00:00Hi there.
00:01Temperatures and humidity are going to rise this week with the chance of thundery downpours
00:07by Thursday and Friday.
00:08But for the time being, it's relatively cool and damp across many northern parts of the
00:13UK, increasingly so during the rest of Monday as this weather system moves in.
00:18Higher pressure towards the south and so staying mostly dry across southern parts of England,
00:24the Midlands, parts of Wales and the east of England.
00:27A shower or two here and there, a lot of cloud but some brightness coming through occasionally.
00:32Meanwhile for Scotland, Northern Ireland, much of northern England, it is increasingly cloudy
00:38and damp with areas of rain and some heavy bursts at times as well, 13 or 14 Celsius where
00:43we've got the persistent rain, towards the south where we've got the brightness 20, 21
00:48degrees.
00:49But it is a wet end to the day for much of Scotland, especially towards the west and southwest,
00:54Northern Ireland into northwest England.
00:56The rain turning heavy and persistent across northwest England, parts of north and west
01:00Wales and the whole system sinks south.
01:02A lot of low cloud wrapped up in this, so a gloomy night to come through areas across central
01:09parts of the UK.
01:11Clearer spells coming into Scotland and Northern Ireland as the system clears through.
01:14Some heavy showers in the far north and a brisk breeze.
01:18But in the south, it is a gloomy start to Tuesday.
01:21A lot of low cloud, some mist and hill fog, as well as coastal fog.
01:25Areas of rain and drizzle just slowly sinking south through the Midlands, parts of Wales
01:31and southern England through the day, turning a little more showery by the end of the afternoon.
01:35But it's generally grey skies in the south, whilst it brightens up further north.
01:39The northern two-thirds of the UK end the afternoon with plenty of sunshine, highs of
01:4319 or 20 Celsius.
01:44Still a few showers continuing for the north of Scotland.
01:49But for much of the UK, it's a fine evening on Tuesday and plenty of clear skies, actually.
01:54Just some lingering cloud towards the far south and west.
01:58A system just skirts past the northwest of Scotland.
02:01But higher pressure is building later Tuesday and into Wednesday.
02:05However, it does build to the east and that allows very warm, if not hot air, to drag
02:10northwards across most of the UK.
02:13It's going to feel very humid by Wednesday night and into Thursday.
02:18Temperatures up to the high 20s.
02:20But with low pressure to the west and that humid air in place, always the chance of some
02:25thundery downpours as we end the week.
02:28And more especially as we go into the weekend.
02:30We'll keep you updated on all of that, of course, on our YouTube channel.
02:33Bye-bye.
