00:00A smoother journey for all passengers using Leeds Bradford Airport, that's the
00:05aim of the new £100 million terminal expansion and if you're due to use the
00:09airport in the coming weeks you may be one of the first people to get a look at
00:13the transformation in person. Phase one of the works are almost complete and a
00:18trial run of the new facilities ahead of their official opening will see some
00:22passengers arriving at the airport try out the all-new arrivals process. This
00:28includes an upgraded passport control area, a new baggage reclaim area and
00:33cutting-edge technology, with phase two of the project set to focus on
00:37redeveloping and refurbishing the existing terminal. Leeds Bradford Airport
00:42commercial director John Cunliffe has said that this is a huge milestone for the
00:46airport and passengers will get a real feel for the new terminal experience
00:50within this testing phase. There are a few scenarios that the airport needs to trial
00:55before it reveals when the doors will open full-time and the team are looking
00:59forward to seeing how the phase goes and to get an initial reaction from
01:03passengers as the summer fully gets underway. Phase two of the works will lead
01:09to some changes to the usual passenger flows particularly for those departing
01:13from the airport once the new terminal building opens. You can expect many
01:18changes if you are departing from the airport in the coming weeks and you may
01:22well see hoardings and scaffolding at the front of the building as well as changes
01:26to the meet-and-greet car parking area and bus pickup and drop-off zones. Leeds
01:32Bradford Airport has created a dedicated page on their website which will be
01:36updated regularly throughout the next phase of the development providing
01:40passengers with more information at each stage of the upgrade process.
