Investigation into Christmas tree fire

Mid North Coast Police District Crime Manager Mark Rogers says police are treating the incident as suspicious and are investigating all possibilities regarding the cause of the fire.

00:00So around 11.15 p.m. last night we received a call to a fire in Belgrave Street at Kempsey.

00:06Emergency services attended the scene and located the Christmas tree in town at Kempsey to be on fire.

00:13The Fire and Rescue in New South Wales have extinguished the flames and we're making inquiries

00:19in relation to the circumstances surrounding the fire. At the moment it's being treated as

00:24suspicious and I would appeal that if anyone's got any information in relation to what has

00:29happened, if they could contact the local police and or crime stoppers on 1300 4400 that would

00:35be greatly appreciated.
