00:00uh but let's look at three teams that had postseason aspirations and and i'm gonna ask you

00:04matt if you changed your opinion at all in any of these i have not on the braves i do think the

00:08braves are gonna be there in the end and they did have a horrible start but i think they fixed

00:13themselves uh do have concerns with the orioles i think everybody else does too because of the

00:18pitching uh texas yesterday made a pretty bold move sending jake burger down who uh you know

00:24certainly they traded for this offseason thought he did 30 home runs right now we'll have to do

00:28that in the minors so i have some concerns on the rangers too but i suppose matt when you look just

00:33look at that and you see the way that the orioles are trending something something evasive is going

00:38to have to happen here soon unfortunately it may end up being the manager i don't i don't think it's

00:42brandon hyde's fault but i mean they've got to change something there right yeah for sure and

00:48it's it's they're just kind of bad in every way and some of it you just look at well a couple of

00:53the offensive stars a couple guys everyone just penciled in to have solid seasons if not great

00:59seasons aren't hitting is that gonna continue probably not they'll turn around uh but the

01:05pitching has just been terrible the defense has been terrible and there just isn't anything going

01:09well in in those two aspects of the game and that's pretty important and when you throw in

01:15disappointing hitting on top of that you're gonna have a team that's struggling as much as they are and

01:19it's gonna take a a really big turnaround for them i think to get back and in contention and really

01:25have a shot to make any noise so yeah that team like you said i'm worried about the other two you

01:32know the rangers actually when you look at the underlying numbers they're very good i mean the

01:36pitching has been fantastic there's another big asterisk if they stay healthy but it's been really

01:40good the hitting's been a little disappointing but as they always say right that heats up as the weather

01:45heats up in texas so i think they'll be fine i think it's just one of those mental things when

01:49you look at the al west standings you see them in fourth place and you think oh this is well

01:53okay they're in that group as it is always this time of year that's within three games of each other

01:59you know you have a couple really good teams a couple really bad and then just a big a big group

02:04in the middle so i think they're going to continue to play better and eventually break out there

02:08and they're going to be right there in the end too like most people predicted at the beginning

02:12of the season the braves are a little tougher uh they obviously have had the injury bug early again

02:18i think they've been disappointed in a few ways uh that they didn't expect um but you know you can

02:24reasonably look at a lot of their players who maybe have struggled early in the year and say well this

02:29guy's obviously going to be better whether it's looking at the underlying numbers or just knowing

02:33the talent they have and like you said i think it's going to start coming together a little bit more

02:37and if guys can get healthy i think they're going to be there in the end too but definitely not the

02:42start they wanted uh you know coming in with a lot of high expectations and a lot of high hopes
