00:00The heat is on in the case of the missing cockfighters.
00:03NAPLCOM is urging whistleblower Alias Totoy to step up and file a former complaint
00:08as cops are now in the hot seat.
00:10The Navy is also on standby to dive into Taal Lake once the DOJ gives the green light
00:15while questions swirl about possible influence over the courts.
00:19As our Ryan Lesigues tells us more.
00:44NAPLCOM is now urging Alias Totoy to formally file a complaint in relation to his new revelations
00:49which implicates several police officers allegedly involved in the disappearance of around 100 cockfighters.
00:55According to NAPLCOM Vice Chairperson Attorney Rafael Vicente Calinisan,
00:58it would be better if Alias Totoy submits an affidavit to NAPLCOM
01:02so that an administrative investigation can proceed against the police officers he claims are involved in the case.
01:09The official stressed that they will not hesitate to dismiss from service
01:12any police officers who colluded to kill the victims and dump them into a lake.
01:17He also said that if the new whistleblower fails to cooperate,
01:21NAPLCOM is ready to stand as the complainant.
01:23NAPLCOM will also strive to resolve the case within 60 days.
01:26Calinisan has already ordered the inspection monitoring and investigation service
01:30to conduct a motoproprio investigation.
02:08Nanawag, Calinisan also urged the complainant to file a formal complaint
02:12with NAPLCOM to expedite the resolution of the case.
02:15Meanwhile, the divers of the Philippine Navy are ready and capable of searching
02:18for the allegedly missing cockfighters in Taal Lake.
02:21According to the Navy, the technical divers will come from their Naval Special Operations Command
02:26and Naval Combat Engineering Brigade who are capable of diving up to 100 meters.
02:31However, Taal Lake is estimated to be up to 200 meters deep,
02:35which poses a challenge along with the weather conditions.
02:38Therefore, some equipment such as side scanners will also be used.
02:41For now, they are still awaiting the go signal from the Department of Justice.
03:04Meanwhile, the DOJ will speak with Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Giesmundo
03:07regarding the case of the missing cockfighters.
03:10According to Justice Secretary Crispin Rimulia,
03:12one of the accused in the missing cockfighters' case
03:15mentioned that their mastermind could get away with the case
03:18because of influence in the courts.
03:20Ryan Lisiguez from the National TV Network
03:23for a new and better Philippines, Camp Krameng.
