00:00In Panama, workers and students have taken to the streets to voice their opposition to
00:04the visit of U.S. State Secretary Marco Rubio and in repudiation of threats made by President
00:11Donald Trump over a possible takeover of the Panama Canal.
00:15For four days in a row, the people of Panama have staged demonstrations in rejection of
00:20the expunctionist plan of the U.S. government and of its implications for the sovereignty
00:26of the nation.
00:27Panamanian workers have urged President José Raúl Mulino to defend Panama's sovereignty
00:32over the canal following his meeting with the U.S. top diplomat.
00:36Through these demonstrations, the labor unions in Panama are expressing their commitment
00:42to defend their country's sovereignty.
00:48We do not accept a betrayal nor any kind of deal, neither with Mulino nor with the gringos.
00:54We are going to defend the nation.
00:57The gringos, the political parties, and the assembly are corrupt, the president is corrupt,
01:03and the people will have to oust him, for selling out the country, for being corrupt.
