00:00I'm Chris Kendall and I'm a British voiceover actor.
00:04Today, Chris Kendall stands as one of Europe's most sought-after voiceover artists
00:08with a voice recognised across high-profile ad campaigns, TV and radio spots,
00:14and national broadcasters.
00:16From global giants like Google and Amazon to trusted names like the BBC, NHS, Deluxe, Dr Pepper,
00:23Chris brings messages to life with clarity, warmth and authority.
00:26I've never been a normal child, ever.
00:28I mean, in this day and age, who's normal?
00:30Really.
00:31When I was nine years old, I had a fascination with radio and electronics
00:35and taking things apart and figuring out how they work.
00:37One day, I got a tape player and a cassette tape recorder,
00:45and I started recording a show over the top, well, I thought it was a show,
00:51over the top of the tape while playing the music behind us.
00:54But every time the door opened and it would creak,
00:58I would have to then stop the tape and redo the whole thing again because of my perfectionism
01:02of not wanting any noises or anything in the audio.
01:06And then every Sunday, I would play this tape against the will of my parents.
01:13They would be subjected to listening to this squeaky nine-year-old voice radio show every Sunday.
01:23From that point, I went on to think, okay, how can I make things better?
01:29So I started going to the library because I didn't have a great circle of friends,
01:35of any friends, but it didn't bother me because I was quite happy on my own.
01:39I used to go to the library and I looked up radio transmission books
01:43and electronic parts and stuff, and I was thinking, okay,
01:48so I was learning about radio waves and how they work,
01:50and I then thought, ooh, I know what I'll do.
01:54I'll play this over walkie-talkie,
01:57and then I can listen to myself while I'm out and about.
02:00I've come from a position where people told me I couldn't do something
02:06to the point where I am now,
02:09where I'm an award-winning, internationally recognised,
02:13represented voiceover actor,
02:15and I help communities and grassroots as much as possible.
02:22I'm also helping a local radio station called Radio Northumberland
02:28with their whole imaging, their voiceovers,
02:31the production of the station.
02:34And I love to help people because I didn't have that help
02:38when I was growing up.
02:40So it doesn't matter where they are.
02:42It doesn't matter where they are.
02:44I have helped so many people internationally.
02:47But the North East, I love to help because, obviously,
02:51I'm from the North East, and we need as much help as we can get,
02:56especially in this day and age.
02:58I'm from the North East, and we need as much help as we can get,

03:07and we need as much help as we can get,
