00:00Hello, very good day to you. Plenty of showers on offer for many of us through today. They are
00:05going to ease a little bit and then we have some heavy thundery showers arriving tomorrow. But
00:10before then, just a quick look at what happened earlier on today and you can see there was an
00:15occluded front that's been pushing its way eastwards. That brought the focus for some heavy
00:19showery rain that many parts of England and Wales saw so far today. That's now clearing away but
00:24behind it a fair few showers following and these showers are going to continue then as we go through
00:29this afternoon. The heavier showers still across parts of eastern, southeastern England, maybe eastern
00:33Scotland as well. Some rumbles of thunder possible with these. Elsewhere, a scattering of showers
00:38continuing but a few of them will be starting to ease and clear away so a greater chance of seeing
00:44some dry and perhaps even sunny spells and in that sunshine, we're not doing too bad temperature wise.
00:49We're looking at most places peaking in the mid to high teens Celsius. Towards the south could get to
00:54low 20s, highs of around 20, 21. There is a bit of a breeze around but if you're in the shelter
00:59from that and like I say in the sunshine, not feeling too bad. Then as we go through the evening,
01:04more of those showers starting to ease but not all of them. Some will continue in a few places
01:08and then towards the end of the day, cloud building and some heavy thundery showers pushing in from the
01:14southwest and this will all spread its weight northeastwards across much of England and Wales
01:18as we go overnight. Also across Northern Ireland, we're seeing some cloud and showery rain overnight but
01:24across large chunks of Scotland, especially towards the northeast. Some drier, clearer weather here and
01:30it's here we're going to see the lowest temperatures, not especially low, mid-single figures really. Elsewhere,
01:35temperatures generally holding up in double digits as you would expect because of the cloud,
01:39because of the rain and some brisk winds. So then tomorrow, well it is going to be quite an active
01:44one really, especially across southern parts of England. This is where we have the greatest risk of some
01:49heavy torrential downpours, the risk of frequent lightning with some thunderstorms that are likely
01:55to develop. Even further north, there are going to be a few thundery downpours to watch out for but
02:01by their very nature, those showers, they are hit and miss so it's no guarantee that you're going to
02:06catch a heavy downpour. You may not even catch any rain if you're lucky, if it's dry weather that
02:11you're after and there will be some dry brighter spells in between any showers as they push through.
02:16We do have a warning though for thunderstorms on Saturday. This is across parts of southern
02:21England and Wales. Here we have the greatest risk of some disruption because of those pretty heavy
02:28downpours. We're talking the potential for 10 to 15 millimetres in just an hour or so and through
02:32the day if you get several downpours one after the other then some places could see totals of around
02:3830 or 40 millimetres. That's enough to cause a little bit of localised surface flooding and as well as
02:44the heavy rain, it's the frequent lightning and the hail that could cause some problems too.
02:48Temperatures on paper, well they are going to be down a couple of degrees for most places
02:52through tomorrow. A bit more of a breeze around as well and especially some gusty winds in association
02:57with those strong downpours of thundery rain and so that will add to the slightly fresher feel to most
03:04places. Now Sunday is looking like the drier day of the weekend for most places but it's definitely not
03:09totally dry. There will still be some showery rain around initially across parts of eastern England
03:14that clears away and then a scattering of showers following in behind and whilst some of them could
03:18be a little bit on the sharp side they're not going to be as intense as the ones that we're expecting
03:23through tomorrow and there's a lesser chance of seeing some thunder and so disruptions less likely
03:29as well. But nonetheless still a few showers to watch out for and temperatures well similar really to
03:34Saturday mid to possibly high teens for most of us. There's more changeable weather to come as we go
03:40through next week but also the potential for temperatures to rise and so definitely something
03:45to keep on top of. I'll see you again soon. Bye-bye.
