00:11In a Truth Social post, Trump claims that the war criminal has done much for Israel.
00:19Trump said he had just learned that Netanyahu was due in court on Monday
00:23and added that it was the United States of America that saved Israel
00:27and now it is going to be the United States of America that saves Bibi Netanyahu.
00:32It was unclear if Trump meant the U.S. could do anything to help Netanyahu in his legal battle.
00:38Netanyahu was indicted in 2019 on charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust
00:44in three criminal cases, which he denies.
00:47The trial began in May 2020 but has faced repeated delays,
00:51including postponements requested by Netanyahu due to the war in Gaza
00:55and later conflict in Lebanon.
00:58According to Israeli media, cross-examination began on June 3rd in the Tel Aviv court
01:03and is expected to last about a year.
01:06Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who has the authority to grant a pardon,
01:10has said the option is not currently on the table.
