00:00Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has told the Subang and Petaling Jaya MPs
00:04that special allocations are meant for their constituents, not politicians.
00:10Speaking at an event in Petaling Jaya today,
00:13the Pakatan Harapan chairman said the two parliamentary constituencies
00:17would continue to benefit from development projects approved under the previous budget.
00:22The Prime Minister said this despite the MPs being barred from accessing
00:27the online portal managing special funding.
00:30He clarified that Subang had an allocation of RM1.6 million
00:34while Petaling Jaya had RM3 million, which would be used for schools,
00:40houses of worship, and other necessary projects.
00:43In May, PKR's Subang MP Wong Chen and Petaling Jaya MP Lee Qianchong
00:49were barred from accessing the MyCast portal.
00:52Both had attended the launch of Parti Bersama Malaysia,
00:55led by former PKR leaders Rafizi Ramli and Nick Nazmi Nick Ahmad.
01:01In June, the Prime Minister's Department said its Implementation and Coordination Unit
01:06would directly channel and manage parliamentary allocations for the two constituencies
01:11to ensure their constituents' needs were met.
01:14Government spokesman Fahmy Fadzil said the move did not affect Wong and Lee's rights
01:20or functions as elected representatives.
01:23The Communications Minister said the allocations were special funds
01:27under the Prime Minister's purview
01:29and separate from MPs' parliamentary facilities and entitlements.
