00:00Hi guys and welcome to DriveSpark and in today's news we are going to tell you about the new Fastag
00:05annual pass detail that was shared by our Road Transport and Highway Minister Mr Nitin
00:10Gutkari on X on Wednesday. Now the new system will be using the existing Fastag infrastructure
00:17but eventually replace toll booths with sensor based collection system relying on the GPS and
00:23vehicle tracking. Now the government is introducing a new Fastag based annual pass
00:28priced at Rs 3000. Now as I mentioned that Mr Gutkari had already mentioned this on an official
00:34post. Now to be issued from August 15 the pass will be available for only non-commercial private
00:40vehicles. That means yellow plates that is the commercial vehicle will not be on this list.
00:46This pass is only for private vehicles and this will be valid from a year of the date of activation
00:52or up to 200 trips whichever comes first. So basically if you are traveling for more than 200
00:59trips obviously your Fastag will expire or if you complete one year then obviously you will have to
01:06recharge it again. Now in a quote Nitin Gutkari said that the annual pass will enable seamless and
01:12cost-efficient travel across the national highway throughout a country. A dedicated link for activation
01:18and renewal will soon be made available on the Rajmaa Kiatra app as well as on the official website
01:24of NHAI that is the National Highway Association of India and the Ministry of Road Transport and
01:30Highways. The policy addresses long-standing concerns regarding toll plaza located at 60 kilometer range
01:37and simplifies tolls payments throughout a single affordable transaction. Now there were talks about
01:44this last month about the government working on a new toll policy and we already made a video on that
01:49but this is a confirmation from the government and Mr. Gutkari himself. So the annual toll policy is now
01:56official. Obviously there were rumors back then that there would be two kinds of passes. One is the
02:02annual pass. A one-time Fastag recharge of rupees 3,000 would allow private vehicles to travel across the
02:08national highway and state express highways of India without additional toll charges. And the second
02:15thing was distance-based. Now that is basically for those who do not want to opt for the annual mode.
02:21A Fastag of rupees 50 per 100 kilometers could replace the current toll plaza structure. While the
02:28former has been announced that is the annual pass that has been announced. It is unclear if Mr. Gutkari
02:33will also operate the latter option which is the distance-based option. Incidentally, the government has
02:38leave a proposal of a lifetime fast tag also. Now what is a lifetime fast tag? So it will cost you
02:44rupees 30,000 unlimited trips but it will only be valid for 15 years. That means after 15 years your
02:52fast tag will expire. If you use it, if you do not use it, if you go on trips or you are traveling it
02:58will expire in 15 years. So this news is basically very helpful for people who are traveling and who love
03:05to travel with their families, traveling alone and experience toll booths in between. So yeah,
03:10once again, an annual one-time fast tag recharge for rupees 3,000 will allow private vehicles to
03:16travel across the national highway and state expressway for a year without additional toll charges.
03:23So this was the latest news. If you like this video, please give it a thumbs up, share and subscribe to

03:31for watching. Take care, be safe and drive safe.
