00:00In Panama, labor and social organizations will march Friday to demand the repeal of a pension regulation in the country.
00:07Trade unions stated that the march will start from Murraca Park in Panama City to Cinco de Mayo Square in the vicinity of the National Assembly,
00:16where they will present their claims.
00:19Demonstrators will also reject an agreement signed between the Molina government and the United States
00:25that allows the establishment of military bases and the entry of troops from that country.
00:31They further label the agreement as harmful to national sovereignty.
00:35Likewise, marchers will also denounce the persecution and imprisonment of union leaders,
00:40as well as judicial and police repression of protests.
00:44Meanwhile, the President of Panama, José Raúl Molina, announced that he will implement constitutional measures
00:56to stop the protests and road blockades that have been taking place in the province of Bocas del Toro for almost two months.
01:04This is due to the strong police repression that so far has registered, at least two dead,
01:10and dozens of people arrested, in addition to raids on the headquarters of social organizations and unions.
