00:00Manchester United have completed their first summer signing and here is what it means for the rest of their transfer business.
00:08Mateus Cunha has officially completed his move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
00:13It was announced earlier in the month that a deal was in place for the Wolves star to move to Old Trafford.
00:19And that has all been finalised and officially confirmed now.
00:23It was still pending a visa and squad registration being approved by the Premier League.
00:29That's all gone through now and Mateus Cunha has posed in the United shirt.
00:33He has been officially announced as United's first signing of the summer window.
00:38Of course, it's a £62.5 million release clause that Manchester United will pay in three equal instalments over their next three summers starting this year.
00:48And it's a five-year deal with the option of an additional year as well.
00:53So Mateus Cunha to Manchester United, that's confirmed. That's in the bag already.
00:56United, of course, still looking to add other attacking talent to their first team squad this summer as well.
01:02A deal is still being discussed for Brentford star Brian Mbwemo.
01:06United saw their opening bid rejected for the playmaker.
01:10They're expected to go back with a revised bid to Brentford.
01:14There's no real rush on that one. United still in talks over the deal and they want to make sure that they're going back with a second bid that's more likely to be accepted.
01:21They don't want to have this back and forth between the two clubs. It doesn't do anyone any favours.
01:27So Cunha signed. A deal for Mbwemo is still being worked on in the background.
01:31Ruben Amarin would love to add two attacking midfielders to his squad.
01:35And there's a preference for those who are already proven in the Premier League as he looks to improve the athleticism and overall fitness of his first team squad.
01:44Beyond that, well, it's the striker. That's what you're all interested in, really.
01:49Even if United sign Cunha and Mbwemo, they want to sign a proven goal scorer in attack as well.
01:55Liam de Lappe was the preferred option. United viewed him as the best value for money in the summer transfer window.
02:00He, of course, is now signed for Chelsea.
02:03So the players that United could get in attack, well, Victor Jocherez is still viewed as the dream addition.
02:08Of course, there's a lot of dispute going on over his future at Sporting Lisbon.
02:13It's alleged that they had a gentleman's agreement that he could leave for 60 million euros this summer, plus 10 million euros in additional fees.
02:22But it's now being claimed that Sporting won a fee closer to his £100 million release clause after such a superb season in which Sporting won a league and cup double.
02:32So, yeah, Jocherez is believed to be frustrated with the way that's being handled by the Portuguese club,
02:38who want to cash in on him and get as much money as possible for a very in-demand asset.
02:44He's United's preferred option probably now in attack.
02:47Juventus also like him. There's interest in Saudi Arabia.
02:49And, of course, Arsenal also keeping tabs on Jocherez as well.
02:54In terms of other options, Victor Oseman is still someone who could potentially come back on the radar for United.
03:00There's no real standout candidates at the moment, but Oseman is someone that United like.
03:06Again, the wages there are maybe a bit of a problem for United.
03:10So I think with Jocherez and Oseman, they would both have to lower their wage demands if they were to move to a club who have tight finances this summer.
03:18And, of course, who don't have European football next season.
03:21And speaking of strikers as well, I think another thing to note really on that is, yes, United could get Cunha and Mbwemo signed without any sales.
03:30But I think if they have to get a striker, they really need to start getting people out the door.
03:34Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnaccio, Jainan Sancho and Anthony all available for permanent transfer.
03:41But it's only really been loan offers or loan of options to buy for all of them at this moment in time.
03:46United's preference, of course, would be for straight sales in all those regards.
03:51And Reisman's Hoyland, he wants to fight for his future at Old Trafford, but he is a target for Inter Milan this summer.
03:57Remains to be seen what will happen there.
03:59Inter want to rebuild after their Champions League final annihilation.
04:03They were on for the treble, of course, and ended up trophy-less as Napoli went and won the league as well.
04:08So a lot to keep tabs on.
04:10Lots could change very quickly in the summer transfer window.
04:12So the headline news, Mateusz Cunha is a Manchester United player.
04:17Fully expect Brian Mbwemo to join him at Old Trafford soon.
04:20And Talk's still yet to really catch on with Victor Jokeres.
