3 slices of ginger
12 oz/340 g shrimp
1/4 tsp salt

1/16 tsp white pepper powder
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp water
1/2 tsp sesame oil
3 cloves of garlic
3 stalks of green onion
1 tsp rice wine
1 tsp oyster sauce
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp black pepper

Today we are making Shrimp and Pepper Stir Fry.

This is another easy, tasty and nutritious dinner recipe.

The shrimp is succulent with a nice balance of savouriness and natural sweetness.

The bell pepper is crisp and delicious.

I will show you how easy it is to make this dish in your own kitchen.

Let's get started.

We will start by finely mincing 3 cloves of garlic.

And preparing 3 slices of ginger.

Then prepare 3 green onions and cut it into 2-inch sections.

Keep the pieces from the stem part and the leafy part separate,

because we will use them at different times during cooking.

Next, cut half of an onion into large shapes.

Take the time to separate the layers of the onion now.

We will also need 1 bell pepper.

I am using red and green bell pepper today for a more colourful look.

You can use whatever colour bell pepper you have handy.

Simply cut the bell pepper into bite-sized pieces.

Now the shrimp, I am using peeled and deveined shrimp.

Rinse the shrimp with cold water and patty dry.

Then marinate it with salt,

a little bit of sugar,

some white pepper powder,

and a little bit of water.

Mix it up thoroughly.

And then mixing a touch of sesame oil.

The last thing we need to prepare is some corn starch and water mixture.

Simply mix corn starch with cold water and stir until all the corn starch dissolves.

Now we are ready to cook.

Add some oil to a hot pan over medium high heat.

And add the onion and the bell pepper to the pan.

Spread them out, let them pan fry for 20 seconds.

Then season it with a tiny bit of sugar and a little bit of salt.

Then stir fry for about 90 seconds.

When the time is up, remove it from the pan.

At this point, it should be a little bit undercooked.

Add a little more oil to the pan if needed.

And put the ginger in the oil.

Let the ginger sizzle in the oil briefly to release some flavor.

Then we can add the shrimp to the pan.

Spread it out and let the pan fry until the bottom is golden brown.

Then turn the shrimp over and pan fry until the other side is also golden brown.

At this point, we can add the minced garlic and the stem part of the green onion to the pan.

Stir fry everything together briefly.

Then we will add a touch of rice wine.

If you cannot use wine in your cooking, you can skip this step.

Give it a few quick toss to let the alcohol evaporate.

Then we will season it with oyster sauce, soy sauce and dark soy sauce.

Continue to stir fry until all the shrimp look even in color.

Then we will add the cornstarch and water mixture to the pan.

Make sure you stir up the mixture first because cornstarch tends to settle on the bottom.

The liquid will quickly boil and thicken up into a sauce.

Once you see the sauce has thickened up like this, we can add the onion and bell pepper back to the pan.

Also add the leafy part of the green onion, a touch of sesame oil and a little bit of crushed black pepper.

Now all we have to do is give it a few quick toss to mix everything evenly and we are done.

Serve this with some rice or noodle on the side and you have a healthy and delicious dinner ready to go.
