00:00What does Minnesota do?
00:02Pray.
00:03Okay.
00:04All right, but now that we've left the chapel.
00:06What do they do?
00:08We talked about this briefly at the Open.
00:10What they do is, obviously, Randall's coming off of a terrible game.
00:14And Randall's been fantastic the entire playoffs.
00:16Yeah.
00:17Coming off a terrible game.
00:19They need to get consistent production,
00:23and I mean the bare-bones minimum consistent production
00:26out of Nas Reed, DiVincenzo, NAW, Mike Conley, and Rudy Gobert
00:31all at the same game.
00:34Again, we talked about Conley and Gobert are non-threats on all.
00:37They're negatives.
00:39They're negatives.
00:40So in order to get you to be like, hey, Mike Conley,
00:43you're not going out there and scoring 20 points,
00:44but if you give us seven and Gobert, you give us eight,
00:47and NAW off the bench, you give us, he's not going to have 17,
00:50but he give us nine, and DiVincenzo give us eight.
00:52Then we have a shot.
00:53And it has to be a, you know, the rising tide lifts all ships kind of thing.
00:56A little bit from everyone.
00:57See, and I see your point, but to me, I have to go with their big three
01:02have to all play well at the same time.
01:05Who's the three?
01:07I'm going to say McDaniels has got to be the third.
01:09Yeah.
01:10Because he was not good in game one.
01:11He was better in game two.
01:12Randall was terrible in game two.
01:14Right?
01:14And has put up numbers,
01:17but they also haven't been really efficient shooting numbers.
01:20Nor consistent.
01:21Right, or consistent.
01:21So, what I'm saying is, is you probably need,
01:24I'm going to throw out there, between the three of them,
01:28I'm going to say about 70 points you need by the three of them,
01:31and then hope that you get 40 from everybody else.
01:35And the problem is, even if you get that and get the 110,
01:38that still may not be enough to beat OKC.
01:41Because you need OKC to also kind of struggle-ish
01:44in order for all these pieces to fall together at the same time.
01:47So, there's, I think Jada McDaniels has to stop guarding SGA.
01:58I think, listen, Chris Finch is, I want to just be very obvious
02:01because I'm about to correct everything I think he's doing.
02:04Chris Finch is an NBA head coach, has had so far a great start to his career,
02:08and I'm sitting here at the desk.
02:09And with that said, cut it out with a Jada McDaniels guards everyone's best player,
02:13and that's all he's there for thing.
02:15Enough.
02:15OK?
02:16Let Jada McDaniels try and shut off J-Dub's water.
02:19We saw that happen last series.
02:21That Jalen Williams, as much as I love the player, I'm sure you guys as well,
02:25Jada McDaniels could have some success there.
02:28He can't guard SGA.
02:29So, let's do that.
02:31How do we guard SGA?
02:32You can't guard him.
02:33Isn't that obvious?
02:34Start Conley on him or Dante.
02:36I don't care.
02:38And then send help, specifically Ant, with the athleticism and size off of Dort.
02:43If Dort makes five threes, who I took for two plus, great.
02:46So be it.
02:47Amazing.
02:48Doubt it.
02:48Let's find out.
02:49So, it's the mindset of, as a coach, I get exactly going.
02:54When I used to go against dominant players, right,
02:57that everyone was complimented and could shoot the ball and do some things.
03:00You have one of two choices.
03:02It's option A, let everybody else cook, lock down the leading scorer, or reverse.
03:07The problem is, and I think with not only the fact that I think McDaniels could do a good job on Jada, Kevin,
03:14I think it's the fact that it could also give him more opportunities to unlock himself offensively.
03:19Because I think as much as you need him to play defense, Tom, you need him to score.
03:24And if he's running around with SGA all over the place, one, he may get cooked.
03:30Two, we may not have enough left to go ahead and score is what they need him to do as well.
03:34And it may be a combination of, like, the mental ease of, like, I don't need to stop SGA.
03:41Where so physically he's not running around, he's not picking up fouls, he's not – and then the mental side is like,
03:45hey, I'm not worried about that.
03:46I just got to play good defense against someone else, and I have to do enough scoring to help out the team.
03:52It may be a combination of both of those things.
03:54And it's the same situation – you know, we're kind of talking about the Knicks.
03:57It's like the Timberwolves have to try something different.
03:59And if it's switching defensively, switching defensive assignments because it's not working for them,
04:03that's the case.
04:04Like, the team's down 0-2.
04:07Be free with the experimenting because there's – you're not at a spot where, like,
04:10hey, we're going to throw away a series lead if we mess things up.
04:13It's like, you're already down.
04:14Get out there and try.
04:14Bye.
