. It's the stupidest thing ever. And if a guy can't make it through, you know, and
00:43play at least, you know, 80% of those games, then I don't know that they should be getting all
00:49that money.
00:51How much do you think tanking is hurting the NBA right now, too? And what we're seeing, like we saw
00:56with that Jazz and Orlando game a week ago, how much do you think that's hurting the game?
01:01I can't wait until professional sports in the United States adopts a European model, especially like a Premier League model,
01:08and they start doing relegation.
01:09The day you start doing relegation, everything changes. Everything will change. And so I just think you have to figure
01:16that out because as you expand and you add more international franchises, which the NBA wants to do, just like
01:22the NFL, they want to go international.
01:23I think you have to put in some kind of incentive for teams to play hard throughout. And the best
01:30thing in the world is relegation. If you have a chance to move up and you're in the G League,
01:34amazing.
01:35If you have a chance to, if you're going to get relegated, damn it, you're going to play. Dudes are
01:40going to be out there on the court and they're going to play their butts off if the team is
01:43about to get relegated.
