00:00All right, so let's talk about coach of the year, believe it or not.
00:03You're already laying the table out for the coach of the year.
00:07Nice.
00:08Yeah, so we've done just about every award, but we never did the AP NFL coach of the year out.
00:13So understand a couple things here, Scott.
00:15This is a regular season award.
00:17It typically goes to the head coach where the team is way better than you thought.
00:22It's rare that you get, like Andy Reid, by the way.
00:25Okay, Andy Reid, Scott, yeah, he's won it before.
00:28But he hasn't won it since 2002, and he was with the Eagles that early in his career with the Eagles.
00:34Because they're so good every year, how could he be better than the expectations?
00:38Whereas when you look at a guy like my favorite this year is Jim Harbaugh.
00:43They were better than expected last year.
00:45Yeah.
00:46It would not surprise me if they won the AFC West.
00:49I know the Chiefs for years have owned the Chargers.
00:51I get that.
00:52But that was not with Harbaugh.
00:53Harbaugh now, you get him in there for second season.
00:56By the way, he's plus 1,000.
00:59He's plus 1,000 to win this award.
01:01I love those odds.
01:02He won it, by the way, with the Niners in 2011.
01:05You know how they made that Super Bowl run under Kaepernick.
01:07The guy wins everywhere he's been, whether it's University of San Diego, Stanford, the Niners, Michigan.
01:14He's a turnaround program head coach.
01:17He's brilliant.
01:17I know some people think he's got a short shelf life because he drives people crazy.
01:21The guy's a brilliant head coach.
01:24That, to me, that plus 1,000 is a great one.
01:28Yeah.
01:28Ben Johnson, by the way, he's got the shortest odds of plus 650.
01:32Mike Vrabel.
01:32Now, this is interesting.
01:34Mike Vrabel's only plus 750.
01:36Well, look, the Patriots have been terrible for a number of years.
01:38So, you're looking at it.
01:41Now, he did win it just four years ago with the Titans in 2021.
01:46They're only plus 750 with the Patriots.
01:49Now, because the expectation is with Drake May and better coaching, they could be a seven or eight win team.
01:55They have a very favorable schedule, by the way.
01:57Sleeper.
01:58What's that?
02:00Sleeper.
02:01Yeah, he's a sleeper, but he's plus 750.
02:04Mike McDonald is my guy, plus 2,000.
02:06And, again, I'm going out on a limb there for them to win the NFC West.
02:10So, there are a lot of good ones, but it is really hard, Scott.
02:13If you go over a number of years, Dom Shula, all-time, one at the most.
02:18Three with the Colts, one with the Dolphins.
02:19Belichick, one at three times.
02:21Chuck Knox.
02:22You and I watched Chuck Knox.
02:23Ground Chuck.
02:24Yep.
02:25Rams, Bills, and people forget with that crew there with the Seahawks.
02:32Seahawks.
02:32And Kurt Warner, the running back.
02:34Go ahead.
02:34Yeah, I mean, obviously.
02:36Now, Sean Payton's at 1,500.
02:41Dan Campbell, 2,000.
02:44Your boy McDonald's right there.
02:46You've got him winning the NFC West.
02:48So, he's got a shot.
02:50If he gets them into the playoffs and they win that division, believe me,
02:54he'll be in the running.
02:56McVay is always considered, right, as one of the best coaches.
03:00Is he not still a genius?
03:02He is fantastic.
03:03Now, he came out of nowhere in 2017 in his second year.
03:07Remember, Jeff Fisher was fired.
03:09And actually, I think it might have been his first year because Fisher was there.
03:15Yeah, in fact, Fisher was there for Jared Goff.
03:17Then he was let go.
03:18So, yeah, Sean is phenomenal.
03:20And you know what's amazing about him?
03:21And he's been very public about it.
03:24And he almost quit coaching going to television to work for Amazon or any network would want him.
03:31I talked to coaches who talked to him who were with other teams who wanted to leave the teams they were with and coached for him.
03:36And he said, listen, I might leave, so you might as well get another job.
03:40And then he reconsidered and stayed.
03:42And the guy's incredible.
03:43There's no question about it.
03:45And also, you know, here's another thing.
03:47Dan Quinn and the Commanders, they're plus 2,200.
03:50I know there's some contractual issues with their players.
03:52Look, these always get worked out.
03:54I don't worry about that.
03:55Now, obviously, they're not sneaking up on anybody.
03:57He's plus 2,200.
03:59But he didn't win it last year.
04:00You probably could have said he should have won it.
04:03And then.
04:04What about O'Connell at 4,000?
04:07My God, if McCarthy works out.
04:09Weren't they great last year?
04:11And he didn't even play.
04:13I know.
04:14And by the way, I know Kevin O'Connell, by the way, won it last year in 2024.
04:18He's plus 4,000.
04:20And how about Kevin Stefanski?
04:23Most people don't know this.
04:24He's won it twice at 20 and 23.
04:26And plus 5,000.
04:27Now, listen, he's a miracle worker, but they're not getting there this year.
04:31There's just.
