00:00Thomas and Friends
00:06Making tracks to great destinations
00:30Dear Christopher, here is your friend Thomas the Tank Engine
00:52He wanted to come out of his station yard and see the world
00:55These stories tell you how he did it
00:58I hope you will like them, because you helped me to make them
01:01Your loving daddy
01:02They're two, they're four, they're six, they're eight
01:10Shunting trucks and hauling freight
01:12Red and green and brown and blue
01:15They're the really useful crew
01:18All the different roles that they're
01:20Round in the ships or far away
01:23Down the hills and round the bays
01:26Thomas and Friends
01:29The island of Sodor is surrounded by beautiful blue sea
01:39It has fields of green and sandy yellow beaches
01:44There are rivers, streams, and lots of trees where the birds sing
01:50There are windmills and a coal mine
01:53And docks where visitors to the island arrive
01:57The island also has lots and lots of railway lines
02:03Who's that puffing down the track?
02:06Who's that puffing down the track?
02:10It's Thomas
02:11Hello Thomas
02:13Hello everybody
02:16Welcome to the island of Sodor
02:19Today on the island of Sodor
02:34Peter Sam makes an exciting discovery
02:38And we meet some of Thomas' favorite friends
02:45But first, Duncan is getting ready for a special birthday treat
02:52Duncan and the hot air balloon
03:03It was a beautiful day in the hills of Sodor
03:07It was Mr. Percival's twins' birthday
03:11Every year, Duncan gave the twins a special birthday ride
03:16Duncan was very excited
03:19At the depot, Duncan was getting ready
03:24He had to look his best
03:26The special birthday flag had been fixed to his cab
03:30Duncan was very proud of his flag
03:33Mr. Percival came to see Duncan
03:36Shall I pick up the twins now?
03:39No, Duncan
03:40This year, I am giving them a ride in a hot air balloon for their birthday
03:45Duncan was disappointed
03:48He wanted to give the twins their birthday treat
03:50Duncan, you must collect the hot air balloon from the transfer yards
03:55Yes, sir
03:57And he chuffed sadly away
04:02Duncan pulled into the transfer yards
04:08Thomas had brought the balloon from the docks
04:11The balloon man was filling it with hot air
04:15Hello, Duncan
04:18Hello, Thomas
04:20That's a wonderful balloon
04:23Be sure to puff slowly and carefully, Duncan
04:27So, Duncan huffed slowly away to Mr. Percival's house
04:33On his way, Duncan rolled over a bumpy track
04:42His flatbed clanked, rattled, and jiggled
04:45One of the ropes holding down the balloon came undone
04:51Oh dear, thought Duncan
04:57The bumpy track has jiggled the balloon loose
05:00What shall I do?
05:02Then an idea flew into Duncan's funnel
05:05If I jiggle the balloon more, it might float away
05:10Then I could give the twins a ride today
05:12And they could have the balloon ride tomorrow
05:14So, Duncan began to jiggle backwards and forwards over the bumpy track
05:21The ropes loosened
05:26And the balloon floated away
05:32Hooray!
05:34And Duncan chucked cheerfully to Mr. Percival's house
05:38Duncan puffed round the bend
05:42Then he stopped
05:45The hot air balloon had floated down
05:48It was right in front of him on the track
05:51Duncan bumped into the balloon
05:54Flatten my funnel
05:56Now what should I do?
06:01The basket wobbled
06:02And one of the sandbags fell off
06:04It made the balloon rise up a little
06:07Duncan was puzzled
06:09He biffed the balloon again
06:11More sandbags fell off
06:15The balloon rose higher
06:18And higher
06:20And floated away
06:22Duncan was delighted
06:25He raced on to Mr. Percival's house
06:28Mr. Percival was waiting for him
06:34Where's the hot air balloon, Duncan?
06:37Duncan
06:37It came looser
06:39And floated away
06:40Mr. Percival was upset
06:43Then there was trouble
06:46The balloon floated down from the sky once again
06:49Straight towards the weather vane on Mr. Percival's roof
06:54It burst on the sharp point
06:57The balloon tumbled down
07:02Fizzling fireboxes
07:05Duncan was upset
07:07Now the twins wouldn't have their balloon ride at all
07:11It's all my fault, sir
07:13I just wanted to give the twins their birthday treat
07:16Just as I always have
07:18Mr. Percival was cross
07:21Duncan, you were going to give the twins their birthday ride
07:26You were going to pick them up and bring them here
07:29Duncan felt even more upset
07:32He wanted the twins to have a happy day
07:35Sir, Peter Sam could pick up the twins
07:38Then I will go and collect the balloon repairman
07:41I'm sure he could fix the balloon
07:43Mr. Percival thought this was a very good idea
07:47So Duncan puffed quickly away
07:50Duncan raced into Mountain Village Station
07:55The balloon repairman was waiting
07:57We must be quick, sir
07:59The balloon has to be fixed before the twins get home
08:01Duncan chuffed quickly back to Mr. Percival's house
08:12Mr. Percival was very pleased to see them
08:15The balloon repairman looked at the hole in the balloon
08:20Oh dear, it's a very big hole
08:23I don't have enough material to fix it
08:26I know, sir
08:28My birthday flag
08:29It just might be big enough
08:31The balloon repairman looked at Duncan's flag
08:34Well, yes, Duncan
08:37That would be perfect
08:38The balloon repairman fixed the balloon just in time
08:44Peter Sam arrived with the twins
08:47They were delighted
08:50Soon, Mr. Percival and the twins were floating high above the island of Sodor
08:58And Duncan felt so happy
09:05He thought his boiler would burst
09:08The island of Sodor is home to lots of Thomas' friends
09:19Friends on the rails
09:21Friends on the roads
09:23And even some friends in the air
09:25They are all very different
09:28And each very special
09:30And they are all Thomas' friends
09:33Thomas always looks forward to seeing his narrow-gauge friends
09:38The narrow-gauge engines are little
09:41Thomas is a lot bigger
09:43But sometimes big engines don't know as much as their little friends
09:49One day, Thomas went to the wharf
09:53To pick up Sir Topham Hatt's Christmas tree
09:56Sir Handel had delivered the tree to the wharf
10:00But Thomas didn't know where to find it
10:03He told Duncan he was looking for a Christmas tree
10:08Cheeky Duncan made fun of Thomas
10:11That made Thomas cross
10:13So Thomas decided not to ask any of the little engines to help him find the tree
10:22Not even Sir Handel
10:26Then, there was trouble
10:32Thomas was huffing and puffing so fast
10:35He didn't look where he was going
10:37Thomas gasped
10:42He hadn't found the Christmas tree at all
10:46It was a load of pipes
10:47Thomas had to find the Christmas tree straight away
10:52He knew he needed the help of his friends
10:56The little engines
10:57Sir Handel showed Thomas where he had left the tree
11:02And that night, the lights were switched on
11:07The Christmas tree sparkled and shone
11:09And Thomas tooted thank you to his narrow-gauge friends
11:18Thomas likes to help them, too
11:22One day, Thomas tried to give Skarloey the best day he had ever had
11:28Skarloey was sad
11:31He had broken down
11:33Thomas had to pull Skarloey to the mender's yard
11:37Thomas wanted his friend to be happy
11:41So, on the way, Thomas decided to show Skarloey the best sights of Sodor
11:47Thomas took Skarloey to the Scottish castle
11:51To Shen Valley
11:54And even to the top of Gordon's hill
12:01But Skarloey wasn't excited
12:05He had seen castles, valleys, and hills
12:09Now Thomas was late
12:13He had to take Skarloey the quickest way to the mender's yard
12:16It was the coast track
12:18Thomas used this track every day
12:21Suddenly Skarloey smiled from buffer to fender
12:25There was no seaside in the hills
12:28For Skarloey, this was the best sight of all
12:32He was very excited
12:35And Thomas was delighted
12:37He could see his friend was happy
12:40And that made Thomas happy, too
12:42Whenever Thomas goes to visit his narrow-gauge friends
12:46He finds something new
12:48Learns something new
12:50Or sees something new
12:52And that makes all the little engines
12:58Very special friends of Thomas
13:00Mountain marvel
13:04The narrow-gauge engines in the hills of Sodor
13:08Always like to hear stories
13:11Their favorite ones are about a magical engine called Proteus
13:14Peter Sam enjoys these stories most of all
13:21One morning, Peter Sam puffed into the transfer yards
13:25He was very excited
13:27Thomas is collecting the famous storyteller Mary Marvel
13:31She is going to read at a special show
13:33All the little engines whistled and wheezed
13:37I hope she tells stories about Proteus
13:40Then the narrow-gauge controller arrived
13:43He gave them all special jobs
13:45There is a lot to do
13:47Please be back in good time for Miss Marvel
13:50The little engines peeped their whistles excitedly
13:55Peter Sam collected the cream churns quickly
14:00I hope I'm the first to see Miss Marvel
14:05He huffed to himself
14:08So Peter Sam raced away
14:11The churns clinked and clanked
14:14And his wheels clickety-clined
14:16Freddy was waiting at a junction
14:21He had a lot to do
14:23You're in a hurry
14:25Yes, I want to be the first engine to see Miss Marvel
14:29I'm going to take a shortcut to the show ground
14:32And Peter Sam raced away down an old twisty track
14:37Wheeeee!
14:41He whistled as he rolled down the other side
14:43Then he saw a thick hedge across the track
14:46Oh no!
14:48Peter Sam crashed through the hedge
14:50With a clang and a prang
14:52He hit something hard
14:54Fizzling fireboxes
14:57There in front of Peter Sam
14:59Was a statue of Proteus
15:01It was sitting on a rusty old flatbed
15:04Some farm workers appeared to see what the noise was
15:08Oh my! Look!
15:11It's a statue of Proteus
15:14It looks very old
15:16Peter Sam thought his boiler would burst
15:19Then an idea flew into his funnel
15:23No one must see the statue before the show
15:26It will be my wonderful surprise
15:28And I will be the star of the show
15:30He thought
15:31Wheeeee!
15:32Peter Sam tooted to the workers
15:34Wheeeee!
15:35Please, can you cover the statue?
15:37I'll be back to collect it soon
15:39Peter Sam chuffed quickly back to the top of the old track
15:46He stopped at the junction
15:53Duncan shuffed up
15:55He still had to collect the benches for the show
15:57Duncan, when you come back
15:59Don't take the shortcut
16:00There's something blocking the track
16:02Thank you very much
16:04And Duncan shuffed off
16:05Then, Mighty Mac pulled up
16:09He still had to pick up flowers for the show
16:13When you come back, please don't take the shortcut
16:16There's something blocking the track
16:18Thank you!
16:20And Mighty Mac chuffed off
16:21Then, Freddy puffed up
16:26He still had to pick up lanterns for the show
16:30Freddy, when you come back, please don't take the shortcut
16:33There's something blocking the track
16:35Oh, thank you!
16:37And he chuffed off
16:39Peter Sam was pleased
16:42Now, the statue of Proteus was sure to be a surprise
16:47The farm workers had covered the statue of Proteus
16:51Peter Sam was coupled up to the flatbed
16:54Peter Sam pumped his pistons
16:57The cream churns were heavy
17:00But the Proteus statue was even heavier
17:03Peter Sam puffed and puffed to the top of the hill
17:09Now I can roll down the other side, he thought
17:15Peter Sam raced down the hill
17:18There was a junction ahead
17:20Oh, no!
17:21This load is too heavy!
17:22Help!
17:23Peter Sam smashed into a buffer
17:28The cream churns crashed
17:33The junction was blocked
17:35Bubbling boilers!
17:37I'll never be the star of the show now
17:40The other ranchers can't get through
17:42I've spoiled everything for everyone
17:45Then, Peter Sam heard the whistles of his friends
17:49Duncan, Freddy, and Mighty Mac arrived at the junction
17:53They were surprised at the mess
17:56Peter Sam felt very silly
17:59I'm sorry
18:00I wanted to be the star of Ms. Marvel's show
18:04He told them about finding the statue of Proteus
18:08The engines gasped
18:10The statue belongs to us all
18:12Please, will you help me take it to the show?
18:14His friends were happy to help
18:17Duncan chuffed away to find a mechanic for Peter Sam
18:22Mighty Mac puffed to tell Mr. Percival about the statue
18:27Freddy, will you take Proteus to the show?
18:31Freddy was delighted
18:33It would be an honor
18:35Soon, the mechanic fixed Peter Sam's brakes
18:40Now you're ready to go, Peter Sam!
18:45Later, Peter Sam collected fresh cream from the farm
18:51I know Ms. Marvel's show has started
18:53But all the other engines will be there to enjoy the statue
18:57Peter Sam chuffed his long way back
18:59Peter Sam puffed up quiet
19:01Miss Marvel was finishing her last story
19:16Oh, my!
19:18The statue is still covered
19:21Today, one of our engines found something very special
19:25So this is for all the little engines of the hills
19:29Because you are all special
19:34Everyone gasped at the wonderful statue
19:38The engines whistled
19:41Peter Sam smiled
