00:00What's going on? So I want to share with you four free ways you can determine how much traffic a keyword gets.

00:07And if you're blogging and shooting for a keyword, you're like, ah, does the keyword get a lot of traffic?

00:13I'm going to show you exactly what to do.

00:16So the first way, this is the way that I really like doing, okay, I use this a lot, is in Google Trends.

00:22If you type in the keyword, there's boxes of information that pop up.

00:26So, for example, say I'm going for the keyword, how to fix a car.

00:31I want to write an article or a blog post about this.

00:34I want to rank it for the search engines.

00:37So the more information that pops up, the more traffic this puppy will get.

00:43So these are just buckets of information, educational guesses.

00:47So this one gets a lot of traffic.

00:50Now, this may be too competitive to rank for.

00:52You're like, wow, there's a lot of high domains, you know, I'll never get to the top spots you want.

01:00So with blogging, you want to niche down.

01:03So instead of writing an article about how to fix a car, you can go more long tail keywords.

01:09So how to fix a red Honda Civic sunroof with no car, with no tools, and no hands.

01:16I had no way to do it.

01:19So I wrote that into here, and guess what?

01:21There's no data, see?

01:23So this, no, nobody searches for this.

01:28One person out in a year, no hands.

01:30I got to fix my car.

01:33I couldn't help myself.

01:35So this is a great little free tool to see how much traffic a keyword gets.

01:43It's completely free.

01:44Just go to Google Trends, type in the keyword, and you'll see how many boxes pop up.

01:48And if two boxes come up, then that's better than one.

01:51So these are like little buckets.

01:53It gives you an idea.

01:54All right.

01:55So the next one is with a keyword planner.

01:58You know how you pay for ads?

02:00When you type in the keywords, it gives you a range.

02:03See how to fix a car, right?

02:05Boom.

02:05It says average monthly searches, 1,000 to 10,000.

02:10That's like a good little range that bounces around in there.

02:13That gives you an idea that, hey, this is, if I write an article, I can get some website traffic from this bad boy.

02:20Okay?

02:21All right.

02:21That's another great way.

02:22A third one is this free tool called Keyword Surfer, which is not bad at all.

02:28And when you type it in here, it'll give you an idea of estimated monthly searches.

02:33It says 1,000.

02:34Now, you've got to take these tools with a grain of salt because they could be wrong.

02:38It's just educated guesses.

02:41And I'm thinking that how to fix a car gets more searches than 1,000.

02:47That's a low end.

02:49All right.

02:49And the last one over here is Ubersuggest.

02:52This is a free tool.

02:54Well, actually, it's free for three uses.

02:56After that, you have to pay for it.

02:58But, you know, it's not bad.

02:59So you enter your keyword in here, and it'll tell you not only how competitive it is, but how much traffic and a range that keyword will get.

03:09And all those ideas can kind of give you, like, oh, okay, they're all the same.

03:14It gives you an idea on how much traffic it gets.

03:17It's like predicting the weather.

03:20It's not exact science.

03:21It's just educated guesses.

03:23And that's when it comes to getting traffic, how much traffic a keyword gets.

03:27That's what you're going after.

03:29Because, you know.

03:31And the cool thing is they're all free.
