00:00There is an unknown Martin Scorsese film I bet 80% of Scorsese fans have never seen.
00:28It's a documentary he made in 1974 called Italian American.
00:32The whole film is an evening with Scorsese's parents where they talk about the history of his family moving to America from Italy.
00:37Plastic sofa covers, how to make authentic Italian tomato sauce.
00:40This is what my mother-in-law taught me.
00:42And good old-fashioned Hell's Kitchen paranoia.
00:44Wait a minute, in the hallway.
00:45Who's this guy?
00:46Who's this guy?
00:46Be careful, who's in the hallway?
00:48What's happening?
00:48Come up and down or I forget.
00:49Somebody's going up and down, just be careful.
00:52No, you never know.
00:53Scorsese has always put his parents Catherine and Charles Scorsese in his film.
00:57That's his mother who played Joe Pesci's mother in Goodfellas in this hilarious scene.
01:01Why don't you get yourself a nice girl?
01:03I get a nice one almost every night, ma.
01:05Yeah, but get yourself a girl so you can settle down.
01:07I settle down almost every night, but then in the morning I'm free.
01:10I love you.
01:11I want to be with you.
01:12This painting was actually drawn by Nicholas Pelleggi's mother, the co-writer of Goodfellas.
01:17Anyway, most of this was improv except for one line.
01:20Did Tommy ever tell you about my painting?
01:21I'm going to be with you.
