Everyone is welcome to join the Port Pride Walk and Coffee on Sunday, May 17.

00:00And Jake, why do you think it's important that people come and support this Pride event

00:04in Port Macquarie?

00:05Yeah, well it's really about bringing people together and people who model and respect

00:10and kindness.

00:11We really wanted to come down to the event to highlight how progressive and inclusive

00:15Port Macquarie and the Mid-North Coast is, and to bring our friends and family together,

00:20queer, straight allies, anyone who's interested in showcasing the wonderful community of living.

00:25And can you tell me a little bit about the event, so what involves and what kind of

00:29treats that people enjoy after?

00:31So the event, we're going to meet down here at Town Beach on Saturday at the 17th.

00:34We're going to go for about a two and a half kilometre walk in the north or south, under

00:38the salmon jet.

00:39And we're going to finish off with some beautiful cupcakes, baked by Katie in Port Macquarie,

00:43handing over her fabulous skills.

00:45And so I'm sure that it's a nice sweet treat that we can all enjoy the end of a wonderful

00:50walk together.

00:51Beautiful.

00:52And you've moved to Port Macquarie in January, and what have you enjoyed about the community

00:56since you've moved here?

00:57Oh, I just love being down here at the beach, meeting all the different people around the

01:01Mid-North Coast and the Calgary region.

01:03And just what I really love is that the beach is a really good analogy for what Port Macquarie

01:08is.

01:09And it's an area that doesn't discriminate.

01:11And it's an area that really welcomes everyone and a colourful community.

01:15It's a really vibrant community for all of us.

01:18And it's a really nice thing for you.
