Trump has sent a formal letter to Israeli President Isaac Herzog urging him to pardon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling the ongoing corruption case against him “political” and “unjustified.” Herzog’s office confirmed receiving the letter and released excerpts in which Trump praised Netanyahu as a longtime ally who “fought alongside me for a long time, including against the very tough adversary of Israel, Iran.”
